Just for fun: Spring is a time of renewal and rebirth. What new…

4/4: 3.6 miles Getting off to a slow start--been sick since last week Monday. These were *outside* miles today. Nice to leave the treadmill behind!

I use this as a guide: http://winefolly.com/tutorial/wine-nutrition-facts/ Wine differs according to how much sugar and alcohol (ABV) it contains. You can get a rough estimate from the chart contained in the link, and then compare that to what you see in the MFP database.

Cooked beans freeze really well. I keep what I can use in a few days in the fridge (in the cooking liquid). Anything else, I freeze in a quantity that I can use once thawed. The beans going in the freezer should also be covered in the cooking liquid. To thaw, just put the frozen block of beans/liquid in a pot and warm up…

No kidding. I still mourn Madison's late Somali restaurant (similar cuisine), Horn of Africa, even though it's been gone for years. Food was amazing, and the owner was so charming. I think she visited with every single patron of her restaurant. RIP.

3.51 miles today, mostly running. I've been sick since Monday, so fell off the wagon. Looks like I won't make it this month, but will try again in April.

Ooh. Thanks for reminding me of this. Love Sarah Silverman. Her interviews about this book were great.

It must be Wes-consin melk.

Le Carre's Tinker Tailor Solder Spy, for the second time. Plus, the current New Yorker on my Kindle.

I hear ya. Oven is going on right now.

What? 100g of broccoli has 5% of the recommended daily value of calcium. A cup of milk has 30%. You'd have to eat 600g of broccoli to equal the calcium value of one cup of milk. I like both--win win!

They're great baked with nothing on them. Tastes like dessert to me.

One suggestion: I see you have two young (very cute) children. One of the biggest things I've cut out of my diet are my kids' leftovers--you know, those yummy PB&J sandwich crusts they don't eat, rest of the slice of pizza, the piece of cake or pie not finished. If I do eat them, I log them. This morning my daughter didn't…

I would agree with this. I weigh every Friday morning, somewhere between 9 and 10 a.m. I also don't own a scale; I weigh myself on the same scale at my gym.

Another 3.56 miles today, 2.9 running and .66 a brisk walking warm-up. Five more days like this, and I can do it!

I'm in, but I've got to finish March first (about 21 miles to go)!

Not according to my kids. :grumble:

Homemade tandoori chicken, basmati rice, and a vegetable as yet to be determined.

OMG, I'll definitely be checking out your blog. Thanks for the recipes!

I would be wary of overly focusing on meals that are "low cal." This might be the source of your always feeling hungry. For me, too much austere, low cal eating would pretty much doom my long-term weighloss goals. That refried bean omelet I mentioned upthread was about 540 calories. It was my dinner, but I also eat them…

I love eggs and salsa as well. My version is a cheese omelet (2 eggs) filled with refried pinto beans and topped with salsa. Best meal ever!

Hi. I'm 5'6" and CW is 139#. When I started 30DS on March 4, I was about 144#. I just finished Level 1 (did 10 days' worth--it's taken me longer than I'd like) and wore a HRM to calculate my burns. According to my monitor, I burned between 220 (first few days) and 155 (last few days). The declining numbers are probably due…

SJackson50-- Holy cow, you look great. From your profile picture, I would have guessed 30. Hat's off . . .

I don't get it. What's the alternative? Gain those 40 pounds back? Stop swimming? Go back to doing what you did to gain the excess weight? You've been doing great! Don't let go of all you've accomplished. I'm not sure why MFP lowered your calories. Did you reset your goals, to lose more per week? If so, I would go back to…

Wish I had some pics for you--I'm terrible at managing photos. Anyway, I'm 5'6, older than you (48), and I started MFP around January 10 of this year. My starting weight was 158. At today's weigh-in, I broke into the 130s (139.0, to be precise). Pants size has dropped from a tight, muffin-top inducing size 12 to a roomy…

3.57 miles today, as usual on the treadmill. Looking forward to some warmer (spring) weather here so I can take it outside. ETA: 6 more runs like today and I'll make it!
