  • I'm sorry I know how selfconcious hair issues can make a woman. I think my hair has started to thin a little as well, I also suffer from the facial hair. But as missvee said it is a little easier on me when I talk to people about it. And after finding out that I had PCOS I started mentioning my hair issues, and actually i…
  • I found that when I started eat more protien and Good Fats that total calorie intake went down, this is because protein and Fat sustain you longer than processed carbs. If you focus on eating REAL Foods it' realy hard to go over on your carbs becasue the REAL Foods all have REAL Carbs no added sugar.

  • What kind of low carb are you going? I are you doing Low simple carbs or low carb in general? I Eat Low Carb because I am insulin resistant and I still get from 80-150 grams of carb a day. I eat Brown Rice, Wild Rice, one serving of Fruit, and Lots of Veggies for my carbs along with Quinoa. There are lots of recipe's out…

  • Some Dr's can tend to brush PCOS aside because they don't know enough about it and how much it affects people. Good for you doing some research on your own. I would suggest going to another DR many people on MFP see and Endrocronologist and get more information. I am someone who was diagnosed in my 30s and would have much…
  • Hi I'm Stacy. I am 31 been married for a year and a half . • Oh yes I suffer from Facial hair, and mine has gotten a little bit better (I no longer have to remove it both in the morning AND at night, only have to once a day now.) Hoping for more improvement on that as te weight keeps coming off.
  • I get this a lot too and I think that most people are just trying to help a bit thinkin that you might get board with what you are doing. It does get annoying though. It is more annoying though when you have already started to make progress and found something that is working for you and people still want to put their two…
  • That is no fun that you have a Knee injury while you are trying to loose weight. I am very sorry about that, it's got to add some frustration to your weightloss attempt. Well I get up supper early in the morning on Monday, Wendesday and Friday and I eat my lunch at my desk while I work and my husband gets home at 6:3 and I…
  • Hey, I saw your post, it can be frustrating when you see others having great success loosing 2-4 lbs a week and you are struggling but the thing to remember about those who loose that amount of weight a week have a lot of weight to loose. I am one who is loosing on average 2 lbs a week but I had to loose 100 lbs I started…
  • I get that a lot too at work. But I always say I'm not on a diet I'm making a lifestyle change. And tell them that everyone is on a diet some people's diets are good and some peoples diets are bad. It sounds like you are doing all the right things. You need to have your treats every once in a while if you don't you will…
  • Welcome to the group! This is a great group for support of all kinds, most of my friends on MFP are from this group. I'm glad that you are eating more calories. I don't always get that many calories but because I am not hungry not because I don't allow myself to eat them. I'm sorry you got sick off of the Metformin I was…
  • Welcome to the group! It has been a great group and being newly diagnosed about 3 months ago great having the support with both weightloss and the emotional issues that come along with PCOS. I have been trying to conceive for about 11 months now and having these women has been a big help. Many of my friends on MFP are…
  • Welcome to the PCOSis Group! You found a great group of women who understand your struggles with loosing weight! I had DR's roll their eyes at me when I would tell them how I ate and worked out because if I did those things I shouldn't be 60 lbs over weight, well over some time those 60 lbs became 100 lbs! IT wasn't till I…
  • That's for sharing I will have to try this.
  • I do have high blood pressure that's why I'm trying to stay with-in the 2500g. I find on the weekends when I don't have as many snacks I don't have an issue. I know it is probably the cottage cheese, I changed my string cheese to a reduced sodium string cheese. But I'm not sure what to replace the cottage cheese with that…
  • I you asking about physical or emotional pain? I am lucky I don't have much physical pain my physical pain has always been dull and it wasn't until I started to try for a baby did I notice the constant Dull pain in my pelvic region. • My sodim intake goal is 2500, I usually end up at 3000 sometimes less sometimes more. craving salty snacks isn't an issue. I eat very clean but I still struggle with my sodium intake because of the eggs, and cheese that I eat. But the snacks are not craving salty things it's to have good protein snacks (I'm not a fan of…
  • I don't know anything about IF, I eat as clean as I can which means limited refined simple carbs, and I do not eat any gluten. I have lost 38 lbs in 90 something days eating like this, and I eat a good amount I have 1400-1800 calories a day but I am very active. When I went of birth control I gained weight pretty quickly,…
  • I'm on a DR ordered low carb diet and I stil get around 90-150 grams of carbs a day. They come from Fruit, Vegetabels and some very whole gluiten free grains. (I'm also guiten free). 10g of carbs a day does sound really extreem.
  • I'm sorry that your cycle is being so crazy! I have never had really off the wall cycles actually I am usually the same time each month just a longer cycly which I think contributed to why it took so long for me to be diagnosed. I have been on meds for about 2.5 months and I am actually happy I am on it, the Metformin…

  • I'm sorry you are going through all of this. When I went off of birth control last may I gained 35 lbs in 5 months so I understand how you are feeling about that. I hope that you get in with a good endocrinologist soon and can get on some metformin it has helped me a lot in the 2.5 months I've been on it.
