  • Now I love Zumba but despite what the commercials say 1,000 calories an hour probably isn't going to happen. I know I don't hit all the steps. Adding weight training will help. I try and break it up and walk (and do stairs) throughout the day in addition to working out, per MFP I got 1,400 today so it is probably closer to…
  • Garp Good Will Hunting The Birdcage I know it's not a movie but I keep thinking of seeing him on the last week Johnny Carson was on the air. He had Johnny redfaced and doubled over from laughing....I'll need to check you-tube.
  • Some because I am a child of the 80’s, some because I love them and some because they suck me in when I find them at odd times on cable. Grease Breakfast Club Sixteen Candles The Big Chill Dirty Dancing A Man for All Seasons (Paul Scofield original) Highlander LA Confidential Drop Dead Gorgeous So I Married an Axe Murderer…
  • Stop waiting for tomorrow. I was always bad about the same thing…I would wake up late…not have time to grab a healthy breakfast so I would grab donuts and chocolate milk. So I would do the same thing with lunch because the day was already shot…and so on and so on. Here is something someone wrote once on a forum and I have…
  • Look for Granitas on dessert menu's....it like an really good slushie and I have heard good things about Paletas (which are popsicles that you can get from street vendors).
  • I will be interested to see if you ever get your order. If stock was low on an item...why would you drop the price?
  • I will third Leslie ...this might sound cheesey but you will get the impression she really cares. She will remind you of a friend of your mom's or grandma's. Since you like yoga have you tried Pilates? I love Ellen Barret DVD's...she has one called Barefoot Cardio you might like. Also when I am getting back into working…
  • I blame all of you! Went to the grocery store and thought of all of you in the ice cream aisle. Steve's Mexican Chili Chocolate (I didn't know we got Steve's around here) and Jeni's Apricot Yogurt.
  • This is speculative but I was looking at some BeachBody stuff on Amazon yesterday (TurboFire) and nothing I clicked on was in stock. Inventory issues are often harbingers of companies disappearing.
  • Quinoa Pudding? http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Quinoa-Pudding-2/Detail.aspx?event8=1&prop24=SR_Thumb&e11=quinoa%20pudding&e8=Quick%20Search&event10=1&e7=Home%20Page&soid=sr_results_p1i1 I would find something that you can make work and make a plan and just soldier thru until the surgery. Most pain killers will wreak havoc on…
  • She isn't going to change you need to find a way to deal with it....like a lot of other posters I have a similar situation with a sister and mom (my mother's favorite spectator sport is dieting...at least once a week she will ask me how much a celebrity weighs). It runs in the family....my grandmother once mentioned she…
  • I have always drank a lot of water. Currently I carry a 40oz water bottle and easily drain it 3 times a day. Since I picked back up with MFP and have been working out regularly I have noticed I do need more and have found myself thirsty more, especially during more intense workouts. I did a kettlebell workout a few days…
  • I had a colleague tell me all you needed to eat was a handful of walnuts and a cup of blueberries instead of regular food. It would have everything you need, you wouldn't be hungry and you would lose weight. I never tried it...but he was crazy on other things so it was part of the package.
  • Maybe remind him of the cliffs and you are pretty confident YOU can make it back to the car safely just this once:wink: So he would be wise to not push you too far or you just might return the favor? Not that you have mentioned Hocking Hills, I want a burrito from Athens:sad:
  • Try and take it as a reminder that everyone has their own baggage, either the need for constant attention or they just truly are unhappy with who they are. I worked and travelled with a woman for a while who at her heaviest (post pregnancy) was an 8 and is usually about a 4/6. She constantly went on about how fat she was…
  • You need to find some people who do Pit rescue. Neither the police nor the SPCA will actually help. In most of the US the standard for animal treatment are insane. Locally we had a case where someone almost starved a dog and a chain had grown into it's neck...a judge gave the dog back because the family had kids and the…
  • I have dishes to do (I did the caramels in two batches)so here's the post from the blog that I get the recipe from: https://www.flickr.com/photos/smitten/8453658084/ I doubled the batch. Work is getting some and then a class tomorrow night gets the rest. I can't cut them until they are cold.
  • I just put a pan of salted caramel brownies in the oven. If I wasn't so photo challenged I would post a photo. They should be out of the oven in 30 minutes...feel free to stop by:smile:
  • Thanks:drinker: for fixing my picture.
  • http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hQPekLlGSr4/UDkypQYTLuI/AAAAAAAABuY/0R2JXMl4mdw/s1600/09.JPG Trying to post photos (let's see if it works). Graeters' Black Raspberry is not to be missed. The ice cream has a wonderful intense natural Black Raspberry flavor it doesn't have the fake and overly sweet that you sometimes get from…
  • Graeter's Black Raspberry Chip for dessert tonight....came in 1 calorie under goal for the day. I tried Talenti's version and it doesn't compare.
  • FitBit one tracks stairs...when I climb hills it does measures stairs (it seems to vary with humidity). Hiking (with hills) counts as more calories than just walking. I also find that walking downhill has it's own challenges, good core workout.
  • I am going to adapt a joke I once heard about Vegans: Q: How do you know someone eats "clean"? A: Don't worry they will tell you. I don't care how other people eat in the normal course of things but I have been known to throw stuff at the screen when Alice Waters is on TV. note: I know Farm to Table isn't clean eating but…
  • Your body is recovering so let it rest and listen. Maybe look into meal replacement shakes so you are getting enough protein (which your body needs to heal). My mom has implants and they haven't been great but your mileage will vary and hopefully once you are better they will work out great.
  • Avon makes SOS bug wipes that help....I use them and a spray and don't forget to spray your shoes. I got a really nasy bug bite thru my socks and running shoes. You can also order online and they deliver quickly.
  • I once heard a comedian say your parents don’t just know where your buttons are they installed them. Food issues don’t just run in my family…they go at warp speed. I have never known my mother to not be on a diet. Food has always been reward or punishment. All of my siblings have issues with food, one has anorexia the rest…
  • McDonalds Premium Sweet Chili Wrap is 360 calories and very filling.
  • Whenever I have been successful at working out it's been in the morning, I like DVDs because I get a better workout when someone else is setting the pace (currently my favorite is Cardio Combat Surge with Kimberely Spreen). Most soundtracks tend to cheesey hip hop (I think Momma Says Knock You Out in every kickboxing DVD I…
  • Graeter's has a new Sundae: Chocolate Chip Ice Cream with a topping of whipped cream (there's is to die for...better than most places ice cream), peanut butter topping and hot fudge that they mix for you (it ends up somewhere between a mousse and fudge). I got it with Double Chocolate Chip. If you are close to a Graeter's…
