I quit cold turkey for a whole month, now I can have one as an occasional treat (maybe 1 a week if that) but I knew in my case it had to be none at all in the beginning or I would give into wanting more. your diary is not public so it's hard to know what you are eating. Are you logging everyday faithfully, and everything you eat (even a bite of something or the "bad" stuff) I don't put it in my mouth until I put it in the app. Are you using "empty" calories (such as sodas?) My afternoon snack is a 60 calorie Jack Links beef jerky & 60 calorie reduced fat cheddar cheese stick. Full of protein so its filling & I think its yummy :)

I signed up for the same 5K (Houston) I even created a team & got several friends to join in. I am WAY out of shape & have never done anything like this...but have been trying to walk / jog 2-3 miles each day to get ready. I decided to do it because it's not timed and seems like fun. For me I hope it leads to tougher 5Ks…

That I would never be over weight (when I was 16 y/o & a size 3) Since being fat that I could lose 5 pounds a week by being healthy...it takes longer :sad:

I agree I'm 5'8" and still have a ways to go, but my goal is 175. I actually had a personal trainer tell me if I dropped below 170 I would be losing muscle & it would be unhealthy.

Plan out your meals; be sure to include things you enjoy eating so that you don’t feel like you are depriving yourself. Mine is open & just over 1200, but I do agree with others that 1200 maybe a bit too low for you. I let MFP adjust my calories based on my weight, what I need to lose, & my life style. Also, no one should be trying to lose more than 2 pounds a week...quick weight loss in the long run is not good!
