• In honor of tonite's football game I am eating Jeni's "Buckeye State"....I don't really care who wins but making roast duck seemed like too much trouble. After looking all holiday season for Talenti Egg Nog I just discovered the Talenti at the gourmet grocer by me is in the Italian section and not with the rest of the ice…
• Physical Therapy...get a referral and go ASAP. It will make all the difference.
• You need to make sure you get to bed early enough so you can get up. I have my workout clothes ready and sometimes I braid my hair the night before so I just throw on my clothes and go. You also need to be flexible...when you are getting into a pattern pick workouts you like...it does become a habit but give yourself all…
• I would have watched Raul Julia read a McDonalds menu:-)
• My continued search for Talenti Eggnog has been fruitless....I also haven't found Jeni's Egg Nog and Bourbon. I tried Graeter's Egg Nog and it was pretty meh....I know egg nog can be polarizing so it seems them dialed back the flavors....it was pretty good vanilla but not egg nogey enough for me.
• Is it too late to join?
• You can't fight Mother Nature:-) If me and someone my exact height and weight both lost 25 pounds eating the same and excercising the same it wouldn't mean the fat came off the same place. I tend to lose in the butt and thighs first...you can run 10 miles a day and do abs of steel religously and you may never get the…
• I love UDF! I need to go get me an Egg Nog milkshake :D
•
That was pretty damn funny. I loved Brown butter brittle. I'm curious to see what you think of the Wiskey one.
Sometimes I just scan and must have the brain of a 7th grader because I swear this post said you were Brown Butter Brittle Curious. No judgement:-)
• In case you wanted to compare to the real thing: http://smittenkitchen.com/blog/2008/10/paris-a-deep-dark-salted-butter-caramel-sauce/ It's very, very good.
• A former boss (who I cannot describe thanks to the terms of MFP) made Baklava every Christmas....it's the only thing she ever made and it was so much better than what I have ever had from a store. She wasn't greek so I have no idea what the deal was but homemade baklava is a whole different thing.
• I have had uneven results with their cupcakes...I would suggest a test batch. I actually don't think those sisters know how to bake.
• Actually going out...I will be making several j-ello salads including the traditional family pineapple salad (which I was 30 before I found out it didn't contain j-ello). I may smuggle some into the restaurant.
• Sweet way past cloying....just all sorts of wrong. I have a really high tolerance for sweet.
• Warning to list friends: Reece Cup Peanut Butter is NOT good. Trust me avoid. PB Company Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter is still the jar to beat.
• Jeni's is on sale here for $8.00 a pint. Hopefully they will have a selection when I get there.
• Guinness Chocolate Cupcakes are fabulous....I have made these and they are wonderful. Bailey's frosting is wonderful.
• for later
• Try drinking "a shot" of straight lemon juice. You can leave a small bottle next to you bed. I have also read that tonic water helps.
• My favorite lunch place uses a mixture of low fat mayo and low fat yogurt and it's wonderful.

• I saw something on RealSports I think where parents were getting their sons up in the middle of the night to feed them peanut butter sandwiches so they gained weight to play linemen for High School.
• No it isn't selfish..... as for starving children in the developing world....even if you take out the loan and send it to those kids it isn't going to fix the problem. You can (and should) do what you can do (and as another person who cares for parents I am going to say you are already doing a lot more than most people…
• Many, many years ago I got food poisoning from spaghetti, I haven't not been able to have it or similar shaped pasta (no angel hair or whatever). The ham they served in my college cafeteria made me ill and I have since developed an aversion to cured meat. The smell of bacon makes me gag, especially in the morning. Also…
• On more than one occasion I have baked, eaten and cleaned up a batch of brownies without before anyone got home. I have also done this with no-bake cookies....that much oatmeal in such a short time is NOT a good thing.
• I work in banking so I get them addressed to me and for clients. I always laugh since even if it wasn't a scam (and I know they are) what they are generally asking me to do is illegal and will get me fired. The worst one was a beneficiary's e-mail got hacked. I knew instantly from the grammar and syntax that it wasn't my…
• A flat foot off? I may win this one. I have stepped on those Dr. Shoal machine at Target and it keeps insisting I need to take off my shoes. I cannot walk on a treadmill...it kills my feet. Regardless of what shoes I have (but I agree on a good running store). When I am in a gym I use the elliptical.
• You really can’t fight Mother Nature. Last year some wingnut congressman from Iowa was warning of “illegal immigrants” with calves like cantaloupe (due to allegedly carrying huge bundles of drugs into the US). I found it very funny because I have huge calves that I got from my Scandinavian Iowa Farm Wife Grandmother.…
• In the past when I have started up swimming after a hiatus I crave sugar like no one's business. For some reason I wanted Sunny Delight, which I think is literally sugar water. Those cravings do pass. Just keep moving forward...stuff like that gets easier. Also remind yourself it will take awhile.
• It happens all the time....if I had a dollar for everytime children have run up to my dogs, thrusting their hands at their faces and (then) asking "do they bite" I wouldn't have to work. I have also had subsequent moms start screaming not to let my dogs attack their kids.
