Is MFP trying to go out of business? It's pretty useless without this feature. It worked well for years, now they've "fixed" it so that it doesn't work at all?

I used to drink Cokes (diet or regular) by the truckload. I had one in my hand all day long, every day- the same way some people do with bottled water. I realized it wasn't healthy, it was extremely expensive, and a PITA carrying all those sodas home or to work. So about 3 years ago, I quit "cold turkey." I missed them for…

I'm going to give it a try.

I suppose it depends on the person. I've been doing this for a little over 3 months now, and have barely exercised at all and have been losing weight steadily. Though I'm sure it would go faster if I did exercise.

Same here, I used to eat Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, KFC, McDs all the time. Now, I avoid fast food completely. On the rare occasion when I do get it, I'll go to Subway and get one of the lower calorie subs, without the sauce, and make sure they put tons of veggies on it (have them use fresh spinach instead of shredded lettuce-…

I started at 350, and had a goal of 250. But really, 200 would be a lot better. I guess 250 is the short term goal, and 200 the long term.

I work from home, and the refrigerator is about 30 feet from my "office." The biggest thing I did was to stop buying high calorie foods. I still eat a pretty large volume of food, but I stopped buying high fat, high sugar heavily processed foods. I buy chicken breasts and fish instead of burgers and breaded chicken…

Not hard at all. I'm just watching calories, I really haven't even done much exercise. It's been working so far, but maybe that's because I have a huge amount to lose (100+) and the first 20 are pretty easy? I thought it would be hard, but I'm fast food, pizza, and beer/alcohol free for almost 2 months now, and it's not…

I always ate a lot, but when I was young, I stayed in shape with sports. Then the military kept me in shape. After leaving the Army, I stopped exercising, but still at the same. Gained a ton of weight over the next 20 years.

My grandmother started to lose weight as she got older. By the time she was 90, she was probably down to 250. But before that, she was pretty heavy, I would guess 270 or so. By the time she hit 100, she was probably only 220 or so. I guess getting old is a great weight loss program?

A couple of slices of pizza should do the trick? Or I guess you could go with something high in protein like low fat cottage cheese or chicken breast.

MFC set me at 1990 also. I've been doing this for about a month and have managed to average probably 1800-1900 a day. I'm not losing weight all that fast, but at least it's going in the right direction after 20 years of going straight up. I'm surprised that I don't feel hungry (I was probably eating 4,000+ before starting…

Exercise. Or lack of it. It's not easy to get into it when I haven't done it much in the last 20 years (when I was 170 lbs lighter).

Maybe you aren't eating enough? I've been doing this for about 3 weeks, and am eating just under my limit every day, and I feel fine. If you try to cut calories too drastically, it could lead to feeling tired.

That's what I like about this web site- I can see the junk that I'd been eating was full of fat and sugar and calories. I'm still eating a lot of volume, but the calories are much lower, and it seems to be working. Less high fat food, less sugars, more lean protein and veggies.

I'm a 49 year old male and joined MFC yesterday weighing 345 (Max was 349 at the start of the year).
