My apologies, it's the Bent Over Two-Dumbbell Row. You have a dumbbell in each hand, knees slightly bent, and your torso bent almost parallel to the floor. The slightly bent knees are supposed to take some of the strain off your lower back but I have an extremely weak lower back from past injuries. I will probably use the…

Is there a point in needing a point? It's quite obvious you really do need to look up the definition of "sarcastic". Go ahead ..... I'll wait. :yawn:

Funny (or not so funny) story. I decided to give this a try. Day 1 included a workout called the Bent Over Dumbbell Row. I have had lower back problems in my past and wasn't thinking about that when I started to do this exercise. On the 2nd set of 10, herniated a disk in my back. Was on muscle relaxers and pain pills for…

Try adding some more intensive exercises than just walking. I'm 6'2" myself and I eat 1400-1600 calories per day and am able to lose 1.5-2 pounds per week even with a desk job. I workout for about 35 minutes 3-4 days per week on an elliptical and I like to push it so that I'm really sweating at the end of the workout. Try…

"seriously.. 95% of the time.. people get the 1200 number because they don't put the right information in when they set up the account." ^ THIS! I'm 6'2", over 300 pounds (considerably overweight), work a desk job 8 hours per day and MFP says I can have 2,150 calories. If MFP says you got 1200 calories as your number then…

I'm certainly no expert on the matter but if it were me and I was still having issues in my stomach and love handles area I would add exercises that work the stomach and core muscles. Situps, crunches, ab rollers, stuff like that. If you type "Abdominal Exercises" into google, the first link that comes up should be…

I did this in high school (years ago) without actually knowing I was doing it. I was also working fast food at the time so I was taking in less carbs than normal due to primarily snacking on meat and cheese while I was working. In 9 months I dropped from from about 240 to 170 pounds at 6'2" height. It was the most in shape…

Also, the off brand Greek Yogurt such as Kroger (Dillon's) brand has almost half the carbs as the more expensive, name brand Greek Yogurts like the Fage, Chobani, and Oikos brands. This is probably due to more real fruit in the more expensive brands, and fruit is good, but if you're looking for a good place to cut a few…

Just simply changing a couple things you're eating can make the difference. If you have a routine of eating the same things a lot, try mixing it up and switching out one thing with something else that you're not currently eating. For instance, the same thing happened to me and one of the things I was eating with my lunch…

BEST ... EVER! (and ... great way to hijack the thread) :devil:

Great article! I like how they mention that the research was funded by the egg industry but then they point out that the results are in line with other studies that were not funded by the egg industry.

Just reading the recipe made my stomach growl ......

@TxAngel79 .... 8.76935 @asayer ... I'm rating that dessert a 10 in deliciousness and a -10 in healthiness.

GREAT job! A true inspiration to all of us. In regards to that 1 pound ... I know you want it and you will get it but the most important thing is that you're keeping that weight off. You're maintaining and not gaining and that's what a lot of people have the hardest time with. Before starting MFP I was the yo-yo type so I…

Ditto to what everyone else said. Muscle weighs more than fat. When I started dieting I lost 4-5 pounds per week from just changing my eating habits (I'm obese) but when I started working out the weight loss dropped to about 2 pounds per week. I can definitely tell a difference in how my clothes fit though. Keep it up!

Exactly my plan! At my current obese weight I will continue with what I'm doing as long as I continue losing 2-3 lbs per week like I have been. Once that starts to plateau I will slowly add calories, check the results, and then re-adjust accordingly until I'm back to losing 2 lbs/week again. According to the BMI…

At 300+ pounds I'll take weight loss in any shape or form. I've lived most of my life fat and unhealthy so I think I'll be fine with living the rest of my life thinner and unhealthy.

I doubt "a lot of the lost will be muscle" because as long as I continue my protein intake and exercise my body will continue building muscle. The more likely scenario is that a lot of what will be lost will be fat .... and I got a crap load of that to spare!

WHEN my body gets in better shape and starts to burn more calories then I'll start worrying about eating the "proper" amount of calories. My BMR is 2,493 calories and MFP has set my daily calorie goal at 2,120 which is below my BMR. Today, I had net calories of 1,398 and when I completed my Food Diary it said that if I ate…
