PLEASE check out yor surgeons past work and ask lots of questions. Do internet searches on them, look on forums, chat to past patients! I say this as someone who has had to see many terrible results from inexperienced surgeons/ ones who don't do a great many TT's and make a mess. In the UK look for BAAPS members (PM me if…

I have a shock absorber too (bright purple and blue, but nothing moves!) I have great intentions of trying the suit out in the poor. Our pool does a ladies only night which a lot of Muslim ladies go to so no funny looks when I rock up in more than a swim suit then!!!

Long suffering friend has said she'll put it in 2 french braids for me on the friday (tri on the sunday) so hopefully it'll stay put!
-
Thanks folks! Will have a go... fingers crossed!

I agree. The UK is as bad for overweight kids. Whe I was little we were lucky enough to have horses so every everning and weekend was spent with them, either riding, muck clearing, grooming, etc. Great as it'd be for kids to be out playing, sadly it really isn't safe a lot of the time. OH's 'step' daughter (long story!) is…

<-- curvy (but still with a layer of fat!) I agree curves are boobs, waist and hips/ bum, not rolls of fat!

Ended up with a Tiger frog one (see pic). very stretchy but seems comfortable, even gone down a size!

It's a pool swim thankfully! I have intentions of working with the coach J uses who has coached her sons to near Olympic level, Stephanie something. As long as I get over the finish line this time I'm not too worried, will def be working harder for my next one! Only entered this a few weeks ago and I'm certainly not fit!
-
Yep, J keeps on at me to start doing some brick sessions. I have the road bike back now and as work is an ok distance I'm commuting in on the bike atm, thn doing around 15 miles after work on it to do some hill training every 3 days. Swimming twice a week (managed the 400m in under 20 mins tonight, which considering how…

OH loves them, I use them with his turbo when I'm there, fab vids!

I have my first tri in 6 weeks (400m pool swim, 22k bike, 8k run), SO glad that I found this thread! I'm stil undecided between tri suit or 2 piece (sports bra is a given). OH is a tri veteran and is trying to convince me I'll be fine, the transitions are worrying me a bit, as it going off route as I'm not very fast - are…
-
Do you swim in your 2 piece too? How about sports bras? Do you find it rubs after the swim or that it's dried out alright by the time you get to the run (34GG there's no way I can do without one!!)

Problem is I'm very long in the body and HATE exposed middle!

I don't like how I look.

Horse... beast or burden... yes I certainly feel that way with the current situation :frown:

James knows what I weigh, and I know what he does. He's in training for the Welsh Ironman in September and getting really fit. I want to shape up and he's encouraging and supporting me. :flowerforyou: Sadly I need a REAL kick up the butt!!! :explode:

Bit daft... my age group is 15-29... Of course i have a higher average if they're including kids that young!!
-
Erm... my BF is 45... I'm 26... All of the guys I've dated have been at least 7yrs older than me. I admit J is the biggest kid of them all, age is just a number.

I grazed today. I've found that if I eat little and often that I tend to eat less than if I eat 3 proper meals. Admittedly I've just stuffed a pasta bake loaded with cheese down post cycle, but I'm off swimming in a couple of hours so it should have settled by then and be shoving some much needed energy back into my body!
-
I told James (OH) that I'd cycled to work, then willingly taken the long route back in the pouring rain and cold. He said that it was great that I was so motivated to get off my *kitten* and do stuff (believe me it's because of him!). I told him that it's only since meeting him, and knowing how much hard work he put in to…

Well said that woman! I was dreading the cycle home today as it was pouring with rain... so took the long route (1hr rather than 20 mins) and was a big kid zipping through puddles! Although I did loose my front torch thanks to a pot hole ( it was lovely and bright!) and ended up with water sloshing in my shoes!…

I'm doing something to better myself, why should you be ashamed that you're trying to get healthy? Surely anyone who has something negative to say about the fact that you're trying to better yourself, isn't really worth your time?!
-
Ok I now feel REALLY lucky having a super motivated OH who is encouraging me to do triathlons with him!
