Hi and welcome, I too started a week ago and I have already learned a lot about food value. I'm on 1200 per day and feel okay so far. I don't think of myself as being on a diet. I think of having 1200 calories TO SPEND each day on anything I want.

As a non-water drinker I had to train myself to do so. I started with a small glass before and after every meal. I prefer warm water as it doesn't feel as heavy in my stomach. In the beginning I also added a teaspoon of pure maple syrup as the sweetness helped me more than lemon slices.
