  • Meh, to each their own. Yes, sometimes I notice the large array of unhealthy food in some people's trolleys, for example, but how am I to know whether they are just buying it as a one off for a party, or a fun weekend when most of the time they eat pretty well? And ultimately, who am I to judge anyway?
  • Well done! You look fantastic, so gorgeous :) And so healthy!
  • What the hell? I have never imagined such a concoction. It sounds amazing! Choc-chip cookie dough ice-cream bread.... drool!
  • Hey Katied, I'm sorry this has happened! This is something you should definitely be talking with your doctor about - missing periods, particularly for a long period of time like this, is something you really want to get investigated, and people over the internet just can't give that kind of advice. Good luck hon, I hope…
  • I tried a Walden Farms ranch salad dressing once and it made me want to spew! I cannot stand sweeteners like stevia and the like, the taste is really really strong to me, but I know other people can eat it fine and like it. I guess it depends what you think of that flavour and how it affects you :)
  • Ditto! x 1 000 000 000......
  • That's awesome - 11 kg is fantastic, and you can see the definition in your face more in the second pic. Well done!!!
  • This is a very interesting thread! I'm 176 cm tall (or 5'9" and a half) I'm 68.9 kg now (151 pounds). I have no idea what my goal weight is. I thought it was 69 kg, but I mostly chose that because that number makes me laugh! Mature, I know. Now that I am here at around 69 kg, I know that I would like to keep going. I have…
  • As a complete dental phobe, I can really relate to this. When we are afraid we put up with so much pain and discomfort, we don't even realise it. I have a fantastic dentist who does my dental work under sedation - it doesn't cost that much more than the usual dental trip (which in Australia is expensive anyway), and the…
  • Shannon, you rock and in a WHOLE lot of ways. I'm really glad to know you, you have made an everlasting impact on my life for years now, for many different reasons :) Enjoy 730 days tomorrow!
  • I always go to The Healthy Chef first - http://www.thehealthychef.com/ - heaps of great recipes, fresh ingredients, and nutritional info to give you a baseline.
  • This. Please feel very welcome to friend me. It helps to have people to talk with and share these things with - I am a lot more motivated since I found friends than I was when I was doing it all by myself.
  • For me the biggest (but happy!) expense has been buying clothes that fit me as I lost weight. But I'm glad to be in that dilemma!! And you can find really nice clothes at op shops (or thrift shops or second-hand clothing shops, whatever they are called where you come from!), if you are looking to save money as you continue…
  • Last night's dinner: Lamb saltimbocca with roasted fennel, and a rocket and parmesan salad with blood plum finishing vinegar. Delicious! And only 429 calories for the whole lot. Today's breakfast - banana and blueberry stuffed french toast, with cottage cheese and maple syrup. 450 calories, and worth every one!
  • Hey Candace, Welcome to MFP - I'm glad you found this place. In spite of the horribly difficult things you have been through in life, you clearly have a great deal of strength. Losing weight can be hard as it often means confronting the psychological reasons that helped to lead to gaining weight in the first place, and I…
  • Anybody know if we have carton/frozen egg whites here from free range chooks? Currently if I do use egg whites I just use fresh free range eggs and keep the yolk for something else, but I don't always HAVE something else to use it for and I hate wasting an animal's product like that. I've tried searching online, but all I…
  • I use my Fitbit as a nice estimate of my TDEE and to get an idea of what I do on a daily basis. I've found it to be a wonderful motivational tool - turns out I love to compete against myself, who knew! I have the One which I like because it does additional things to the Flex like measure when you are walking up stairs (and…
  • Stevia and anything stevia related. I get the worst taste in my mouth - makes me want to throw up just thinking about it!
  • A question after my own heart. I have been planning my Eurovision weekend for months. Currywurst and more wheat beers for dinner tonight! The first semi-finals were crap - the second night was awesome! Latvia got my vote for cheesiest Eurovision entry - four guys in silver sequins, doing white guy rap and stage-diving?…
  • This is really fantastic, well done on finding that motivation and sticking with it. I'm glad to hear you are feeling fit and good about yourself - that's the point of all this, so congratulations! :)
  • A food is just a food. It is an item that I have made the decision to eat. It didn't create itself with the grand plan of making me fat. It has no intentions or ulterior motives. It's not good or bad or naughty or evil or anything like that - unless you've added cyanide to it or something! We put those determinations onto…
  • That would be incredible. I would pay to see that!
  • There's a certain country who seemed to do pretty well with pizza for a long time - until companies in certain other countries took the idea and ran with it, turning it into a rather calorific oil-fest that some people mistakenly believe is still "pizza". Pizza is fine. I make my own pizza dough and use my own toppings,…
  • You look really incredible, and so happy too :) Well done on your achievement, I hope you are so proud of yourself!
  • Currently Canberra, ex FNQ and Brisbane! Feel welcome to add me :)
  • Clairelindy, That is really wonderful. You are a very brave person, I hope you can remember that, even though I know when you are struggling with these kinds of things you don't always feel so brave! I hope that your other half will be supportive of you and help you do what you need to do to stay healthy, physically and…

  • Dear Clairelindy, Well done for acknowledging the behaviours you have found yourself slipping back into - actually admitting they are happening and that you don't want them to be is a big part of moving forward! I'm glad you are talking about this, and I wish you the very best with moving forward in a healthy way, without…

  • I love, love, love tofu, and I love it plain as well as with other things, so possibly I'm not of much help! Extra firm tofu is great chopped into cubes and added into a stirfry - I like it with a chilli satay sauce. I also love agadashi tofu, which you can try making at home - basically lightly fried tofu with a dashi…
  • Wow, look at you! You are amazing :)
  • Hi Saleh, I'm not from the Middle East I'm afraid, but from Australia - but you are very welcome to add me if you would like :)
