  • My absolute favorite is the Celestial Seasoning Madagascar Vanilla Red rooibus.....it is AMAZING and zero calories....I put a spenda in it for a guilt-free warm beverage at night sometimes. I love love love it. If you've had the Starbuck's vanilla rooibus, it's just like that, but way cheaper.
  • Monkey business trail mix from Trader Joe's!
  • I've been using the daily workout apps that are FREE.....I especially like the butt one and cardio one....I also like that I can pick 5 minutes as the lowest, since I use it to supplement my other workouts. It shows you a video of how to do the move and each exercise only lasts for 30 seconds. In the app store, just search…
  • Yup, it's part of my workout routine....I can't do the same thing every day, so I mix it up with elliptical, zumba, and Ripped in 30 video too. I love both of Jilian's videos that I have....definitely easy to bust out and get over with, on days I don't feel like going to the gym. Love 30 day shred and Ripped in 30!
  • Swimming!!!! It's easy on your joints and low-impact. If you don't have access to a pool, at least work your upper body and try to get your heartrate up for your cardio.

  • Way to go! I'm a shorty too...5'2". I have been off-and-on with MFP, so I definitely could use more virtual friends to encourage me and keep me accountable. Anyone can feel free to add me.
  • Besides, the Keurig, I'll probably buy another Harveys seatbelt bag....(though, honestly, I will buy another one even if I don't reach my goal. Love them!) I used to love Coach, but I hate that they're made in China and use exotic animals. Harveys are made from seatbelts and made in the USA!
  • BooBoo Holiday (using the 'ole first pet name/street you grew up on method)
  • I'll allow myself to finally get a Keurig coffeemaker. There's one at Costco, but I can't buy it until I lose 6 more pounds.
  • You might've lost fat, but also gained more muscle too, which weighs more. Keep at it and you will see results.

  • Warrior dash was really fun! I'm trying the Color Run this year too, which looks like it'll make some awesome photos.
  • I just did it! I love 30 day shred, but I also do Ripped in 30 too. Both are great and I love that I can be finished my workout in the time it would've taken me just to drive to the gym.
  • Enjoy your birthday dinner! One day isn't a big deal, but I still would log it with a rough estimate of "quick calories"...ballpark figure, and write a note about it, so you can at least remember what it was later. Have fun and enjoy!
  • I keep seeing one at Costco that taunts me.....everyone that I know who has one loves it, but I haven't been able to commit to the expense yet. Perhaps that can be my reward when I reach my goal weight!
  • I love 30-day shred and Ripped in 30, but I also mix up my workouts, so I can't say that those DVDs alone help. I can't do a DVD every single day, so I also do Zumba, and switch up the DVDs at least, so I don't get bored.
  • Don't give up....if you just started, you'll need a week or two to know what works for you....just be sure to log everything and adjust accordingly. Everyone's body is different and what works for one doesn't work for another. Just keep at it, get a minimum of at least 1000 calories a day and go from there. You'll find…
  • Yes, you should eat back your calories if you exercise...the setting you chose for your weight loss already includes the plan for LOSING weight. If you're set to lose weight at 1200 calories and then you exercise 300, you are actually allowed to eat 1500 for that day and STILL be on a weight-loss plan. If you don't eat…
  • I'm a teacher without a classroom...earned my credential 3 years ago and have been subbing ever since. I did become a temporary first-grade teacher and had a classroom for almost the whole year, but am still hoping for a permanent position this fall. It's so disheartening sometimes because I'm so ready and there just…
  • I agree that you should talk to a nutritionist.....you definitely shouldn't be gaining. I do think you're not getting enough calories...I think 1400-1600 for your height/weight is WAY TOO LITTLE...your body could be holding onto the fat because it's in starvation mode, which might explain why you're not losing. I would do…
  • I eat lots of grilled chicken....sometimes I cook it on the mini foreman grill and just dip it in salsa....or I eat it with BBQ sauce or cut it up and put it on a salad. I found lots of delicious recipes on Pinterest (just had the garlic 4-ingredient one today which was awesome and quick). For sides, I try to have steamed…
  • I'm the same way, eating out of boredom....if I'm home, I tend to eat more. I'm a constant grazer. However, try the gum idea and also brush your teeth. For me, if I have a clean minty mouth, I don't want to junk it up and food doesn't taste that good right after brushing. Sometimes that helps.
  • MiraLax is the best thing ever!!! It's safe to take daily and it's so helpful because it's not a laxative, it's a stool softener. When fiber supplements and lots of water don't work, try this. Seriously, it is amazing with no side effects. From someone who has had a lot of problems in that area, let me say it's a miracle…
  • I love being held accountable with my food diary. If I have junk, I have to add it and sometimes I'm over my calories for the day. As long as every day isn't like that, it's okay if every day isn't perfect. It makes me question it though, do I really want this? Is it worth it? At night, I usually have a cup of hot tea with…
  • Same here...I had food the county fair the other day (I can't go to it without indulging since it's only once a year)....but as long as it's not every day that we fail it's okay. I can not diet and restrict myself from foods I crave, but I just try not to indulge a lot. It's all about balance.
  • I'm not new, but I fell off the wagon for awhile, so I'm recently-new again. It helps having support, so feel free to add me too. It helps keep me accountable sometimes when I see others succeeding.
  • I love it! I have that one AND ripped in 30 and both are great for me. There are 3 levels on each, with a high/low impact version of each level. I like it because it's only 20 minutes and I can be finished in the time it would've taken me just to drive to the gym.
  • I did it last year and it was awesome! So much fun and makes for great pictures too. I definitely recommend it...you can walk what you want and focus on the obstacles...just have fun!
  • So, I still love 30-day shred, but I just bought ripped in 30 today and did my first workout and holy cow, it whooped my butt! I love that it's the same concept (3-2-1) as 30-day shred, but I was bored of those workouts and now I'm excited to have something new to try! I never can do the diet plan but at least I can get…
  • Coffee with Coffee-mate sugar-free vanilla makes it creamy and sweet and only 15 calories/tbsp....my favorite tea is Celestial Seasoning Madagascar Red vanilla rooibus (sweet, vanilla flavor, NOT herbally at all)..delicious!!! If you can't find it, Starbuck's also offers vanilla rooibus tea (plain or as a latte, but that's…
