Honestly I think we get spoiled by digital connections being so fast that when something takes more than an instant to load we think consider it slow.

Although I started out mostly to reduce to what I felt was a better weight, the increased self-confidence and self-empowerment to make changes in my personal life now provide more motivation.

There is nothing wrong with the disgust if you use it as motivation to change. Do one thing like eliminating soft drinks or something and stick with that and then add another change. You can do it, if you want it bad enough.

There are lots and lots of people who have used MFP successfully. I am maintaining now almost 18 months. Good luck to you both! Just be patient and stick with it.

And welcome to mfp. As an older guy with a sedentary job I want to say this can work for you if you are patient and stay with it! I never thought I would be able to lose once I was over 50 years old but sure enough I did. Best of luck to you!

This app makes it easy. Complete your profile and log your food daily and the weight will come off. Be patient, it is not a diet, but a changing of your eating habits. It works, I am 57 and lost 30 pounds over a year.
