Agree with everything here. I'm only in the "considering AIP" stages because I have a few diagnosed autoimmune disorders that are flaring up, and I have had difficulties with certain foods in the past. I would probably recommend simply opting for a plan of clean eating (fruits/veggies/lean proteins/clean fats like olive…

I'm about to start AIP, and am a little nervous. But, the pain of being in a nearly constant flared-up state is too much. Does anyone have any tips for a noob?

Aspartame/diet pop isn't harmful. There are so many other threads that discuss this, and discuss it well, so I won't add my flawed explanations here. For me personally, I limit myself to one diet pop (or two single-serve envelopes of Crystal Light that have been extremely watered down) in a day. I do this because for some…

Exactly. I gained weight because I ate crap and sat around. I'm losing it because I'm making healthy choices and MOVING. That's kind of how it works for most people. Wish more people shared your opinion!
-
YES! I so agree with this.
-
Y'know...I feel bad for laughing but thank you for sharing! I can't even IMAGINE how you felt - my only experience with this sort of "crap" was at home, alone...THANKFULLY!!!
-
Yep - but I think you're already on my friend's list :)

Heh...I'm Canadian (from Winnipeg!), living in southwest Virginia. Ever hear a Canadian speaking in Appalachian dialect? Yep, that's me. LOL :)

Then, I'd say he did pretty good! Doggy fitness is a really good idea - my lil pooch just LOVES to sleep on "Daddy" lol. Energetic dogs are more fun (especially when they greet you at the door :) )...
-
NICE job! That's awesome - how'd the dog like it? :)

Dope, Sevendust, Avenged Sevenfold, Shinedown, Three Days Grace, Tool, Disturbed, The Birthday Massacre - all belong on playlists. Good stuff!

BAHAHAHA me too - when I was in high school, I was in cadets. This other girl in the band and I memorized it so we could march singing THAT instead of whatever it was we were supposed to do. :) ...I stick ketchup on, well, my family would say anything - EXCEPT cheez whiz. I miss that stuff - they don't make it in VA like…

Me too... *blush*... they're great to work out to, and they put on a HECK of a live show... :)

I was in southwestern Manitoba, Canada. That's where I'm originally from. However, I was getting ready for work at the time and my ex had the channel tuned to news. I heard him yell from the living room, so I came running. It was one of those moments where it feels like time stops and you're just left there watching events…

I've been using Muscle Milk (Vanilla Creme flavor) lately, and it's pretty good!
-
WHAT on earth app is this?!?! Never heard of it before!
-
...would it be cheaper/easier on the daily intake to cancel the vendor and just pack your own stuff for lunch?
-
That's the spirit! This post makes me smile. See? You can do it...it's overwhelming at first but if you take it in strides, it's MUCH easier to take care of!
-
Yep, that's exactly what they're doing. Those posts are likely from one of the phone apps, too. I'm guilty of flooding Facebook with those as well...:ohwell:

Wow, you've never heard of it? It's great! I've done it twice now (lol), and am almost done week 2 this time. It takes you from a total running noob and couch potato (I was one of these the first time I did it) to being able to run a 5K in 8-9 weeks. I use Robert Ullrey's podcasts sometimes because the guy is so annoyingly…
-
Not sure if it helps, but Muscle Milk is GREAT in coffee... :)
-
LOVE. THIS. POST. 'Nuff said. :)
-
Yep - that's the plan...some butt kicking sounds fun right now!

LOL! I never saw running a marathon as a crazy thing to do but it kind of is... :) One thing I know for sure is, it gets easier when I get lighter (I was able to run something like 1 hour solid before, but was about 40 pounds lighter). It seems that a lot of people just keep trying and failing - but you CAN do this! Just…

Good afternoon - and congrats on trying to get back in shape! My husband and I are attacking our weight and food issues together too, starting yesterday. It's a big job! P90X is NO JOKE...have you tried it yet? I gave myself a concussion this past January by not being careful (but aside from that, because I'm a klutz, it…

Hey! Feel free to add me... :) I have about 100 pounds to lose (currently 224 pounds at 5 foot 3...yikes!!!). I'm trying to get back into my daily running habit, and trying to prepare myself for a marathon by age 40 (5 years to go...again with the yikes!)... it may be a tall order but with support, anything is possible…

Southwest VA here! Sure would be nice to lose this weight so that hiking in these mountains would be easier. :)
