http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/ErectorSpinae/BBDeadlift.html Man, the guy in this video can do a whole ton of reps... :)

Universal or CV life insurance is simply term life insurance, plus they charge you extra money that will cover first year commissions of OVER 100% (no joke there), and they will happily invest the rest in their own portfolio and share with you only a portion of the returns, with lots of rules around how you can get at it.…

Life insurance is a good point. Now that I've lost 55 pounds, I should have a much easier time getting through underwriting!

I'm an open book with a couple of questions: Single income family of 5, salary $145k plus 25% annual bonus. Age 35. Current retirement accounts total about $250k. I contribute 9% to my 401k, which just about maxes out my contribution, and my employer contributes 11% to my 401k as well (6% match plus 5% annual 401k bonus),…

I have the 4:30 AM shift, my wife gets the 6:00 AM shift.

On the other hand, I do love Bugles.

Hah, yes, sometimes my meals get logged in funny places. The Cheerios were actually a late night snack, because I was hungry, but I logged it on dinner because that's just where it landed. :)

Hah, I bought my "last pair of jeans, never going to get bigger than this I swear" at size 36, 38, and 40, before I finally turned it around. I'm wearing 34 right now, quite comfortably, and I'm quite happy about it. Also, I never wanted to be in pictures before, and I had a trip to Europe planned and didn't want to do…

Buy some peanuts and other nuts and make your own blend. Vitamix blender does this in a snap, but you can do it in a food processor too. Best ever.

No one has mentioned Zingers? They put twinkies to shame.

I think this chart is pretty helpful at getting your post-cooking measurements right: http://www.kraftrecipes.com/cooking-tips/foodbasics/pastaguide/pasta-measuring-chart.aspx Personally, I think spaghetti/pasta is pretty great, calorie-wise. A cup of pasta is quite a bit. Add a half-cup of regular marinara sauce and some…

Same calories as before I started stronglifts, 2 weeks ago. It's about 1600 or so per day. This is definitely still a significant deficit for me.

Hah, I already go at 4:45 AM. That's why I go so early - trying to beat the crowd. Somehow, these guys must be camping out overnight in a tent inside the power rack or something!

I have the complete test results, so I know the HDL/LDL levels as well. Truth is, for the first time ever, my HDL is actually higher than 40, so it's in the "good" zone. But, the LDL is way too high. That's the bad one. I just started weight lifting last week, 3x per week. The other 3x per week are cardio, and I take one…

Thanks for the encouragement. I guess I don't feel like a total weakling!

Boa sorte!

Hah, good advice. Thanks for a funny visual, too.

Wow, thanks for all the quick replies. I like the idea of just buying my own 2.5lb plates so I don't have to go hunting. One more follow-up question - if you are doing deadlifts or barbell rows, can you just take the bar from one of the benches where it is sitting to go somewhere else to do them? I think my gym has one bar…

This thread brought me out of anonymity. I hate: "Just, no." I also hate "^ this," "/thread," "BMR," and "TDEE."
