As with everything there will probably be something you forgot, but whatever it is won't be that important. You will do fine physically and I know that Ed will be there for all of your needs. Love and prayers

Time is drawing closer and I'm so happy for you. You have worked so hard to accomplish this and the end is near. Yes it will be painful following surgery and the rehab is also. The is worth it:love:

Not lame, always fun to take that unfamiliar step and find that things are not what we thought. Have to learn to extend ourselves in many ways

Even with yesterday's results I still love the Buckeyes. Always have and always will. They play the real football, 3 yards and a cloud of dust

I also really enjoy these foods but have made it a practice to make them as nutritious as possible by using fruit, nuts or vegetables in them. By doing this the use of syrup is needed much less. Nothing better than pumpkin pecan pancakes, or peach walnut. When using frozen fruit I use the juice as syrup by thickening it.

I have watched you through most of this travel you have done and have always been amazed at what you have accomplished. ext year I'm sure is going to make you a totally new woman and we will see you doing all kinds of things that you haven't been able to for a while.

So happy for you. Can't imagine both on one day, but you've worked hard for this and totally deserve it. Don't know about running by Feb., but knowing you probably.
-
I agree

You make such valid points. We just have to find our way to follow them. I know that that day is going to be tough for me as we are going to my son's house and joining his in-laws for the day. Healthy eating is not in their make up so I will be very picky about what I eat. I have to be. I ahve too much ahead of me.

Language barrier alert. I did not realize you were asking for a butternut squash recipe. When you asked for nuts, I was thinking pecans, walnuts etc. Silly me
-
Just knew this would be your outcome from the visit. I am so glad just to know of you. You inspire all of us

Born in Circleville, grew up and raised family in Columbus, moved to Arizona now back in Jackson. Go Buckeyes

Totally agree with you. Grew up very poor and nothing was ever wasted. When we got a treat; candy, ice cream or something like that it was the fastest got the most. A pound of candy didn't go far with 6 hands in it. The ice cream and sodas were once a week, Friday night. The half gallon was divided 6 ways and there were…

It is so great for you Sue to be finding parts of your body that have been hidden for a while. After the knees are done you will be able to build more muscle that will keep you warm. Also the act of walking will help with bringing that warmth.
-
Because of my knees I have to do standing ones
-
After shoulder surgery that is the first thing you do. When in therapy it's what you start with. Does loosen the joint but is so boring.

Was raising my kids in the 70's and they were constantly outside, meals were from scratch and eating out didn't start for us until the 80's when they were in high grads with more activities and not as much time to cook.

you can freeze the puree after making it. I do this in 2 cup portions. That will make about anything I want to do, be it cookies, a cake or a pie. Yes it does taste better than the can stuff. This year for the first time I used pie pumpkins instead of regular ones. Much easier as they cook up without as much excess water.

As a pre and very young teen I was skinny as a rail. Mother nature came to visit and I developed into a very well built young woman. That de[rew attention from every mail that saw me. I could not walk to the library without wolf whistles from truckers, and the younger guys thought they could get away with anything. Life…

I odn't know that I've ever made fun of myself, just some of my actions. When it comes to weight my grandsons tell me they have a six pack it's just well padded. And of course they are really not over weight.
-
You always make me smile and give me something to think about. Today you reminded me that I have to get that pile of clothes out of the closet and to the consignment shop.
-
Sounds like shashimi
-
That is true tuna. The stuff in the can taste nothing like fresh rare tuna.
-
This sounds really good

I think some that are on here have never been in a situation where they can not do the things that most people do everyday. When they start trying to do it it becomes an exercise. As they are able to do it easier it becomes a daily chore. Those of us that use heavy cleaning, heavy gardening and lawn mowing as exercise it's…

It's nice dreaming, but as many have said a million doesn't go that far. No one said anything about taxes. I do like the notion of paying of bills and helping others. Mine would be paying off bills, getting an estate settled and being able to keep the property we are on for our kids. You see it's been in the family for 150…

If your surgeon is anything like the first one I had, or the therapist they both suggested that I use water to rehab. Not necessarily to swim but at least walk in the water and do squats along the edge of the pool. You might go early one day to watch that water exercise class and see what you can do now tho help strengthen…

I have found that when I drink a lot of water after exercising I am still thirst, but feel heavy from the water. I found that I use something with electrolytes It quenches my thirst. It don't do sweetened drinks of an any kind for many reason and found a product called smart water. It quenches my thirst.

The light dawned on me when I was measuring cereal one morning and did both weight and measuring cup. You know the boxes of cereal say that they my not appear full do to settling. That means the weight is smaller than volume. Now weigh everything.

Such well said words. It is exactly what we have to do to reach our goals. Besides if they come off slow that means we have had to think what we are doing and it will stay with us the rest of our lives. They are learned habits.
