  • Week1 Day 3 8/10/7/7/9 (Rank 2) Should have done at least 10 on the last rep.
  • Week 1, Day 2 (rank 2) 6/8/6/6/7 I'm doing full push-ups. Thought I might as well go for it as I (just about) can. Did the test for the Squats - a disappointing 27, so I'm going to do the 200 Squats also. Thinking about the sit-ups.....
  • Hi maher - join us - you know you want to:smile: Day two hasn't been quite so bad. As yesterday, morning and work no problem. I didn't even use my inhalator until I got to work. Had to change in a fresh cartridge during a meeting - that or strangle someone!! Swapped in a fresh cartridge when I got home and it has been…
  • Well, end of day one. I made it:smile: Between work and dinner was the hardest. I'm going to have to come up with some ideas for distractions. Roll on day 2:smile:
  • Well, this morning was OK. Usual routine, cup of tea, shower, breakfast, medicate dog, make lunch, go to work, work. Except without a cigarette. I did suck on my Inhalator a few times, but no desire for a ciggie. Drive home, little pang. Since getting home at 2:15 PM, I have gone to have a cigarette that many times.it is…

  • I'm quitting on Tuesday - Feb 1st. Last time I quit I last about six months, then fell down at the works Christmas Party. But, now you can't smoke in pubs etc I hopefully won't have as much temptation:laugh: Last time I actually lost weight when I quit as I had so much more energy and one of my distractions was to go for a…
  • Sweet - does he do the Min Pin 'scream' ?
  • How about a walk in the evening? That way you won't disturb the family. I started my healthy life style by quitting alcohol. I'd used it to help me sleep as otherwise my Partner's breathing/snoring kept me awake. That first week was soo difficult - no sleep. Second week, introduced healthy eating. Still, no sleep. Third…
  • 3 Dogs, one cat, indeterminate number of Guppies (and a Plec) Murphy - Glen of Imaal Terrier, 13 years old. Calm, confident leader. He has Cushing's disease but the medication manages it well. He's a good boy, very friendly and obedient as long as you let him think it was his idea in the first place. Sadly he never thinks…
  • My diary is open. Feel free to take a look & friend me if you like. Sadly, my breakfasts aren't very inspiring - Special K or Alpen, Cup of Tea & sometimes I have my Banana early:laugh: There was that day I had Key Lime Pie for breakfast.....that won't happen again - I was hungry less than an hour later:laugh:
  • I want to look half decent and be fit enough for all the activities on my holiday in July - going to Cuba!! I now have a mini goal - fitting into one of my favourite dresses and having the stamina to dance the night away at a Salsa party 26th Feb, then do a dance workshop the next day!! Ideally I'd like to lose 4lb by the…
  • If you are allowed some fruit then go for prunes, figs or pears. If I have a 'problem' I go for a fresh fig & pear salad (fig & pear chopped up with natural yogurt & honey) washed down with prune juice. Works every time! I find salad (lettuce, cucumber & celery) helps keep me regular but doesn't 'fix' a problem…
  • I had a real burn up day last Saturday - over 1200 calories through Zumba, swimming and dog walking. I even wore ankle weights to do the weekly shop (didn't count those cals though). Considering three weeks ago I didn't do any exercise, that was good going for me! So, for my tea I had half an Asda Pizza at something like…
  • I like a banana before and sometimes some nuts after rather than a supplement though I'd think some brewer's yeast before wouldn't hurt - jam packed full of B vitamins.. What really helps is plenty of water and sticking with it - it does get easier! I take a multi vitamin each day - not sure I really need it but my energy…
  • Couldn't agree more. I changed the battery in my scale and it said I was 5lb heavier!! If I was the weight my scale said, I wouldn't have gotten into my favourite jeans tonight!! Getting back into my nice clothes, feeling and looking better are what counts in my book.
  • Absolutely love Hummus. Asda do 30g low fat tubs - perfect light lunch with celery, cucumber, carrot or peppers (any dippable veg really) Home made is a chore but tastes so much better.
  • Using 'professional' scales is a good idea, thanks. Taking the son swimming in a while, I'm pretty sure there is a scale at the baths - I'll weigh myself there. If not, there is one in the multi-story car park in the town centre - I can weigh myself when I go buy a new TV!! Every cloud has a silver lining  (Yes, I…
  • Thanks all - I know I've lost weight - those inches gone, I can see it in my face and my clothes are looser. More importantly, I feel better - more stamina, more energy, sleeping better. I think I'll skip my weigh in this week, take a deep breath, go to my Zumba class and put the new, accurate weight in next week when…
  • Wow - I was thinking of starting a thread on the same topic - starting Feb 1st too!! I'm in:smile:
  • Hi from Warwickshire:smile: I was up in Yorkshire for my summer holiday last year. Beautiful County:smile: Jenny
  • Welcome, I'm from the UK too - near Coventry. Been on MFP a couple of weeks now and finding it really helpful. Jenny
  • My absolute favourite meal of the moment and super healthy - had it for dinner tonight. I use Bulger instead of Cous Cous as it doesn't need cooking - just soak for half an hour. http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/7205/superhealthy-salmon-salad Jam packed full of goodness. The Salmon isn't cheap but the cous cous is,…
  • First Zumba class tonight - absolutely brilliant. The teacher was impossibly perky but sooo nice - she kept saying not to worry if you don't get it, just make it up, just keep moving, just enjoy yourself. That said, most of the moves were not that complex - a few were!! But, on the whole not too difficult. The big thing…
  • During the week, if dog walking, early evening before their dinner when my Partner gets home to look after Son. Any other exercise is when ever there is a class on in the evening. At Weekends, early afternoon so I can take the dogs over the fields for some off-lead. Not a morning person and I have to be at work by 8:00am…
  • According to Wikipedia, exactly 45 minutes. Not going to mention which CD we usually 'dance' to.
  • One word of advice - afterwards don't say "Well, that has to be a couple of hundred calories burnt!" I had a hard time convincing my partner that it was a compliment!! firefoxkensie - you shouldn't put ideas in my head!! ***looks on Amazon for heart rate monitors....***
  • Hi Lorna, Quite new here myself, from down the road from you - near Coventry. I'm really enjoying the site & finding it very helpful. Jenny
  • I love banana and walnut cake - perhaps not really low calorie but the banana and walnuts are healthyish. Got a great recipe in a book somewhere but there are a few good ones on the net.
