Weekend warrior on this challenge. I'm going to combine the two sets to get my heart rate up, then let it fall a bit. Here goes!

Looks like to me she is quitting an unhealthy way to diet and start a healthy approach. It's all good.

Yay, you! 1200-1400 is still a low dieting amount. You will feel like you are eating a ton if you are used to 800-900. No wonder you have having trouble maintaining that habit. Good for you. Shoot for six small meals a day, 300 cals for meals, and 100-200 cal fills for snacks, or more, if you exercise.

Goodwill. They are preshrunk so you don't have to worry about that, and cheap, so that if you move to another size soon, no great $ lost. And...they tend to be clothes people actually wear. I look for straight leg on the rack, or a cute back pocket to save me time as I sift.

I like the MFP method better of setting it to lightly active, and then adding in my exercise calories. It is about the only way for small people to lose weight, aside from lifting heavy. I have lost 16 pounds in four months (7 came off super fast, in a week), the other took the rest of the time due to the pace. I gained…

You seem young and perhaps newly married? Just guessing. I was not able to get pregnant at that weight. Just something to think about. Sorry if it seems impolite to mention or suggest, just something I experienced.

You might try this (don't let the photo of a person in a wheelchair derail you.): http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitness_articles.asp?id=626&page=2

TRY SANDBAGS WHILE YOU WAIT. There are killer workouts on youtube and other places online you can start on now. May save you some plates down the road. I went to the barn a couple days ago and found an old bucket of reserved sand sand used for planting. I double bagged it into some zip locks. Weighed the bags, filling to 5…

I got some ground turkey on sale last week on the clearance rack, so this is great. I made some taco turkey soup and it was spectacular! http://www.skinnytaste.com/2011/02/turkey-chili-taco-soup.html

You look younger and well cared for. You look like you have loved yourself. Now you can more fully love others.

So, the solution is: balanced diet, everyday, with a few "treats" so that you don't feel the need to "indulge" and blow all you work in 1-2 day. Just fit them into your daily allowance and macros. It works. One divine piece of chocolate. Treat yourself to your favorite low fat snacks, veggies, and perfect fruits. Treat…

It's both. Gotta be both.

I'm a little late hopping on board, but I hope to try this tomorrow! I miss circuit training! Thanks for doing this. Looks great!

Personally, In Place of a Road Map helped me understand more of what I was doing and the goal. I use it, but modify it to work with MFP because I need the incentive to workout. So, I set it 200 calories lower than it's stated each day for my daily eating goal, then if I exercise, I get to eat add it back (he counts on you…

1. I have a heart rate monitor and I don't find that MFP is that far off on the calorie count. 2. Eat back your exercise calories. 3. That is like 3 hours of exercise. It is possible to OVER exercise so that your body isn't doing any of it wholeheartedly. 30DS has me toast. Pour it out for an hour a day...and there is no…

On the menu there is a blue link with an orange arrow to it's left that says "Search". Hover over it or click it and a search line appears. Try "How to Post a Pic" and it should get you where you want to go. I've never done it personally, so I won't try to guide, but I've seen others explain it. Hope that helps.

I usually carb load the night before...like spaghetti or something. That morning, I eat about an hour to an hour and a half before the race, stop at a bathroom on the way there...go back to the bathroom once I get there, don't eat any more. Enough calories, but Iapretty "empty stomach" so that I don't get any surprises on…

"Casein protein" 1. Never heard of it. 2. If Wal*Mart doesn't sell it, I probably never will. LOL

I wonder if sometimes, we get so caught up in the semantics of what is "best" that we just don't do anything. For the person who doesn't like gyms, and can do cardio, then do cardio. Add in some circuit training every other day to cross train (body weight exercises + cardio thrown in). From there, add some weighted circuit…

This post restored my faith in the MFP forums. Sometimes, we are all too reactive with bad posts instead of writing some "real" stuff that makes sense, and works. Thanks!
-
^ Yup. Move on where you can be useful and leave the other stuff to people who have the grace to deal with it in a productive way.

5'3", small-medium frame. Arrived at goal (-16 lb.) in 4 months, started Dec. 25. Now working toward body fat goals, trying to build lean muscle. 1200 + exercise calories dieting, now 1350 + about 200 exercise calories usually. Working on at least 25% protein now. Trying to figure out the next level!

When the girl is younger than me, works at a fast food joint or a grocer, no. Just do your job well, smile, and say, "Have a nice day." If she is older, and I'm in the hospital, I'm good.

I eat whole what pasta spaghetti. But, I find that if I cook a good smelling roast, pork loin, or turkey, I don't have cravings for pasta in general. I am trying to eat more lean protein, so that's working well. Eating oatmeal is so filling I don't have morning snack cravings. Mini Chocolate Semi Sweet in that if I'm in a…

^This. A person needs a 500 calories deficit per day to average 1 pound of weight loss per week (the recommended weight loss for losing it in a progressive manner, and keeping it off). If you set your activity level to light on MFP, and set it to lose one pound per week, what does it give you?
-
I think I'd be more likely to start with some tension cords from Wal*Mart, build to where I was comfortable with those first before wandering into "the zone" at a gym unless I had a personal trainer going with me. But, that's just me.

Very difficult when they have a la carte at schools and you have no idea what they are eating. You can feed them "healthy" supper, you can have "healthy" snacks available, but if they are downing several serving of fried chicken fingers at school, it's going to catch up with them. And you can only motivate so far without…

There's an old group I found a few weeks ago called "SuperMoms" if you guys want to come visit: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/11928-super-mom-s Be a good way to find other moms as we go along if there were fresh posts/comments there occasionally. Oh, and my kiddos are 11, 14, 16. I'm 39. : )

It may depend on where you are and what your goals are. I've seen pics of women who only do diet and they look scrawny when they get done compared to other women who weigh more, but have the same body fat, only they are filled up with attractive lean muscle with that extra weight (they aren't body builders, but fit…
