  • I received the Fitbit One for Christmas last year. I really like knowing how active I am or if I need to step it up. I lost my original one in July and missed it so much that I bought another one. I still think I will find the original but so far, I haven't. It holds on pretty good and isn't that easy to lose. I log my…
  • This really is a great tool for losing weight. It is not a fast process but it is the best way to lose. My advice is to log everything you eat even on days when you know you have over eaten. It helps to see it and makes you want to do better. Also some exercise most days of the week even if it is a 30 minute walk. I have…
  • you get mad when the server is down! I am hooked on Fitbit and MFP and I get totally mad when one of them is down and I can't sync them!
  • Can you tell if your clothes are fitting looser? Maybe you are gaining muscle and it weighs more than fat. I have a friend that is kind of going through the same thing and she is trying not to be discouraged. She has went down a couple of pants sizes over the past 6 months. She is only weighing herself once every 3 months…
  • I took that for a while and it actually gave me more energy. It doesn't sound normal that it is making you so tired and you are out of breath. You do need to make sure you eat regular meals and keep your calorie intake enough to fuel your body. I had no problem with it and it did help curb my appetite for a few months and…
  • bump! I belong in this group!
  • I had a Polar that I used for years and loved it. The watch needed a new battery and I got it changed but it never worked quite the same, kept losing time and the reading didn't seem right so I bought another one. I never could get the heart rate to show up on the new one so I took it back. I ended up buying a Timex and I…
  • Bump to keep, good info!
  • I use the Silk unsweetened vanilla. I tried the plain but could not take it. I use it in cereal, oatmeal and smoothies. I have drank it but I don't usually.
  • Wow! So glad to find this group. I will post later with some goals, etc. but I wanted to post so I could find it again. Thank you!
  • I love the PB2 in shakes also and I put it in my oatmeal for a little extra protein. I haven't tried mixing it with water and using it for anything else, I love the real stuff too much for that.
  • True! Good fat but moderation!
  • It doesn't add calories burned for strength training under Strength Training (odd, I know). There is an exercise listed called Strength Training that includes weight lifting under Cardio. You might also try using a heart rate monitor and entering the calories yourself.for the most accurate information.
  • I agree! I have a Fitbit and I do use it every day and it helps me see how active I am but basically, it is a pedometer with bluetooth. It calculates steps and it is supposed to be good with running but I am not a runner. I use my HRM when I work out to get a better idea of calories burned.
  • I agree with this and weigh in often and if I start climbing back up, I will start tracking again. I have a long way to go to hit goal though...
  • Good job on the 5K! Walking definitely helps!
  • Don't be afraid to try new things or you will regret it later! Get moving and the weight issue will take care of itself! Enjoy the kids because you won't believe how fast they grow up and are gone!
  • I agree with this! Plan something special that you want to eat and go for it! The main thing is to forgive yourself and get back at it! That's what the danger in a cheat meal or day is for me...
  • We have all been there! You have to really think about why you are wanting to lose the weight and get healthy! Sometimes it is just really hard to find that motivation. Maybe just make yourself do 10 minutes of some kind of exercise like walking? I usually find when I don't want to exercise, if I at least start, it makes…
  • I just started using the Fitbit in January. I have a heart rate monitor also. The heart rate monitor is more accurate for workouts, the Fitbit is a little like a pedometer with blue tooth. The way you work them together on MFP is that you keep track of what time you start the exercise with the heart rate monitor and the…
  • I agree that it is more expensive but you do save money not buying fast food and in the long run on your health!
  • I actually started something like this on my calendar for the year. I always put things on there about my weight loss journey, how much I have lost, what my monthly goal is, things like that. This year I added what I did right this month. It is good to recognize what you do right instead of always criticizing yourself.…
  • I try to keep some peanut butter and crackers with me. Keebler has 190 calories and there are a couple of the energy bars, I like Nature Valley that has the 10 grams of protein. I saw where one of the sisters that won The Biggest Loser carries one of those shakers with protein powder and PB2 with her and then all she has…
  • We celebrated our 30th anniversary August 7th! 30 great years I might add. The kids are grown and now looking forward to what life has in store for us!
  • Great job! Keep up the good work!
  • Just liked your page https://www.facebook.com/FitFoodAndFunInTheSun Thanks!
  • I have a Polar and I took it to the local jewelry store to have the battery changed.
  • I also go over on my sugars every day but I am eating healthy fruits and that puts me over. I am type 2 diabetic but have lost weight and was able to go off my medication. My blood sugar runs between 100 to 110 in the mornings so it doesn't seem to affect me.
  • I love Pop Tarts, they are one of my favorite things. I love the Brown Sugar Cinnamon but as one other person said, they have too many calories and don't keep me full long enough.
  • You will do great! Good luck!
