Oh Hi. 50ish female here as well. Feel free to add me as a friend. I'm here every day.
-
So was I! Awesome find, OP. :drinker:
-
I think what keeps me motivated is that my gym is block from where I live. I have to drive by it on the way home and its easy to just turn into the parking lot. I mean why not? Its not like I'm going out of my way to get there.

Dinner. I work out after work and like to have a nice dinner after. I eat both breakfast and lunch at work while I'm working.
-
IN For cheesecake.
-
This, but even better if you stuff a mini Reese's cup in the middle of it before you bake it.
-
Team cilantro all the way! I've been making fresh pico de gallo with it for the past couple of weeks. It has to be fresh cilantro, though. Old stuff does taste like dish soap.

I like this recipe from Skinny Taste: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2009/03/petite-turkey-meatloaves-45-pts.html You don't have to do it as petite loaves, but I find it helps with portion control.

Sigh...how I wish it was that easy! I am pear-shaped too, and I keep losing inches while lifting on a deficit. I would kill to be able to add muscle or "bulk", if you prefer, at the same time. If only I could be a special snowflake!
-
Great! I mean, its good to know in advance what you are going to eat, but life happens! Don't be afraid to eat some ice cream, fruit, or whatever when you need more calories to meet your goals.

Synthetic blood. True Blood already has it covered.
-
Haven't you noticed everyone's age has been removed from profiles? That is to hide how many immortals are lurking about MFP. Not all of them are vampires, of course. Its the zombies you really need to worry about.

I read Sronglifts, then started with New Rules. Currently I am doing Bret Contreras Strong Curves program. It consists of squat, DL, OHP, bench, and rows with glute-specific lifts like hip thrusts and glute lifts. It is actually not as complicated as some of the New Rules books.

I heard she had very high Marx in school.
-
OP, if you are exercising more it could take up to two weeks to see the water weight gain stop. That is what happened to me when I first started lifting again. But since then I've been losing steadily. Patience is key.
-
Oh good. Another body shaming thread. I think most of those women look healthy. Heidi is looking fab for having 4 kids!
-
Yeah, I'm ready to ban her too. I think the closest I ever got to key word was posting "you can't spot-reduce fat" in a thread about said keyword that shall not be named
-
No, ice cream is the devil. HFCS is a mere minion. To the OP, like many others have said, moderation is key. And they will pry my fried chicken out of my cold, dead hands.
-
Great read. Thanks for posting it. Tom has put together a logical and sensible path for weight loss.
-
Thanks for posting the yummy food porn pics again, Hoss. You rock! :drinker:
-
I would also suggest hip thrusts and glute bridges with weights. Look up Brett Contreras on You Tube for form tips.
-
Wow, talk about curvy!
-
Too true.

Hey. I'm 50ish and I've been on MFP for about 2 months. I was on here before but kind of got busy during the holidays. It isn't hard to lose weight at this age if you just eat at a deficit and train. I lift and do a little cardio and I've been losing a pound a week, which is pretty good since I don't have that much to…
-
This happened to me, but it was the guy that was too serious. Slow down, people!
-
Ya know, that's true! Whenever I meet a woman taller than myself it freaks me out a little bit. And I am tall.
-
Sounds like a recipe for gaining all of the weight back as soon as you start eating normally. Good luck!
-
I've never been to Aldi's but I freakin' love Trader Joes! So much great, healthy stuff for such reasonable prices. Not to hijack the thread, but they opened a TJ's near me that had a long-time Safeway store across the street. As of last weekend, the Safeway closed it's doors. Such is the power of TJ's.

Hi. I'm 54. Anyone can add me if you want. I'm about 15 pounds from my goal and I lift weights several times per week.

I love fennel! Roasted is great. I also use it with fish. I make baked cod with diced tomatoes, fennel, kalamata olives and a little herbs de provence.
