I did it about 7 years ago, love the program and it works. You may have to tweak it for yourself but you will be doing more all during it and after than you would have without it!!!! I am currently finishing week 7 and have a 5K scheduled for March 16th!! Try to do it outside rather than on a tread or track, it makes a…

I also live on the "dark side", up at 4:00 am, hit the road by 4:15ish, at the gym (standing in line with all the other nuts) waiting for the gym to open at 5:00, first class starts at 5:05 am. I have a 30-35 minute commute both to and from the gym so I have lots of time to relax and plan for my day without interruption.…

Easy, easy app called C25K for Ipod or any other device that supports apps!!! There are several and all are very similar. They start you out with walk/run combinations for 30 minutes, each week the running part gets a bit longer and the walking part a bit shorter. By the end of 10 weeks (theoritically) you are ready for a…

You train, you run, you finish - YOU WIN!!!!! Time doesn't matter, especially the first time!!!

Thankfully completed week 6 this morning with a full 25 minute run!!! Week 5-6 are the toughest (in my opinion) as they have the biggest jumps in the run portion. All of week #7 is the same - 25 minute runs with walking only for warm up and cool down. Week #8 is just adding 3 minutes to the run and week 9 adds another 2…

I also suffered from jealousy, but not from diet pills. A close friend had liposuction and several years later is still thin, although we are no longer friends. Some of it is my fault as it bothered me that she told people that she did it with diet and excercise and not $10,000.00 worth of surgery and swore me to secrecy.…

Thanks, I have never counted housework or yardwork because it doesn't feel "intentional" but if I add my bowling at least I would have something to log for the weekend!! :blushing: I chased a two year old grandchild for 24 hours - that should count for something too!!! For me, the getting up and down off the floor dozens…

Thanks for all the reponses. . . . pretty much what I figured; that MFP estimates are pretty high!!!

I also lost 7 lbs the first week, since then it has been anywhere between 1 and 2 lbs per week, slow and steady and I am fine with that!!!

Amazing!! Trips must be a lot of fun and a LOT of work, I admire your even thinking about adding workouts!!! Good luck, lots of support here!!!

You must feel awesome!!

Don't give up when you don't see the scale move, there are other things happening in your body that mean more!! The weight will come off, don't count on the scale; pay attention to how you feel, how your clothes feel, etc.

Thanks!!

Forgive me: TDEE?? :blushing:

I am 57, nearly 200 lbs and go to the gym most days at 5am. I will agree that 90% of the people dedicated enough to be there at that time are pretty fit and much younger. I think that makes me special because I AM THERE!! I get a lot of encouragement from the younger crowd as I believe the appreciate that I am making…
