And always remember, progress is progress no matter how fast or how slow.

Don't worry about anyone else. You don't know their journey and where they are in it. Your journey is your own and only worry about yourself. You can do it!

You don't want your stride to be long nor worry about your feet getting off the ground too high, running short strides landing in the middle of your foot will help you avoid injury. Hang in there, it will come, but it is not an overnight accomplishment. Good luck.

I agree with everyone else, slow down your pace and it will be easier. I just started to run last August and I used the C25K program also. I noticed a few things, one you need good music that can make or break your run as a beginner, go to jog.fm or rockmyrun.com and find songs with at bpm of 160 - 180 and that will…

I was just going to post this same question. I have been looking at a Polar but would love opinions of those who use them.

Okay, I googled and found the body media site. Why would you need all three items? Which do you feel is most accurate? I would imagine a HRM but I find the fitbit is pretty accurate. I have been thinking about getting an HRM, which do you have/use? Thanks!

What is "bodymedia"? I know about HRM and own a fitbit but never heard of bodymedia before.

I have lost almost 50 pounds and my chest has not gone down at all. Started as a 40 DDDD and I am now a 34 GG. Would love to have gone down there also, but I don't see it happening unless I pay for them to be reduced.

I love to snack on Cashews or Blueberries, but of course not together. I am very lazy and I don't want to have to fix my snack so it must be something that is ready to go.

I am also interested in the replies you receive here. I started the C25K in August and I ran my first 5K in Nov and 4 since. My goal is the same as yours, to run a 1/2 marathon this summer (probably late August, early Sept). So please, runners, give us your advice. Thanks!

5"7" SW = 219 CW = 177.2 GW = 160 Started mfp about 12 days ago, did not count calories or even know what amt of calories was eating until then. I do boot camp three times a week and run 3 -4 miles 4 - 6 times a week. I have been sidelined these past two weeks with a calf injury so I have not been doing either so I have…

I just assumed that they were set in stone. Thanks for the tip!

I have only been running since August and while there were times that I felt I needed to stop someplace, I never have had the urge that bad. I was wondering what I was doing or should be doing to not have this happen so thanks for asking. The answers you have received give me the impression that it will get worse as I…

I changed the diary to friends only, will that include the group?

My response above was to this post.

Obesity is not the result of laziness and I am surprised to hear that answer in a forum here. There are so many reasons a person is obese that to just say laziness is ignorant and even discriminatory. You don't know another person's journey unless you walk in their shoes you should not just outright like that.

I am another convert, hated running, but I am enjoying it now. I purchased my shoes from Fleet Feet, they are really good and also offer training and running help.
