Might have to get a little more clean with diet. The smaller you get, the more those bites count. But, try some HIIT training to mix things up. Pretty easy to accomplish on a treadmill.

That seems awfully redundant to me. I think I'd have to have variations on squats to do anything close to that, and I imagine my knees would be screaming. Think I'll have to stick with some cross training. Kudos to you all for giving it a go!

Some article I read this week (runner's knee for me), suggested that thigh and hip strengthening is often needed in runners to help with knee issues: Workout 1: http://www.runnersworld.com/workouts/ironstrength-workout Hips: http://www.runnersworld.com/injury-treatment/all-hips Google cross training for runners, or thigh,…

Very true, all of it. I didn't lose anything for a month, then suddenly dropped my last 5-7 lbs. and had to start eating more to slow it down.

Yes! For smaller women, it is often necessary initially unless you lift heavy starting out. I wasn't ready for that. Still am not. 500 under TDEE to lose a pound a week, eat back exercise calories. That should have gotten you up to 1400-1500 calories working out at the level you suggested. Use a heart monitor if you need…

Best comment I saw on this once: Many of those people all started where you are. You will soon be "most improved", so keep at it. You'll earn their respect. : )

My wrist and elbow do not agree either. My wrist is small, my elbow is medium. But, I figure if I go to the low end of the medium range, it would be about right (splitting the difference).

If it's 6PM and I see I will use all my calories for the family dinner, at my intake, I needed to have a snack available, so I'd throw in a quick run on the treadmill or a circuit training set before I got hungry to earn the snack. Often after working out, I didn't feel like I wanted to eat, but at least I didn't feel…

Oh, and I LOVE this! Thrift stores rock, and then we don't have to support the other terrible things about those stores. LOL

These clothes are made for small boned, thin, size zero people. Most clothes at the mall and for teen girls are. It is a huge pet peeve of mine. They do not design with all body types in mind, and it is totally demoralizing to shop with a teen for this reason. It has gotten some better, but honestly, find store that honor…

Nothing, but HITT training got me the last 10 pounds faster than anything else I tried...and dropping another 100 calories from my TDEE.

"Don't tell anyone else what you are doing." --Meaning, this is a personal journey. Others comments/opinions don't do it for you. This is your health. Embrace it. Own it. Do it. It's yours.

Or, if it's white, did it get washed in hot water and dried with cottons?

When I ran my first "big" 5K event, EVERYONE passed me. I mean, seriously, a handicapped dude with his legs circling outward passed me. He was tall, and he was running, and he was passing me, and it was raining, heavy. I was like, I am just going to do my best, stay paced, and finish this crazy thing. That's all. A lady…

Adding in to an older thread, but... Runners lean forward when they are tired, making them prone to chronic knee pain, tendinitis, and other injuries. They can ruin their chances of that weekend race with an injury if they do not train well. So, runner: are you running just for some cardio, or for time/races? May help to…

Mine is wrong! I wonder how to get it fixed?

A couple weeks behind, but I'm getting ready to rev up Day 3. Thanks for all the work to post these. Love the core focus on all of them!

This is an epic idea. THANKS! I just end up squirting the water all over myself while grabbing it and not ever getting a drink. LOL

Healthy people are. True. Personally, I have heart rate rhythm issues if I get dehydrated. Can't run too early in the morning because of it. Have to watch heat, make sure I'm fed and watered. Quite a few people I know get skipping hearts with dehydration. It's not that rare. So, listen to a ton of advice, "Know Thyself"…

When I was first training for my first 5K, I needed it. It think I was working harder, breathing harder, not used to the elements. I did loops passing my driveway and put a cup of water in the mailbox (away from times when I expected mail to run). I found that just knowing it was there helped. Eventually, I found that I…

100 cal fruit yogurts. Apples! Gala/Fuji Maple sweetened oats (prepacked "less sugar" Quaker packets with 1/2 small apple chunked in it. YUM!) One dark chocolate truffle, 75 cals Sweet pickle relish is good in seafood to make a spread with about 1 T lowfat salad dressing, a packet of splenda, and a squirt of lemon juice. I…

Truly amazing. What lifting program are you doing? LOVE the "mom tats" (what we call stretch marks around here...some people pay to get tats done, we just earn them!) Got some myself! : )

I'd like to see your diet journal just to cover all our bases here. You are 18 years old, 5'2", 105 pounds, and want to get to 98 pounds so you will "like yourself" according to your profile. I see some issues here. You need to love yourself no matter what you weigh. Love that body God designed for your use and treat it…

That's a pretty good quote actually. But, I do like it when people seek honest feedback. It's a good, humble trait. Then, assess those opinions, decide if you agree or not, set goals, make a plan, and have fun! You look GREAT!

Saw my brother yesterday who has been doing it since about Christmas. He has lost a ton of weight, has broad shoulders and a narrow waist now, and he looked so confident. I've been pressing cardio hard already with a treadmill, so I'm a little leary of a cardio based workout, I need to focus more on weights, I think but it…

Make sure you are measuring the seeds and nuts in the smoothies and the portions on rice...they add up fast!

I felt good that it's not another day that I went to bed thinking, "Well, I didn't work out again today either." Getting rid of guilt is a good feeling. Go with that until results start killing in to propel you forward.

THIS! They are good frozen post workout, too. I can't believe it took my 39 years to realize how useful frozen bananas are! They are the basis for ALL my smoothies for texture without having to add much milk now.

I've put laundry on a line, and frankly, it's a lot of work. I can't believe my mom did it because she enjoyed it or liked the smell of it or whatever. My arms/shoulders burned to the point I had to stop and rest. It's hard to hold your arms that high for that long...the heavier the clothes, the harder it is. IT IS HARD…

Interesting quote from that article: "Under the stress of resistance exercise your muscles also release more Growth Hormone and your testes produce more Testosterone." Um...yeah, I think he was writing with the guys in mind on that one. ROTFL
