Is there swelling associated with it? My feet go numb when I workout intensely, but there is no swelling and it goes away a few minutes after I stop. That can just be an effect of the type of pressure you are putting on your foot. When I first started working out on land my ankles would become sore very quickly. You have…

The second I go to do sit ups or push-ups my cat plops down on top of me...I guess it is a little extra resistance! He really likes to help with stuff.

Keep track of your heart rate...sometimes your exertion feels high but you could really push yourself more.

The most important thing is to work out when you feel like you can do your best. If I tried to work out in the morning I would probably end up doing half as much because I have absolutely no energy then. If you try it at both times, say a couple mornings and then a couple evenings, and see which one is getting more done,…

Men are, from a biological standpoint, generally attracted to women with a thin waist, large breasts, and wide hips.. This is simply because these are some of the best indicators of a female's fitness as a mother: a small waist indicates she has not had many pregnancies already and is young and healthy; wide hips will…

I have gained two pounds since joining, but my waist size has not changed. So if your measurements aren't changing, it is probably fat turning into muscle. The thing about logging calories for exercise on here is they basically just calculate it off your weight and age. As you get more fit you may actually be burning less…

This happens to me to, although it sort of allows me to justify my sugar intake since I end up drinking like four times more water if I eat something sugary than I normally would.

A lot of times people who are in shape on land but are just starting to swim will be pretty good kickers, so you might find that at the beginning you feel like you can work harder kicking. Another problem is, of course, the breathing, so people's lungs will get tired and they have to take a break, meaning the HR is not…

This is something I am very passionate about. I struggled with an eating disorder as a middle schooler, so after that all the adults around me felt like they had to constantly be pushing the every one is beautiful, weight doesn't matter message. I also believe that my parents never said anything about my younger brother…

Gary the grey kitty, taken in at 4 weeks old, and thus has some problems identifying his species. My dozens of fish that will eventually provide me with a master's thesis!

Just the crust of a freezer pizza is perfect my fiance never eats the crusts so I am left with them for a snack!

I think the worst one I can think of right now was a king size Mr. Goodbar, a movie theater size box of Reese's Pieces, a can of cashews, and three bowls of honey comb. That, my friends, is over 3000 cals and 100 g of fat. Don't know how I managed not to gain a pound after that.

I really honestly don't know how academics was done without the interwebs. That would make grade school a billion times harder.

French silk pie, from Perkins. Yummmm.

I think the strength section might just be more to keep track of your progress, i.e. weights and reps. Not sure though.

Swimming for weight loss WORKS. You burn more calories then you take in, you lose weight! Even if swimming, and only in very cool water, stimulates your appetite more, you are logging your food and will be aware of how much you need to eat. Swimming is almost the only way I've stayed in shape and lost weight when I want…

Synchronized swimming for 13 years, and since my "retirement" have given that up and continued to improve on my speed swimming and use it as my main activity. I do 3 times a week 3500-4000 yds, alternating with cardio machines on land (never learned to run!) So glad to see other people who swim!

I am also looking to lose about 5-10 pounds to drop my BMI and body fat percent to 20 each. Sometimes I feel like my stomach is the size of a normal person's but I am not supposed to eat very much! The only way I can cope with it is to exercise as much as possible so I can eat enough to be full.

ripplesofaqua18 said it all. It is just much easier for people to take up running then take up swimming, so it might be easier to burn more calories since you can go longer and harder on land. For me, since I have never been a runner and always been a swimmer, I can do way more in the pool. As you get to be a better…

This doesn't happen to me on the elliptical, because I think I sort of pick my feet up, but on the machine that is sort of like air running (no tracks, I always call it a cross trainer) they get numb because my toes are pressed into the front of the foothold.

I have to eat a reduced sugar diet, specifically fructose-rich foods, and I really wish I didn't! I actually generally have been sicker, but I have also had to cut out a lot of produce and whole grains. I think if you cut out things like baked goods, ice cream, milk chocolate, cereals, etc, but leave in fruits and…

I am not, more like almost 5' 1", but I feel like being even this short makes losing just a few pounds really difficult. What are your goals?

This works in a very similar way to any diet that restricts the types of food you can intake, and regiments your eating habits. Of course it is going to be healthy to cut our refined sugars, factory meats, and fatty dairy. However, it is a little disconcerting for people to carry on about how this is the best diet since…
