Yes. I used to wear square-type Mary Janes. Now I can wear some fairly fitted pumps. And my running shoes have started to feel loose.

Congratulations! You look amazing. Well done!

About 11 months. I was able to reach my initial goal of losing 100 lbs. by my 50th birthday last month.

"Because I can." Now that I've lost a significant amount of weight, it is so much easier to be physically active. So I push myself to be active, even though it's easier to stay on the couch, because I'm thrilled that I CAN BE physically active. BECAUSE I CAN.

I love the way so many MFP-ers are paying it forward by sharing their hard-earned weight loss wisdom with newcomers. Here are a few tips from me. 1. Hunger is the enemy. You have to figure out ways to not be hungry. For me, that has meant consuming adequate amounts of protein and eating regularly (three good-sized meals…

Every day, I get to celebrate something new that I can do this year that I couldn't do at the same time last year. The other day, it was being able to walk on top of a layer of crunchy snow without falling through. (Losing 100+ pounds makes a difference.) :-) Over the holidays, it was having family members comment on how…

I'm not a particularly ambitious cook (I rely a lot on very simple foods like plain Greek yogurt, eggs, fruits, vegetables), but I am a pretty clean eater. Feel free to add me -- as long as you're not looking for culinary inspiration! ;-)

Yes. I've spent a lot of money over the years looking for a way to lose weight -- and I've wasted a lot of time. MFP delivers. Who cares if there are a few glitches? I'd be happy to pay for the app + pay a reasonable annual fee to access the website, if it ever came to that.

A couple of things ....having to ask for the extension belt on an airplane (so humiliating) ....realizing that I am going to be turning 50 soon -- and that I needed to deal with my weight problem before I got any older ....cringing each time I saw a photo of myself ....having pain in the bottom of my feet because it was…

I love your latest photo -- and it has been a joy to share the last part of your journey with you. Hurray for MFP pals!

Totally agree with what Roses and Such said: "I believe you can be a feminist and body positive no matter what your size, you CAN love your body and still try to lose some weight. The two are not mutually exclusive. I don't believe you should shame anybody for the way they look, fat or thin, because you have no idea what…

Congratulations on your success. And thank you for sharing so much wisdom with the MFP community.

The Fitbit Flex has inspired me to ramp up my activity level from very occasionally active to active every day (typically for 90 minutes/day). Since I got mine in mid-May, there have only been about five days that I haven't achieved my daily goals (which keep increasing). I can't say enough great things about my Flex. I…

You are making fantastic progress. Congratulations!

When I reached 50 lbs. gone, I bought myself a necklace and earrings. They weren't very expensive, but they were a gift to myself to say, "Yay, you did this!" Is there something you'd like to have that would make you feel happy and proud each time you put it on? Or...what about getting a photo taken of yourself?…

Your friend's terrible experience reminded me of this rather awesome video I watched the other day. In it, an obese man talks about the pain fat-shaming causes and "the endless cycle it creates." It's worth a watch. (Maybe your friend might like it, too.) "Fat Shaming and Making Fun of Fat People"…
