I hate ellipticals! HATE them!! They make me feel all sloshy and motion sick. I don't really like bikes unless they have the upper body ergometer (meaning the bike thingy for the arms too.) I try to watch tv or do other things if my arms aren't busy too and then I find I have forgotten I am on a bike and just sit there...…

Also - Joseph's Flax, Oat Bran & Whole Wheat pitas are 60 calories and 2 g protein and just as tasty as tortillas :)

Calories Per Serving! 95 for 1tbsp PB 130 for most whole wheat tortillas 50 for 1/2 banana 70 for Tbsp chocolate chips If you wanna reduce the calories, use the 98% fat free/low carb tortillas that are pricier and somewhat smaller - but 50 fewer calories. Also I tend to skip the chocolate chips and either add a TEASPOON of…

LARGE for sure. I used the linked frame sizer and it showed me large as well (which means that I can drop 20 lbs and no one notices....but i can also gain 20 lbs and no one notices!) I anticipated that I would get large - I have a build like my dad and bone structure like mom (who weighs 95 lbs but wears a size 8 because…

I am always just happy if TOM doesn't bring more than 2 lbs with him. :)

Try to go a little less than that - I am sticking to 1300 calories but I am wanting to go from 216 to 180 over the course of several months. - Your body may need more fuel than mine just to stay alive. ALso make sure your portions are being entered correctly. And really look at the balance of what you are eating. You need…

I used to only eat it with no sugar added peaches... then I found the packages that are cottage cheese and a tiny cup of fruity stuff, YUM. A little sugary for some but OMG yum. Something new I tried last week: Made homemade turkey chili with lots of big tomatoes and peppers. It was GOOD but also HOT. Sour Cream is a no-go…

Telling her she needs to lose weight at her age will come across as judging her or loving her on the condition that she lose weight. Help her be more active and eat healthier and the weight loss will come on its own. It's been a while since I was an overweight 13 year old... but I was.. and my parents let me know it and I…

Danskin makes boyshorts that aren't Cheeky Shorts.... and also bike shorts... and slighlty baggier workout shorts. I usually wear danskin yoga pants.

Mostly squished chickpeas. :) About 50 calories and 2g protein for a 2 TBSP Serving. ETA: I don't actually like hummus... it's a weird texture to me... but it's supposed to be a great dip alternative.

I'm one of Krush's team mates and I really do feel like I skate better when I fuel my body properly! (This week has been rough but being able to have team mates who will beat the extra calories out of me is FANTASTIC!! :) )

As near as I can tell as long as they are not "Obscene" I have seen a couple of bikini profiles, so I don't see why not! :)

We each donated $10 to participate and half of the money will go to highest percent in 6 weeks the rest to the biggest loser in 12. :)

Kinda depends on the ages of your kids. Wii seems to have a bigger selection of games that get the whole family active. :) Also, I used to walk on the treadmill while I read when I was going to the gym and in classes - it's not for everyone, but I got a lot out of it. :)

I have always heard 12 times.

I get a pain there when I skate sometimes. I stretch it out by doing a stretch often called the pigeon pose. Start out on your hands and knees. Cross your left leg in front of your right and stretch your right leg out behind you while lowering onto your elbows on the floor. (Your left leg will be pulled toward your chest.)…

Perhaps a change in intensity? Perhaps you are like me and got your HRM flipped loose over your sports bra and it didn't connect?

MYTH: Eating late in the day is BAD for you. Really it's all about the net Calories. Eating and exercising to keep your net calories at the goal level daily is the only way to lose and if you get home from work late, skipping a meal because it is after 9 pm is just going to cause you to be ravenous the next morning!
-
I am assuming you have a 1 lb per week goal in my math here... MFP took your starting weight and lifestyle and said "If you slept all day because of your build/body, you would burn about 2000 calories. If you eat 1560 calories and sleep the rest of your day, you are still burning 500 calories more than you eat. That means…

chili made with lean turkey is 150 cal /cup cottage cheese is pretty low cal and filling and good with chili. (at least if you make insane hot chili and need to cool it down. :)

I would discuss it with her pediatrician or a nutritionist/dietitian first. I work in a hospital and there is a free nutritional consult available here with our RD. Look around and see if you can get her in to see someone. I wouldn't advise letting her know you are tracking her intake - it can lead to a lifetime of yo yo…

If you aren't due for TOM for another 2 weeks it would probably be too soon for OTC preg tests to work.

When I have been working out a lot I get this for about the first day of TOM... ETA: my TOM is kinda sporadic when I am around a lot of women... I also sometimes have 1-1 1/2 day "miniperiods"

MFP sets protein way too low, imho. I am on a roller derby team and working on building muscle while I trim fat so I manually changed my settings to give me about 100g protein daily and drastically reduced the carbs. They have a very generous portion of carbs on here as a default. I think I am trying for 35% protein 50%…

I eventually got over my scale obsession when I realized that if I rotated it I could change the weight on it by 18 lbs. Yay for non-level floors! Mostly my cats sit on it now, since it is in the corner of the kitchen near their food bowl. I weigh in on the SUPER accurate digital scale at the hospital where I work. (one of…

Also eat a high-protein/complex carb snack within 15 minutes of exercising - It may not cover all of your extra calories but if your body knows there is more protein right there it will help with fat burn and muscle building. This is a great time for Protein Shakes/smoothies (or peanut butter and a banana). Just be sure…

Some non-meats that are high in protein: Beans, Peanut Butter (though also can be fatty!) Greek Yogurt rye bread flax I dip my veggies in cucumber garlic greek yogurt - low cal (23) and 2 g protein per 4tbsp.

Campbell's soup website has a bunch of "pour from can, add, chicken, add rice" types of recipes. Even better - this link shows things you can replace in almost any recipe to make it lower in calories!! http://www.campbellwellness.com/links/healthy-substitutions.asp
