Me too! I'm curious to see how effective they are. I just started them this week.

I read that article last night and I think it brings up some excellent points. I was talking to my employee at work about it today. She has MS and is quite young. She is always upbeat and very positive. Her take on it is why would anyone not do something about being obese? After all, they CAN do something about it before…

Yes, you are correct. Sometimes we do get that mindset and think "less is better", but in the end we need to remember not to be in too much of a hurry. Cograts on quitting smoking, OP! I did that myself a couple of years ago, and I know how tough it can be. Hang in there!

The day before yesterday your calories totaled 850. If I were to venture a guess, I'd say you aren't eating enough. There are tons of threads on here about figuring out how many calories you need to fuel your body and work outs while losing weight. That is assuming you're logging everything you eat.

I LOVE deadlifts! Being a tall woman with long arms and legs makes them the perfect lift for me. My fist lift was 95 pounds. Squats I don't love as much, but I still do them. I also like one-leg RDLs .

Hip thrusts, deadlifts (both regular and Romanian), planks, side planks, glute bridges. Also, Bulgarian split sqauts and one-legged RDL.

You look amazing! Strong really is the new skinny. Congrats! :drinker:

This is exactly what I do! I go to the gym after work, so I eat my largest meal at night. I often have a nice glass of wine and some frozen yogurt with chocolate chips after. That and heavy lifting is working for me. Oh, and I'm 54 btw. Tracking calories and working out is a commitment, but if you're willing to make age…

Epic effort, OP. Well played! IN for popcorn of course.

I'm just a poor boy. I need no sympathy.
-
Dang, I was going to use that. I like being single, but sometimes I feel like all I do during the week is work, work out, pack food and my gym bag for the next day and hang on MFP.

The only thing that bugs me at the gym is bros who leave 300 pounds loaded on the bar. I don't have time to de-load your weights!
-
IN Anyone got popcorn?
-
Yes please! I have a glass (sometimes two) most every night (weighted and measured of course).
-
You look fantastic! Congrats on your achievement. :flowerforyou:
-
Yep, for sure!
-
Lean. Not that you look bad in the second picture or anything. I just prefer your look in the first.
-
Who doesn't? Nerds are hot.

I only breathe when sleeping. No time of that during the day.

I tried the chocolate. Once. It was terrible. So bad that I tried one bite and threw the rest away. And I am an ice cream lover!

Hi. Good luck on your weight training! I am 54 and I've don't it off and on for the last 15 years or so. I just got back into it and right now I'm doing 100 LB deadlifts. It will make a huge change to your body composition if you keep at it, and you are never too late to start. Just go along at your own pace, and don't try…

The main thing I have learned is that if you are over 40, you pretty much have to work out regularly even if you do have a healthy diet. I'm pretty sure my set point for weight is about 10 pounds higher these days without working out than it is with it.
-
I'm not exactly sure what your goals are, but normally when people start weight training they do full body work outs three days a week or so, with either cardio after lifting or on alternate days. NROLFW is a good place to start, or look for some beginner routines on bodybuilding.com. Good luck!

Trader Joe's Vanilla Greek frozen yogurt. 100 calories and 6 grams of protein per half cup. Great with chocolate chips and almonds.
-
I do 10 minutes warm up on the bike or treadmill before lifting. I do my cardio on days I don't lift (30 minutes interval 3 days per week). I guess it depends on your goals. If you progress to a point that you're lifting heavy you probably don't want to expend a lot of energy doing carido beforehand. At least, that's the…

Congrats! That is a great accomplishment. You should feel very proud to be in the healthy weight range. Keep up the good work!:flowerforyou:

I have never been a morning person and I like to sleep. I go after work. Jerry, you are right that sometimes it is too crowded, but I normally start after 6:30 and I do lifting T-TH-SU so I'm opposite most of the bros. I don't have problems slacking since I have to dive by my gym on the way home from work. Best thing is do…

First, are you tracking your calories? Second, the more sugar and starchy white carbs I eat, the more I want. Make sure you are getting adequate protein from lean sources. Try to incorporate protein and fibrous carbs (fruits a veggies) in every meal. Also, you need to have some willpower. Everyone has it in them. You just…

Thanks for the back up. And happy belated birthday! :drinker:
