I made it to day 9 then slipped and am back on, I'm only going for a Whole 22 b/c of an event but I'm part of the reset group and it's fantastic. I feel great and I think it's working so go for it!!

I'm back to 100% W30, I have dinner planned and lunches for the week. I'm trying to make it totally on plan until the 23rd!
-
I had club soda with lime last night, would that help? Maybe a splash of fresh fruit juice?
-
I woke up last night with a raging sore throat and feeling sick, I think this is NOT W30 related. I'm hanging in today and drinking lots of tea and water. I'm hostessing a dinner party tonight and making almost everything W30- a little amerato in the trout almondine sauce and I'm roasting potatoes I may or may not eat- the…

I'm on day 8 so just finishing week 1- I'm going to TRY to stay off the scale until day 22 (when I go on a wine expo weekend and will put W30 on pause). I'm dying to weigh in but I don't want to throw myself off, if I don't see a loss I might just eat ice cream!! I'm doing much better than I ever thought so everyone keep…

@vhuber awesome! I just finished the last of that soup and will be making more, it was really good and warming. I'm glad you liked it!

I woke up with a sore throat, not sure if it's diet or just a sore throat but here I am day 8!! I did xfit last night and it was brutal but I'm glad I went. Tonight will be a challenge with happy hour but I can do it. Tomorrow I'm having a small dinner party and making it Whole 30, I'll have wine for my guests. Trout and…

I'm doing well, I can't believe I've made it a week!! I am planning on crossfit tonight then dinner of chicken and roasted artichoke hearts. Tomorrow I'm going to happy hour and that will be a major challenge for me as I'm not drinking right now. I guess I'll see how dedicated I am!! I'm glad to have you guys to check in…

I made this soup- I couldn't find poblanos and the peppers I grabbed were pretty spicy. I pureed all the veggies and added the chicken later- seasoned with W30 compliant taco seasoning and cumin and I had a delicious warming dinner. Can't wait for having it again for lunch!…

My goals are pretty simple but for me might be a challenge. 1. go to crossfit consistently! 2. get a base PR on the board for most if not all things we keep track of (I don't know what to call it, lifts?) 3. not get injured - this sounds silly but I'm really new, really out of shape, and really over weight so even squats I…

I'm doing ok today despite a terrible night's sleep. I did go to crossfit last night and it helped with my mood. I had an avocado for breakfast, pulled pork, cauli-rice, and broccoli for lunch and would LOVE a good chicken soup recipe to make for dinner. It's super cold here and hot soup sounds lovely!

I'm on day 5, I'm surprised I'm here but doing it. So it gets easier from here on out right??
-
I slept hard again but was able to get up with only 15 minutes of snooze (this is good for me). Had a little beef stew for breakfast and pulled pork and cauli-rice for lunch. I hope to go to crossfit tonight for the first time in ages. I had a really bad work meeting this morning, like in tears bad and my usual go to is…

I'm on track day 4!! I can't believe it, I'll admit I've been cranky and sleeping most of the time and craving everything bad for me but I'm doing ok. I made this tonight and it's almost too good to believe- the cauli-rice makes it. I ate it with double roasted salsa but roasted veggies and avocado on top would have been…

I'm starting to feel cranky and am really mouth hungry, I guess I'm on the right track. Tomorrow I'm making green chili pork and lime cauliflower rice. I'm still on board!

Hi, I'm Lauren. I'm 5'2" and 189.5- I want to be 130-135. I got down to 161 last time I did Paleo and looked and felt amazing. I'm in St. Louis and glad to be part of the group.

I'm in 100%, already planning on sticking to Whole 30 as best as possible until a wine weekend event the 22nd. Then the plan is to get back on track. I've never been Whole 30 strict but I need it and know how good it will be. Glad to have a good group and support!

Hi, welcome! The first time I just made up my mind, for me it's really mental strength that keeps me on track. I'm trying a shortened Whole 30 in Jan. and a little nervous about the detox!

Congratulations, I love hearing the success stories! Great advice from Dragonwolf too.

Try French cookbooks, Julia Child, and possibly old Joy of Cooking books- used bookstores are great for old cookbooks!

Everyone has their own opinion, if it's working for you do what's best for you don't let other people dictate what is good and bad to eat.

starsandsquid that sounds amazing, do-able, and delicious. I love the idea of reheating meat in the skillet with pre-chopped garlic and onion. I hate the micro for most things and that makes it almost not like reheated meat. Thank you so much for sharing, I might have to do this one weekend and see how it turns out!!
-
Ask me about this in January lol.
-
Crab legs and butter artichokes red wine!!

October is my favorite month and I want to get the most out of it as possible and love the idea of this challenge- so positive! I'm in.

Um, I guess Charles D i c k ens is a bad word?

She came off as a terribly self involved, judgmental person. I do crossfit, I'm totally fat and bad at it but the super strong people there are the first to tell me good job even when I can't finish a workout. Her tirade was so stereotypical I lean toward it being made up to gain attention- only ****ens' characters are…

Jinks I love that Rogan Josh recipe and I use Penzey's as well- I love it with Lamb stew meat but have used lamb shoulder and it wasn't as tender, not sure why. I have a lovely strip steak to grill and will serve with a cabbage and Chinese mushroom saute.

Wow Rosey, that was very informative and a great reminder about WHAT we eat can make us feel hungrier. As soon as I read the OP's question I started wondering why, being as fat as I am, am I hungry all the time- you answered that well so thank you!!

I love soup, especially this time of year. Sadly, the only microwave I have is in a huge hospital cafeteria so it takes a long time to heat up. Chili, stew, meaty veggie soups are all filling and easy because you can make large quantities and freeze them so you have variety.
