  • Welcome Caz  I'm Jenny, from Warwickshire. There's a few of us Brits about. I do Zumba too - usually three times a week. It does get easier!!! Feel free to friend me
  • I'm in - off to Cuba on Monday though so I'll miss the end  But - in a holiday mood already. Had the Freestylers 'Weekend Song' on repeat today lol - along with 'Push Up' and 'Warrior Dash'. Soooooo Starting Waist Measurement: 30inches Artist: Freestylers Song: Weekend Song *shakes her funky stuff*
  • I'll give it a go then - thought I saw him in the first few mins and really put me off! Thanks :)
  • Or anything from Lily Allen
  • Welcome Jester, Plenty of us Brits on here  Quitting the booze was how I started - small steps all get you closer to your goal:smile: And congratulations on quitting smoking!!!! - I quit Feb 1st and its been the single best thing I have done for my health.
  • Sunny Nuneaton here - feel free to add  MFP is a very friendly, supportive site with people from all over the world - but there are a LOT of us Brits lol.
  • Can't take anything seriously if Vic Reeves is fronting it lol. Might give it a try later.
  • I found it somewhat bland but I've only had it a couple of times. Added it to a mild chilli like I would normally add rice and it was....bland. But.....I only learned how to cook rice properly this year :blushing: Going to try cooking it with a vegetable stock next time.
  • Totally - in anything over 12C there isn't even a trace as it passes the Avogadro limit. The placebo effect can be powerful though and I wouldn't normally be concerned about homeopathy for weightloss - apart from the 500 calories a day!!
  • Well done  It is nice when you hit these milestones:smile:
  • Probably best to see a Dr. Could be low blood pressure, aneamia or a host of other things.
  • Plenty of us UKers here lol - from Warwickshire myself  Welcome to MFP! Feel free to add:smile:
  • Taste disgusting - like cardboard lol. Need to drink a LOT of water with them. Can be hard to get them all down sometimes. But they are filling and don't bloat me like some shakes do.
  • Nuts - Cashews, almonds, peanuts etc (all raw - not roasted & salted!!) - seeds, beans, avocado, olives. Jam packed full of goodness and high cal. Will trip you over your fat intake but it's all good fat!!
  • Just up the road from you in Sunny Nuneaton  We all have our reasons for being here - I wanted to loose weight for my holiday. What ever gets us started is all good:smile:
  • You've got a lot on your plate at the moment and it can seem over whelming so be kind to your self and recognise your achievements:smile: Eating healthy doesn't hae to be expensive. Local, in season fruit and veg tend to be cheaper if you want it fresh, but frozen is just as good for most veg. Mix it up with cheaper…
  • I prefer Zumba classes to the Wii or DVDs Same as I prefer going to the gym rather than lift at home. I'm a social creature wanting social contact and have the luxury of a good babysitter (the ex!!) But I do understand that others prefer to work out at home or can't get out ot a class. That said, Zumba is a pretty social…
  • The Wii Version is good, but I also much prefer the classes. Try youtube before you splash any cash - plenty of Zumba there - to see if it is your type of thing.
  • So sorry to hear your bad news :( You could be out of action for six weeks - or six months. You can work your upper body - if you are already doing weights you'll know there is a lot there you can do. Once out of the cast, there is swimming and you'll be given a physio program (well, in the UK you would) which would still…
  • As long as you bare in mind that the Wii scale is going to be callibrated differently to your usual scale and will be affected by the carpet etc. If the Wii is going to be a regular thing, then yes weigh in. As with the usual scale, it gives you a 'trend' over a number of weeks. Otherwise don't - as the Wii can be a…
  • I have very mild OCD and it is mostly under control - but I do shower at least three times a day. This is far too much by most people standards and there are medical reasons why this is unhealthy as it affects the ph balance of the skin. And my shower isn't working properly at the moment due to a water leak!!! So I am a…
  • Thanks for the info - that is high maintenance!! Definately wait until I have more time for them:laugh:
  • How big is your tank 1 diverchic? That is the set up my son wants for the 100lt tank - dwarf puffers and shrimp with maybe a snail or two. It has guppies in it at the moment to keep the filter going, but they can go back in the main tank.
  • Actually, goldfish are one of the hardest fish to keep in a tank. They are filthy and need a huge tank with serious over filtration to cope with their bio-load. If you can rehome them to someone with a pond, add a heater (and filter if you don't already have one) you could try much easier fish like guppies. I like…
  • Just got Guppies and a common plec at the moment - wonk be messing with restocking until after my holiday. One word of advice - add the Malawis in small groups and check the ammonia/nitrite/nitrates to ensure the 'mini-cycle' has finished before adding any more. And I'm sure you know to use media from the Juwel filter in…
  • My gym has a self spotting barbell for bench presses etc - it's fantastic!! Otherwise I do occationaly ask one of the guys - I'm the only woman doing weights at my gym. They're a nice bunch, it only takes a moment and they know I'd spot them if I physically could. Nice thing when I do that is they are very generous with…
  • At that weight I'd have thought focusing on toning rather than weight would probably get the better results. Since hitting the gym & doing strength training my weight loss has slowed (plus I changed my goal to .5lb a week loss) but I'm losing inches and getting some nice tone. But it will take patience!! Stick with it…
  • Are you actually taking measurements? You could be loosing small amounts all over. Try measuring several points including bust, under bust, waist (narrowest), belly, hips (widest), thighs, upper arms. Check every coupl of weeks. I bet you'll see some difference. The other thing is you might be losing mostly water and/or…
  • It is - but as good a plan as any as to what to do in the event of a Zombie appocolypse. I once spent all day arguing with the ex as to why Shaun's plan was better than his idea of raiding the local army barracks.
  • Yeah, I gained 3lb after I upped my weights. it has taken over a week to come back off but seem to be on track this week. On the plus side - I lost inches!! Even better than loosing weight.
