I don't know what Lima beans are.... :embarassed: Any idea what we know them as on this side of the pond?

mmmm! You haven't tasted my home-grown, forced, baby-pink rhubarb...! and I LOVE Coriander! Only things on my 'NO' list 1. Tripe (my French Gran used to try and feed it to us - bleagh) 2. fake/processed food like pop-tarts, or those McDonalds fruit pie things, American sliced rubber 'cheese', food that comes in squirty…

The photos are so photoshopped, his face is kind of distorted - it's just not right, just not right at all. Kinda creepy... :ohwell:

I suppose you're not. But I LOVE it! The stuff you call Fage in the USA (we call it Total) - full fat - om nom nom nom.... I eat it with almost anything. Shredded mint and it's superb with roast lamb, a drizzle of honey and some walnuts on top of oatmeal, a big dollop on its own on top of a lentil dal or veg curry....…

Don't any of you guys eat real food? Egg whites, low-fat this, low-fat that, spray oil. Yuk. I'm amazed you even reach 1200 calories. I eat whole eggs, full fat milk, full fat natural greek yoghurt, olives, olive oil, coconut oil, salmon fillets, walnuts, tuna, avocados, parmesan cheese shavings, 70% to 80% dark organic…

It's really not that complex, once you've found the foods you use listed in grams, they will be in your 'memory' (recent, or most used) and you can easily change the weight according to what you eat. I've just had a quick look and there are several bananas listed in grams - 'banana generic without skin' being one of them.…

Do you know me? I'm a 5'2" peri-menopausal tubby who is inching very slowly down on 1200 a day. It's blinking hard work, but I'm slowly, slowly getting there. MFP keeps telling me 'if every day were like today you'd be xxx in 5 weeks time' - sadly I never am! But I'll persevere. Right, I'm off to get my mid-morning…

mmmmmm sushi! Love it. In the UK we have a chain called Yo Sushi, who publish nutritional guidelines for their whole menu. If you look on their website, or Google 'Yo Sushi nutrition' you can download a pdf file and take it with you when you eat out - won't be exact of course, but will give you an idea.

Oh Emma love - I've just had a quick lookie at your diary... VEGETABLES! You've got to get some veg's into you (and I don't mean potato). I know you're a busy lass so if you've got a freezer, buy some 'steam bags' of veg's from the freezer section - this will give you a mix of broccoli, cauli, corn, beans etc in handy…

I know I said it earlier, but no one seemed to pick up on it.. Try and pre-log. It works for me. It also helps when you're deciding what to buy in the supermarket, then you'll have what you need in the store cupboard and won't be stuck staring at a rack of lo-cal soups at 7.30pm. Buy in eggs, nuts, dried apricots, yoghurt,…

Wow! you must have been one big baby! Seriously though, how tall are you, how old are you, what are your measurements and what is your BMI? Surely (as Tavistock says) what you LOOK like is more important? Don't stress about weight, it's only a number.

I was reading about this the other day - yes, he means 1) no complex carbs after breakfast (he then started on about how many carbs in a blueberry, which lost me). Also 2) vegetables are free, so stuff yourself with these. 3) eat in the right proportions 40/40/20 - protein/carbs/fat. To be honest, the title of his book…

This is a big problem for me too. I've just plugged in what I intend to eat today and it's come up at 715 calls! I know this isn't nearly enough, so I'm going to have a full fat latte in a minute, add a slice of bacon to my 2-egg omelette for lunch, and a handful of walnuts and a 5ml spoon of olive oil to my grilled salmon…

Got to be the proper Natural Greek Bio full-fat, or nothing at all! Flavoured yoghurt? Bleagh! I don't hold with 0% stuff either. Mind you, I don't have a sweet tooth. I soak jumbo oats and a spoonful of seeds overnight in water, then in the morning add a big dollop of yogurt, fresh berries and off I go - nom nom nom.…

Very surprised to see only 10 members of this group! I've been sort of following Zoe's plan for a while - ie, not mixing carbs and protein, cutting wheat and potatoes out, but very little seems to be happening. So... I'm starting the proper 5-day diet today, to be honest, I'm not sure what else to do different, except…

God, I have huge problems hitting my daily target, now I've cut out all foods containing sugar, also bread (to try and curb a yeast problem). Yesterday I had 2 eggs and a full fat latte for breakfast, cold roast lamb and a huge mixed salad for lunch, roast chicken and veg's PLUS a large glass of red for dinner and I was…

sorry, just read what I wrote - 500=woman, 600=man. :noway:

This was covered on the BBC science series Horizon last year. The doctor concerned (Michael Mosley) researched it thoroughly and had a full medical (including body scans) before, during and after. The most impressive thing was the drop in INTERNAL fat, around his organs. He didn't LOOK fat before. I decided to do it…

The most important thing is that they are NON consecutive days. Dr Mosely is insistent about that. I do Mons and Thurs and it's going really, really well. Tough at first, but you very quickly get used to it. A female takes in 500 cals and a male 600 cals on the fasting days. He says you can eat 'normally' on the non-fast…

Hello Lyn I started this at the end of January as I hadn't shifted a gram since the new year. I've been on it now for a month and a half and lost 3.5kg. I think it shocked my metabolism into action! The first day was hell, now it's much, much easier. I have a big mug of tea at breakfast time, then soup for lunch and a…

Started 3rd Jan - weighing 75kg. As of this morning I weigh 74.9kg. Gutted. That's with a daily dog walk too... Still plodding on though...

"Big fat zero" yep - me neither... :(
