I'm doing a Paleo challenge with my crossfit gym and while I'm not following exactly what they are doing (Whole 30) it is motivational to be part of a group, we get emails that are very useful, and the before pictures and measurements gives me a goal- I want to see a difference. For me it's worth it and I got to know some…

I'm new-ish too, I started doing onramp in Oct. then a couple weeks of classes before being diagnosed with arthritis in both knees and taking off. I just went back yesterday and wow am I sore! The class I went to was amazing but only offered when I'm at work so I'm searching for the right fit. It's the only workout I've…

The occasional compliant Lara bar for me- I was just eating one for the first time this go around and feeling gleeful with how delicious it tasted then dropped half of it on the filthy floor. Fail.

Good for you for TRYING, soon you will be doing all sorts of new things and learning what works for you. I second using balsamic (but I like to add good olive oil and a sprinkle of sea salt and pepper). Keep trying new things, don't get discouraged!

I'm excited to feel better and detox and I'm glad to have a group to do it with!

I'm in, a group to check in with would be great, supportive, and informative. I'm not back in town until the 3rd but will join then. I'm already picking out recipes and making note of what I have in the freezer. Great idea!

I have a kitchen full of utensils and appliances and when going paleo bought new and more applicable *gadgets* so for me at least, paleo friendly kitchen gadgets isn't absurd. I put away the rice steamer, potato ricer, pasta maker, bread machine and bought a pressure cooker, spiral veggie slicer, nice metal skewers for…

I love both those ideas- I don't know if he has "It Starts With Food" but I do know he's struggling with the amount of reading he has to do in law school so that would be a good to-the-point book. I'd like simple slap meat on the grill and not add pre-packaged anything to it books (know he's used to buying premade sauces…

White Zombie/Rob Zombie Rage Against the Machine that 'light em up' song that's all over the radio right now

What is BCAA? I'm on week 3 of crossfit (my first week of real classes) and haven't lost any weight yet but I'm so sore I can hardly move so I assume I'm holding onto water?

I made it through on-ramp and last night we did a WOD and I got through it. It's harder than I thought and not as hard as I thought in so many ways. I'm terrified to take a real class, our box in a couple weeks away from expanding to triple the size and classes are maxing out at almost 30 people in a small space and I'm so…

I went to the intro last night. I almost had a panic attack walking in the box- it's HUGE (and they are expanding), people were sprinting outside to the inside and doing all sorts of crazy exercises, music was blasting, everyone was super fit and knew what they were doing. It was everything that's always intimidated me…

I'm going to the intro class Wednesday, I'm so nervous but it's time to stop putting it off and see what it's all about! Thanks for all the info :)

This is so helpful (and still a little scary). I think I'll be ok with being last and slow as long as no one is yelling at me or pointing it out (this happened in a bootcamp class and I don't think I've ever felt so down about trying something in my life). I drove by the box near me this weekend, I'm getting closer. I like…

That is very helpful, thank you!

Mike's advice is great!

Is there something else outside of food that is going on? Stress is my biggest hurdle in binge eating, I haven't broken the emotional tie to food that makes me think 'oh, eating this whatever it is will make me feel better right now so I deserve it' when I am trying to tell myself now that I DESERVE to feel better, be…

Sometimes when I get sick of meat I make a soup or stew where it's somewhat disguised and in a different form. Or I try a recipe with sauce. I love meat but I understand feeling sick of it from time to time.

I'm asking because I'm struggling. I am looking for new ideas about what other people are doing and reminding myself that yes, other people have to make an effort to sleep well too.
-
I'm going to run a fan for sure, for some reason my bedroom is a good 10 degrees warmer than the rest of the house in summer- so annoying. I need to look into covering the window with something more. Thank you all, I know my quality of life would be so much better if I'd focus and put sleep first.

I really should . . .

These aren't meatballs but I made them last night (cut the recipe in half) and holy wow they are GOOD! http://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/beef-stuffed-poblano-chiles

Wow, that sounds amazing kaelitr. I love gravy/sauce and need more recipes or ideas of how to make paleo ones.
-
Thanks! I'm also thinking of a paleo taco salad for later in the week, I'll have to find compliant seasoning.

"if your goal is to lose weight you have a caloric limit that you want to work within, all it takes is paying attention to portions" This doesn't work for everyone. Health isn't just calories in calories out. If it's good for you, great!

I'm starting paleo again tomorrow and plan on keeping track of my food and am always open to more paleo friends to keep me motivated and on track!

I can't wait until my body is proof!

I generally tell them how good I felt and how my skin/mood/sleep/weight improved when it's one on one but this is from a message board I'm on where a group is talking about Paleo and people are asking good questions then someone comes along posting articles about how it's not a good way of eating so I'd like to be able to…

I made some when I was fully being Paleo and it tasted weird. I did just the bones in water in the crock pot. Any suggestions?

Please add me as well. I ate Paleo for 2 and a half month, felt amazing, was losing weight, my skin was beautiful,y anxiety better then I fell off the wagon. I need to get back and being around and talking to others on the same plan is invaluable!
