  • Well done! This is just the motivation i needed. I'm looking to lose 22 pounds exact and i'm almost halfway, but for the past few days i've really slacked off and haven't been eating well. You can see such a difference, especially in your face.
  • Wow we've all lost 223 pounds together, that is crazy :) I have a confession though. I have pretty much screwed up with my healthy diet the past 4 days. Okay 'screwed up' might not be the right word. I've been exercising like usual, but have let myself go over about 400++ calories for a few days, and yesterday i didn't…
  • Yup, originally from Auckland but now i'm in Singapore on an internship, and back to melbourne in a few months for uni :D
  • I've lost 9 pounds now and can't wait to hit the 10 pound mark. I didn't think that losing this amount could make me feel SO much happier and healthier. Congrats on your loss, and just imagine how great you feel when you reach your goal weight :)
  • Thanks guys for your responses. I will actually be relieved in a way if my doctor says i have this. Only because i've been feeling off for so long and doctors have continously told me that these things such as fatigue, standing up and getting dizzy are 'normal' for teenage girls. But i know something is not right.
  • I'm weighing in this fine morning at 146.7 :D so i've lost a total of 1.8 pounds this week. Which i'm happy about, especially because last week i lost nothing! So i'm glad that i pushed through despite such a stressful week. I'm going to step it up for the next weigh in, and i'm hoping i'll keep losing and keep up with my…
  • If i have enough calories left, normally every day after dinner i'll have a small glass of low fat chocolate milk and a cookie. And i'm losing inches.
  • I would recommend 1) getting a blood test to see if you are deficient in anything 2) If that is not an option i would recommend the following 3 which most american diets (and lifestyles) are deficient in: omega 3s, calcium and vitamin d. Research has proven that multivitamins are pretty much useless, so i don't bother with…
  • Okay, a weigh in every tuesday sounds good to me :)
  • Welcome :) This is such a great tool i've learned so much.
  • Have you been measuring yourself?? Last week i lost 0 pounds, but noticed my clothes fit looser. Turns out i'd lost a few inches :) Keep going, i know it can be discouraging when the scale doesn't reflect your efforts, but remember that it doesn't always tell the truth. Also, make sure your eating enough. Get as close to…
  • How's everyone been going? I'm hoping for at least a 1 pound loss this week, and then i'll be happy. Been pretty good with the exercising (just started 30 day shred) But not too well with resisting the cookies... Anyways wishing you all the best!
  • Have you been measuring yourself? (could be gaining muscle but still losing fat) Have you been eating high sodium foods? (could be retaining water) Are you measuring quantities of foods? (estimating amounts could mean you are underestimating cals) Are you logging in all the 'extras' like oil, butter, salad dressing etc?…
  • I'm in!! I'm already in a 3 month challenge, but i would love one that is more short term, and I definetly need a kick start. What days will we weigh in?
  • I think it's all about when it's best for you to fit in your workout. Yeah, i heard morning exercise might be better too, but whats the use if i HATE doing it and have to wake up at 4:30 am because of my schedule. If i did that i would never be able to stick with it. Same goes for evening workouts. The best way to do it in…
  • I make a fruit salad every morning, which i bring into work and snack on throughout. I cut up apple, watermellon, strawberries and put in some blueberries. Other great snacks are greek yogurt with some shaved almonds and blueberries. Yuummmm. And i can't get through a day without my afternoon snack (if i've been good) a…
  • I find that its best for me not to weigh myself when i have my period. Because, last week even though i ate healthy and within my calories i lost no weight. I'm assuming i gained water weight, and just felt bloated and ugh. The first 2 days of that TOM i crave sugar and just can't seem to be full! But it's all about…
  • Because i change up incline and speed loads of times during my workout, and because i don't have an HRM i use the tredmill's number. However, machines normally overestimate calorie burn so i minus 15% afterwards. I figured it's best to underestimate by a bit than overestimate. My tredmill however doesn't ask for my weight…
  • I was wondering about this too. I'm not interested in trying it though, just curious.
  • I would say your best bet would be a mixture of clean eating, cardio and weight training. I love doing exercise dvds like the firm which require weights and get you to work your arms. Otherwise i find that i'm unlikely to keep up a routine that really gets me thourhg a variety of moves. I'm not overweight by any means, but…
  • I love anything 'the Firm' and shape (especially slim and sleek fast) and you will get results with jillian michaels.
  • You would need a mixture of both cardio and weight training. You won't be able to tone these areas up without getting rid of the layer of fat covering the muscle. I would recommend 30 mins of cardio at least 5 days a week and weight training. I love using exercise dvds for this, because you can get a variety of moves in…
  • Oooh i hope that is true! I guess it depends if they ask for you to enter your age/weight etc. I ended up taking off about 15% of the calorie burn, just because well i guess its better to underestimate by a little right? Man, i really should get a heart rate monitor!
  • I stopped tracking sugar for that reason. I love my morning smoothies which are full of fresh blueberries and raspberries, but one a morning will already put me over my sugar allowance, and i hate seeing that red! I know that when i'm eating a healthy diet full of whole foods, that i'm getting the nutrients i need. When…
  • I concur, i think it's best to try to get as close to your calories as possible, and there are a few days where in my opinion you are a bit under. I have these days too though (haha well more often over than under) but no one is perfect. When i first heard about eating exercise calories, i thought it was mad. But it makes…
  • I just wanted to say that for those feeling a bit discouraged (like i was yesterday, with my 0lb weight loss), the important thing is that you are still logging in on mfp, and still part of the challenge! It's important to be held accountable and keep going, even when it doesn't always go to plan. And congrats Magglet for…
  • Oooh i love your legs! Congrats
  • I'm in the same boat! I haven't lost weight the past week and a half, even though i've been under or close to my calories and working out :(
  • It's early Friday (Finally!) morning here, so i'm first to weigh in. But, it's not the best start. I've lost 0, nada, zero, no weight this week! The only way i can make sense of it is because i lost 5.5 pounds last week and my body just decided that this week it would hold onto the weight. It is discouraging though. No, my…
