  • I would take off the pedometer if you're going to count Zumba on its own but leave it on if you don't. And like I said in my post above, I would divide anything that mapmyfitness gives you in half to be more accurate. I went ahead a did a ride with the Strava app today and I have to say I'm happy with the calorie burn it…
  • That's my chief complaint about mapmyride...The calorie burn is nearly double what it should be and they don't even figure in heart rate if you track that in their burn algorithm. There is no excuse for it! It would even be more accurate to just do 40 calories X number of miles. As soon as my MPV membership is up I'm going…
  • Yeah, that would have been awesome to see. I can't stand her. She's such a crook.
  • Update to my last post... on my run today my Phillips ear buds went bad with the left side going out. Guess I'll be buying one of the models I've seen suggested here.
  • I would look at is encouragement.
  • Are you getting enough calories? Not eating enough can have a negative effect just like over eating. Your body thinks it's starving and holds onto stored fat. You might want to bump up your calories to at least 1500. For your weight that's not out of the question. Good luck and welcome to MFP. :)

  • You're not alone! I went from 205 down to 165....then back up to 203. All in a matter of 3 years. So don't think you're the only one. The thing that I've found is that you must take it one day at a time. Don't get caught up thinking about the end goal. Set small, reachable goals and reward yourself when you succeed. Before…
  • I wish I could help you mbgambill. I have a Samsung S3 and the support at BM told me that it's not a supported device. So even though bought the bluetooth model, I can't use it. I've been having to plug it in at night to download and charge. It seems to be picking everything up though. I guess I don't move around as much…
  • For me, listening to music makes a huge difference. I created different tracks for the kind of run I'm going to do. Slow tracks for slower pace, etc.
  • Hi all, I'm new here too and just purchased my BodyMedia device last week. I'm hoping it will help keep me accountable...plus I like numbers. About 1.5 years ago I was a runner. I ran my first marathon weighing in at 172 lbs. In the process of that something happened in my ankle which causes me pain when I run now. Four…
  • My wife had this problem yesterday after she was allowed to setup an easy password on her iPhone while the site only accepts a complex password. I made a complex password for her on the site and the app started working.
  • Thanks very much for the info Vkmcewen! I'll go and sign up for that group here. Sound good. Today is my second day and I'm just now starting to NOT notice it around my arm. :)
  • I really like thedailymile.com and would sync my Garmin to it. I sort of just switched over to using my Android phone and have tried many of the apps. RunKeeper is always good and works with multiple devices. I've recently switched over to Runtastic because it syncs with this site and that one is good as well. I saw…
  • For a few years I bought the Nike buds that lay on the back of your neck. Very comfortable, but they have a known issue with the left bud going out. I switch over to a Phillips ear bud model that also lay on the back of your neck after my last pair of Nike buds broke. Never going back to those again. So far I've had these…
  • That's too bad about Jindal. I really like him. Rubio might be our next hope in 4 years. God help us all if Clinton or Biden get in. What am I thinking?? God help us now!

  • Shows: Breaking Bad Game of Thrones Walking Dead Movies: The Pianist True Lies The Usual Suspects All the Bourne movies (except the last one they just made) And if you're looking for a good movie in theaters now... Zero Dark Thirty.
  • Thanks Yogi! Glad to know I'm not the only one going through this. I like your idea about stating your food here but going off the BM site to know exactly what to go by. I've been looking at both for a few days tore as what to do. If you come up with any hints, let us know!
  • Thank you all very much for your response. That really does help clear it up for me. I guess I just have it in my head the old way of manually adding calories that you burn over your daily base. It's going to take getting used to with this projection method. I'll just sync my armband before dinner so I have a better idea…
