  • Definitely a premium attribute. Haha, makes me want to buy it actually :P Edit: OMG I just found it, so now I look like a goofball. Thanks for the tip ;)
  • I think because so many different countries use MFP that net carbs would reduce accuracy. For example, here in Australia our fibre is not included in the gross carb total. It's a separate category altogether. So if MFP started subtracting it out for me automatically, many of my macros would be off.
  • Your body is adjusting. Give it time. If you're still sick in a week then get checked out. I get a similar thing if I fall off the wagon and have to restart my diet plan. Generally lasts a 4-8 days.
  • Just finished W6D3. First time running (because it only just fits me again) in my sports bra. Made the world of difference. I'm actually properly excited about the last 2 weeks!
  • My high was fitting into my sport's bra yesterday. It was a nice surprise as I thought I'd have to lose another 3 kg before I could even do it up, but apparently the weight is coming off differently this time!
  • There's a low carber group on here that many people are a part of, many keto-ers there if you are after support/advice. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group
  • Unfortunately I don't sleep very well and hakve 2 young children so getting sick (too often) is just a reality for me. If I stopped doing exercise whenever I got sick, I'd never get anywhere. I did it!!! So totally proud of myself! W5D3! I wasn't even struggling at the end. Thanks for the push @Just_Ceci :D
  • Thank you for the support all! I just finished W5D2, and felt like I was going to give up on both D1 and D2 runs, haha. But I didn't! I am feeling better now (thank goodness)! I think I'll have to redo D2 before attempting D3 though, I just don't think my stamina is up to it  @JasmijnRF Just curious, why do you…
  • Are you binging foods that you crave, or is it more mindless eating whatever you can get your hands on? Edit: I only asked because I crave, then I binge. 2 family blocks of chocolate, a large packet of crisps, any box of pastries I can cook in the oven. It gets pretty out of hand. I recently started (in the last 3 weeks),…
  • I'm with you there Hezrene. I was definitely a carb addict, possibly even a food addict. Coming up on my 3wk Low Carb High Fat lifestyle change and my cravings are gone. I eat when I'm hungry, which is nowhere near as often as it used to be. It feels like I'm doing such an excellent job and the weight should just DROP OFF…
  • Thank you for the clarification :)
  • Thank you everyone, you put my mind at ease :) I took your advice when I read it camtosh and went straight to bed!

  • I have read that, more about curries and spices though. They allegedly speed up your metabolism.
  • Thank you so much for the advice, ladies! It is all helpful :) I'll be sure to keep an eye on my supply as suggested and adjust accordingly. Slow and steady wins the race!
  • I'm using a blender. Thanks Brad805, I'll try the soup thing- may work out better than the smoothie thing. My issue being the only vegetables I LIKE are peas and corn, haha. The rest I attempt to tolerate =/ Spresto2: the only thing is I eat quite enough fruit, and enjoy it immensely. I don't really want to be drinking it…
  • I suggest that if you are NEW to calorie counting, you stick to focusing on achieving your calorie goal and ignoring the micro-nutrients (sugar, salt, protein, etc.). Focus on the calories, you'll lose the weight. After you've got the hang of eating within your calorie allowance, then start focusing on the micros, as…
  • Nobody has any advice, then?
  • You see yourself every day, so as the weight is slowly dropping off, you don't notice the physical change so much. Try to focus on your clothes. Are they getting looser? Have you had to buy new ones because your old ones don't fit? This is an awesome feeling, even if you still feel "fat". You'll keep feeling fat until you…
  • I get the feeling it was a troll question... but just incase it's not. If you feel you have you ask, then it's a problem. Though the problem may be with your outlook, not necessarily the age "gap".
  • I weigh weekly to keep myself on track and keep me motivated. If you're finding yourself lacking motivation if you don't lose in a week, then you're probably better off weighing monthly! Just be aware that if you start to change your habits, you can put ON a fair amount of weight in 4 weeks too.
  • May I just point something out to all those "muscle doesn't weigh more than fat" people. If you get two balls which are EXACTLY the same size, one weighs 1lbs, the other weighs 3lbs- are you telling me that the second is not heavier than the first just because the first COULD weigh the same if there were more? Of course…
  • “All right," said Susan. "I'm not stupid. You're saying humans need... fantasies to make life bearable." REALLY? AS IF IT WAS SOME KIND OF PINK PILL? NO. HUMANS NEED FANTASY TO BE HUMAN. TO BE THE PLACE WHERE THE FALLING ANGEL MEETS THE RISING APE. "Tooth fairies? Hogfathers? Little—" YES. AS PRACTICE. YOU HAVE TO START…
  • I found myself a water bottle that I absolutely loved drinking out of! Doesn't matter what's in it, it disappears within a few minutes- sometimes 30 seconds. I don't know what it is exactly about this particular bottle- the shape, the mouthpiece- whatevs, it works for me.
  • Brilliant idea! Might even keep the equivalent weight loss lying around so I can pick it up if I'm tempted by chocolate or that pack of chips xD When I'm disappointed in the amount I've lost, or I don't think I can see it, I always pick up a 500g tub of margarine and say "I've lost that."
  • In regards to having too few carbs/sugars- I was previously on a low-carb diet (about 4 weeks) before getting sick, so the amount I'm eating now is much more than I was previously. It's not lack of alcohol, as I haven't had much of that in over a year :P All very helpful ideas though, thanks guys and gals :)
  • Thanks ajnlee :) I'll keep that in mind. I'm certainly not skipping meals, and I'm 'healthy snacking'. Maybe I'll replace my sugar-free yoghurt with an apple or something next time and see if it helps.
  • Have you seen a doctor about your thyroid? I had an aunt who busted her butt exercising and eating right with no avail. Turns out she had an under-active thyroid. She took a pill to stabilize that and voila! Along with her new, healthy lifestyle, the pounds just dropped off! Maybe you should get checked?
  • I hate fish too, Amanda! And most vegetables, yuck. I can only stand some when mixed into something. I consider myself quite a fussy eater. I'm finding my diet quite easy to stick to though. I don't normally "add friends", but I'll add you and you can have a look at my diary if you want? Maybe it'll help! Let me know? Feel…
  • Don't give up!! What are you finding it hard to stick to? You say you're sticking to your calorie allowance, and working out. The weight still isn't coming off? Or is it just doing so slower than you would like?
