  • Thanks everyone for the different responses so far, they have helped me greatly. Sometimes it is good to hear from others and be inspired to be like that. I think it would be a good idea to start off small, each small thing will count and will make the difference. I think my goals at the moment should be: -…
  • Try searching in Google how to make pizza bases using cauliflower. I've not tried it yet but I really want to.
  • I had planned to do Day 1 last night, but my computer decided to not work properly..... so need to wait til that's better before I can start.... grrr... at least I have other exercise options in the meantime!
  • I get roasting bags and cook them in the oven. They come out nice and juicy and still full of flavour! Yum!
  • I hate: Daft Punk - Get Lucky Sam Bailey (UK X Factor winner) - cover of Skyscraper Lorde - Royals Pharrell Williams - Happy Leona Lewis - One More Sleep Passenger - Let Her Go James Arthur (last year UK X Factor Winner) - Impossible
  • You just have to do it. Don't worry about what people think of you, they probably feel the same. Did you ever see the episode of Friends when Pheobe and Rachel went running? Phoebe ran like a mad person, arms and legs in all directions, made it fun and was just carefree, and think how likely are you to see the same people…
  • Feel free to add me (and anyone else) ..... I think I added you! If not, do!
  • Thanks Devin same here :flowerforyou:
  • Yeah I totally get this - cakes with thicker the icing, the better!
  • Mine can vary between sweet and savoury. For example, this week I really craved birthday cake for some reason. My mum got me yesterday an iced madeira cake with cream and jam in the middle and it was a good substitute for the birthday cake! I scoffed half of it! (I know baaaddd!) Mmmm! I can crave chocolate (particularly…
  • I did it for a laugh last year just to see exactly how much I ate on Xmas Day and it was around 4000 calories!!!
  • I do prefer to work out alone as I feel I can concentrate better. I go to the gym with my mum and as much as I love my mum and feel really bad for saying this, if she is on the machine next to me she will keep talking to me as she doesn't have much company during the day while I am at work, but I feel when I listen to her…
  • I think you should vary your workouts so you don't get bored. Being bored will make you feel less interested in exercising. I usually watch the tv to keep me distracted, but don't bring headphones unfortunately to get sound. Bringing your iPod can take your mind off your workout, get something catchy on! I have been using…
  • This sounds awesome! All my fave veggie options for a pizza! If I get a pizza from Dominos or Pizza Hut I get the veggie kind, but this is a much better option that I'm going to try out soon! I've heard about using a tortilla as a pizza base but it's not something I've tried out enough! *drools*
  • I just realised that I wasn't getting any younger and had never been a healthy weight throughout my life, so I wanted to sort it before it was too late. I hope to reach a healthy weight by the time I am 30 (just over a year). I tried fad diets to lose weight but was unsuccessful. I heard about MFP at Xmas 2010, joined…
  • Hahaha too funny! The things I do to keep myself amused for the last 10 mins of work!
  • My aunt and I were talking about this last night funnily enough and apparently she is allergic to it and makes her break out into a rash.
  • With seeds, I usually divide that into 3 portions and add 1 portion into my porridge as I'd struggle to eat a whole box on it's own. If it's any of the other boxes I just try to have one a day as a snack. I get my box delivered on a Tuesday weekly, but delay the delivery for the next week if I have not eaten my boxes and…
  • I'm from a very chilly Greenock! Feel free to add me! :flowerforyou:
  • I feel whatever goes in my mouth should be logged as it will have some nutritional content in it, e.g. vitamins, sugar-free chewing gum etc. I've noticed that some people create a separate meal section for vitamins and supplements, but I tend to log my vitamins under my breakfast as that's when I take them.
  • At the end of 2010 I was talking to my boss and she challenged me to lose 1 stone (14lbs) by my birthday in April 2011. I didn't know whether she was serious or not. But then I heard about MFP and checked it out, managed to lose more than 14lbs for my birthday and just over a year later I'm 30lbs lighter!
  • Personally, I don't think it's right for a 30-odd year old to be dating someone 17/18 years old as I feel the 17/18 year old is far too young to be in a relationship with someone that age. But if it's say a 30-odd year old dating someone in their 50s for example, I don't see anything wrong with that cos at least they are…
  • In my opinion, you've already raised your concerns with your friend and suggested MFP to her, so remind her that they have your full support when she's ready. My mum is about 14 stone odd (say 196lbs) and is diabetic, lost weight through diet control a couple of years ago (about 28lbs), but when I suggested to her about…
  • If I see the bad food I am fine and I can resist most of the time now. I will allow myself to eat these things but obviously in moderation cos I'd go absolutely mental!! But when I smell the food, that drives me mad! Like in restaurants or walking past takeaway joints! I live near a bakers, 2 chinese takeaways, 1…
  • I have been here almost 1 year and have lost 30lbs so far. At the moment I think my goals should be to lose another 16lbs at least to reach a healthy BMI (I'm currently 27.5, used to be 33) and also focus on toning myself up and do more strength training. From the weight loss things are a bit more wobbly than they used to…
  • I found it hard to drink 8 cups of water at first but I managed to get myself into the habit. I drink either sugar-free flavoured still/fizzy water, low sugar diluting juice and tap water. At breakfast, I have a big glass which fits 2 glasses worth of water and drink that with breakfast, this is usually flavoured water or…
  • Current job: Medical secretary/PA in the NHS - I used to love my job but I work for a complete moron now! Dream job: Something involving food, fitness and nutrition and being creative with food
  • I looooove Elf! Will Ferrell is hilarious in it! I recently saw Arthur Christmas in the cinema and would recommend everyone to go and see it!
  • I think I'll log what I can just out of interest about how much I actually do eat at Xmas! I think it's a good time for us to relax for one day and enjoy ourselves and can go back to normal after that. I think we are all sensible enough not to eat too much til we're sick like we probably used to do and will be able to…
  • Usually I measure out about 27g of porridge oats, milk about 125-150ml mostly unsweetened soya milk. I add various types of fruit usually berries or banana, with/or seeds, or season it with something like cinammon or a similar kind of spice. I've got a sweet tooth so I prefer it to be sweet rather than with something like…
