I quick stir fry veggies a lot - tonight was broccoli, green beans and carrots. Bit of oil, garlic, onions, white wine maybe too. Also, shredded carrots cooked in Pomi tomatoes was always a way to hide a veggie from my kid :-)

Just wanted to say I love your profile pic. I have a pineapple gcc who's my snuggly baby :-) Oh, and I'll try to start this challenge tomorrow after work !

Grilled cheese and soup were always a hit, like 3 nights a week. Sometimes I could slip sliced apples into the sandwich and even veggie soup

Good questions and I'm curious too. I've been thinking of trying yoga for more flexibility, plus it's something I haven't done before

Congrats on finishing your dissertation! And for losing the weight. I've noticed that the "like" button has seriously cut down on responses and posts from my friends. Just my observation. I've been here since Jan 2012 I think, off and on, and have lost 40 lbs, only to gain much of it back. I thought I could not track cals,…

Me too - I've gained a lot back due to emotional eating. I know I must try again but it is just so hard to get started. Again. Good luck to you

My occupation has been healthcare, to include laboratory data entry (when computers were just becoming a thing), Navy Corpsman, medical assistant in OB GYN clinic. Then I decided to get my Bachelors of Science in Medical Laboratory Science, and have been here in the lab ever since. Couple years ago, my hubs job moved us…

I binge eat too. Sometimes I have to tell myself it's just 15 minutes at a time: "I won't eat that for 15 min", and if I'm successful, I try for another 15 min, and so on. More often than not, I am not successful. When I come out of the haze, I try abstaining for 15 min. It totally sucks and many people don't understand,…

Thanks, still going strong. There's at least 3 or 4 king cakes a week at work. Omg.
-
This is my second king cake season in the NOLA area. Last year I ate ALL the cakes from every single bakery and store, and started my road to gain-it-all-back. Well, this year, we've had 10 king cakes already at work, at least, no joke. And I've resisted all but one!!! That one I only had two small slivers of cake, too. I…

Most of the time, I make the whole box of s'getti then keep it in the fridge for the week. Then, it's just one sauté pan! And usually, whatever veggie looks like it's too old for the salad LOL

I sauté garlic, peppers, squash, onions and basil in lemon olive oil and serve over spaghetti a lot. And add chicken pieces for protein sometimes. Don't know if this is the Mediterranean diet approved, but it works for us. Good luck
-
Well, I can honestly say when I lived in Italy (I was a Navy Corpsman) I ate the real Med Diet every day and actually lost 15 lbs. I was also active duty, smoked cigs, drank espresso and was 25 yo. I still cook this way mostly, heavy with olive oil and olives, lemons, capers, onions, tartufa, cheese, eggs, pasta, bread etc…

Thanks! Not too bad so far. Just a few cans of Pringles on the way home from work. It's such a habit, wanting to munch in the car after work. Like I'm de-stressing from the day. Much like when I used to smoke cigs - always want to light up in the car.

I'm going to try to focus on my binge issues. One meal at a time, more like 15 min at a time - hold off eating for 15 min, and if I can do that, I try for 15 min more.

Not just from country to country. I moved from North US to the Deep South last year. It took me a second when I heard "buggy", which I call a shopping cart or just "cart". Just one of many things different!
-
Same here - I lost 40 lbs over two years, and put it all back on in a span of 8 months! Ugh!!! But I'm trying to log again, every thing I binge on, and will eventually start to weigh and measure my foods. For me it's portion control. Good luck
-
I actually logged my food today, and completed my dairy. Mostly accurate. Baby steps, I think :-)

Roast goose and potatoes, corn, salad and gluhwein. With the rest of the homemade pumpkin pie and apple torte.

I often have trouble explaining and writing how I feel or think - it never comes across the way I intend. This article does the explaining for me!

Nikki - I'm right there with you, again. Just know you are not alone

Wow! Very inspirational!

Thanks for the estroven tip. I may look into that. Have a great day!

Too funny - I could only gag down Subway plain turkey sandwich on white bread. And Denny's mashed potatoes. No other brands of sandwich or potatoes, or the smell of any other food, really. Probably why we only have one child.
-
I do feel the same - I lost 40 lbs slowly since 2014, and have since gained 30 back this past year. It seems like if I stop paying attention to my food intake, if I stop weighing and measuring every thing, then I lose focus and just binge away. I'm back to binging every night again :-( It's definitely mental, in my case,…

There's hundreds more pics where this came from lol. All these dogs are under 2 years old, and it's crazy for sure. Lots of formal training for everybody. Haven't tried a formal dog walk yet.

Op, you are not alone - I hate exercising too. For all the reasons you've stated.

So, I just read a thread about meal times and bed times and whatnot. Ugh, I feel old and exhausted! I eat dinner early, like 5 pm and I am asleep by 7 or 8 pm. I'm also up at 4 am for work. Of course, I'm posting here bc this is the most nonjudgmental group around :-)
