I'd like to think I'd work out just for the health benefits, but that doesn't get me out of bed in the morning! Knowing I'll actually get enough to eat during the day does! Who cares what motivates me as long as the end result is good choices and good health?

Do you have any teenagers in your neighborhood that would babysit? That'd be a pretty easy job, just come over and watch TV while he sleeps!
-
Good for you and good luck! I started working out on my elliptical back in January, 8 months after having a baby, and could only do 15 minutes. Then I thought I'd die! Now I can do 40 minutes and think I could go longer if my kids would let me. Keep going and you'll make it!

Take your kids and go play outside, just get away from the kitchen! We go for a walk or just play in the backyard when I get the munchies.

When I weigh myself at this time, everyone in my family suffers! Why on earth would we do this to ourselves when we are already emotional??!! And I always make sure to have lo-cal fudgescicles on hand too!

I plan a snack for this time of the day, usually 100 cal microwave popcorn, granola bar, or an apple, and then I get out of the kitchen! I usually take my kids outside or start a game with my 4-yr old so he will complain if I leave to eat!

Did this about 7 years ago and lost 20 lbs. It was really hard to give up carbs and I think unrealistic to expect a person to basically live without bread or pasta for the rest of your life. I also got pretty sick on it; my dr. thougt it was a big shock to my system. Thought I was pregnant for a while too. The weight all…

I think you should just enjoy your vacation, try to make good choices, and start logging again when you get home. If you have any room to pack anything, throw in some low-cal granola bars or something so when you are hungry you don't have to choose a snack at a gas station. This works great for me on vacations. I also made…

I quit nursing my son at 11 months, when he got top and bottom teeth! It did not slow my weight-loss at all, but I had not really counted in breastfeeding in my calories as he was only feeding 3 times a day and was eating quite a bit of food by this time. I was less hungry after this too. I also was very emotional at this…

I always ate my exercise calories and lost 20 lbs. Getting to eat more is my biggest motivation to exercise!

Awesome for you! I was bad this weekend, although looking back, I was probably only half as bad as the old me would have been, so I guess that's progress.

Oh, I thought I was going to lose it when my husband was away for 2 weeks! Good luck to you. I think it will help you that you have a goal. I agree with putting the baby in a stroller and going, not only are you getting a workout, but it's good for her to be outside and it's time with mommy. I can't believe you'd have any…

Congrats! She's adorable. Now, go buy lots of pink things!

My box of angel food cake came with directions to stir some cocoa powder in to make it chocolate. Then I made it into cupcakes. I think it was around 60 some calories a cupcake. Yummo!

I made this recipe from my Healthy Cooking magazine and it's really yummy and so lo-cal you can eat half the pan! 1 package sugar-free raspberry gelatin 1 cup boiling water 1 package sugar-free cook-and-serve vanilla pudding 1 cup cold water 1 package (12 oz.) frozen unsweetened raspberries, thawed 1. Dissolve gelatin in…

I have asked my husband why he doesn't help when I am clearly frazzled and he always says, "Why didn't you just ask me?" I honestly think he doesn't notice. I think they just don't see it. And it doesn't bother him if they house is messy or the kids are wild because he is really laid-back (which compliments my high-strung…

You'll love your steamer! I buy fresh veggies and steam them all the time. They taste sooo much better than any other way you cook them. Have you ever had the steamed veggie medley at a restraunt , like Applebee's? It's just like that. You will not regret it! And how on earth would you get by without a scale?!
-
Not sure from your post if you are a vegetarian, so then my tip might not work for you! I drink chocolate milk when I have calories left to use up. If you go for the 2%, that would add more. Also make sure you aren't still getting the low calorie stuff anymore, like get regular yogurt, salad dressing, etc.

Started in January, lost 20 lbs (my goal) by the end of April. Been maintaining since. I can't believe it was so simple. I wouldn't say easy though. But it was simple because the numbers were right there on what to eat to do it. But changing how I ate was tough at first. I am lucky my husband is on board too, so we just…

I Could Not Ask For More by Sara Evans - it's a country song that was popular in 2001.

I just started using ours again now with 2 kids and I love it! I was blown away by how many more calories I burn by biking rather than pushing them in the stroller. Bonus - my 1 year-old always falls asleep in there and my 4 year-old often does too. I got home the other day and both of them were out so I went 20 minutes…

I don't have a HRM, so I trusted all the numbers of the exercise and food logs and I hit my goal and am now maintaining, so I think they are pretty close to accurate. As mentioned before, don't overestimate your activity level. If I'm not sure, I go with the lower intensity. Good luck!

I know this seems crazy, but try eating more. Sometimes your body gets used to what you do everyday, so trying something different can kick-start things. I seemed to loose weight after a cheat day. I would be so scared after it, but then it seemed I'd lose an extra pound those weeks. Some people on here have had success…

I've been maintaining for 2 months and find myself going a day or 2 without logging. I pretty much know the calories of all the foods I usually eat and know what I can and cannot have. If anything, I underestimate because I am used to my "weight-loss calories" and find difficulty upping the calories to maintance. Many days…

Sara Lee makes a diet bread that's 45 calories a slice. I also love the whole wheat pitas.
-
I am having the same problem since switching to maintance too. I couldn't even bring myself to add the 500 calories back, just chose "lose 1/2 lb a week" and I still am finding myself under a few hundred every day. I NEVER thought I would have this problem. Some things I am trying include a glass of chocolate milk, no more…

Spend as much as you can afford for the basic pieces. Clothes from Ann Taylor Loft, Talbots, Eddie Bauer, etc. will last much longer than things you buy from Target or Old Navy; those places are great for trendy pieces you might only wear a year or two. Also if you go to the stores and figure out what size you are there,…

I'm on summer vacation too and at home with my 2 little boys. My strategy is making sure I don't have snacks that I love in my house. I buy cereal, graham crackers, string cheese for my kids; all things they like but I won't go crazy for. I also try to work out more and that gives me more calories. I also have "recess"…

I added a glass of chocolate milk to my day. Unfortunately when I saw 400 calories or more left at night, I started getting excited about adding back ice cream and other bad stuff. So I have to make sure to spread them out or just let them go.
