  • Fallacy. Your body doesn't know the difference between calories in at 7AM versus calories in at 7PM. Or 11PM for that matter. I would agree with other posters that 2100 seems high. I started off around 1800 (3 hrs of exercise 3 times a week, and moderately active at work), and have since dropped down to just shy of 1600.
  • I'm just gonna get this off my chest because it's driving me up the wall... Just because it's natural and hasn't any sort of "process" applied, doesn't mean you SHOULD be consuming it. Case in point: RAW milk. You'll lose weight quickly... by having persisent Campylobacter, Listeria, Salmonella and possible E. coli…
  • Eat the cereal dry and have a glass of milk with it. That's what I do... But, also, soggy cereal is just gross.
  • Good Dress--We Are Smug
  • Extremely glad my favorite band/now solo singer has not made the list at all. If he had, I would have gone on a flame fest... Cannot stand Taylor Swift, 4 Non-Blondes, Nicki Minaj, Beiber. I find most everything at least tolerable...
  • Congrats!!! I started off at 285, as well, but have yet to take and post pics. I notice a difference in myself, too, as do others around me. Maybe when I hit the official halfway mark to my 1st goal (50 lbs lost), I will be willing to show my progress
  • Health and to prove to the "other" doctor that I don't need the cholesterol meds he was trying to shove down my throat without even running a blood panel.
  • Food microbiologist for the state of Ohio. I also work closely with the FDA and USDA. I like my job for the most part, but politics makes my job difficult to love... (READ: We have 6 people trying to do the job of about 12-14 people, and the workload is EVER INCREASING)
  • A supplement of calcium plus Vit D isn't gonna hurt anything. I take 2 tablets plus whatever is in the multivitamin a day. I also get about 3-4 servings of dairy.
  • Why not just make a drink last longer? Rather than throwing back 2-3 beers an hour, only drink one followed by a few glass of water. Fun shouldn't equate to getting $h!tfaced drunk. JS. I still have a few drinks on the weekends and during the week (case in point, 2 glass of red wine with dinner and STILL finished under my…
  • I totally understand how you feel. I was on vacation this past week and the hotel had a fitness center. I went in the last hour it was open (hoping that no one else was going to be down there). There were 3 other people in there, 2 of which who were using the treadmills. No one said anything to me about doing brisk…
  • No. I walked 8-10 miles while sightseeing in DC this last week, and I didn't even log that as exercise.
  • My 1st goal is to get to 185. My next goal will be to try to 150. But I will stop if I ever start looking emaciated.
  • That and the less you have to lose, the longer it takes. Someone who has a 100+ lbs to lose, like myself, the weight will practically fall off. I'm sure when I get closer to my 1st GW, it will slow significantly. Then, when I progress to lose the remain 30 lbs, it will be agonizing!
  • I have been logging it as "Dancing, aerobic, ballet or modern, twist". I don't have a HRM, either.
  • Columbus, Ohio!
  • False. TNP will get a pedicure this weekend.
  • Agreed, although I HATED Cataclysm with a passion. Hated it. Hate Mist even more.
  • It's a whole lotta delish! I eat it with veggies or pita. I also like to use it for burritos (opposed to using refried beans or black/pinto beans).
  • That's still moving forward... just not at the rate you had wished.
  • I don't even bother monitoring sugar. Do you care to know why? Because "sugar" encompasses the lactose in milk, the glucose/fructose from fruit, the complex carbohydrates from whole grains AND the sugars (HFCS, sucrose) from pop/juice/sweetened drinks. So, with that said, I go OVER my "sugar" everyday just because of the…
  • I weigh on Saturdays, so no idea how the day affected me. BUT, I did manage to stay under my calories (after 30 mins of Just Dance). And I don't regret the chocolate eggies, potato casserole, ice cream cake, steak and wedge salad! I AM ALLOWED TO HAVE A FREE-FOR-ALL DAY ONCE A WEEK!
  • East of Columbus, OH here.

  • I still go to Starbucks maybe once a week. It's a habit that I can't quite give up. But, as with most stuff, everything in moderation. Also, I can't seem to make at home iced coffees/frappucinos as good as what you can get at a coffeehouse-place.
  • I had 3 cars in the 1st 2 months I got my license. And no, I wasn't THAT reckless. I learned to drive in an '87 Camry and I drove that for 2 weeks until my folks decided they would be more comfortable with me driving the '94 Taurus. A month and half later, I got rear ended and the car was totaled. So, after that, my folks…
  • Just started Les Miserables last night. Just finished Water For Elephants.
  • Leftover herb roasted chicken and veggies. DELISH!
  • I'm all about the sparkling water. All the fizz of pop with none of the sugar or calories. They also make flavored sparkling water (lemon-lime, raspberry, etc). The flavored ones might be a nice replacement for pop occassionally. Going cold turkey is hard... I would just start slowly metering it out, and once you get…
  • This was me for the longest time. I've adapted to eating cereal during the week and omelettes on the weekend. On the rare occassion, I like to go to Cracker Barrel and get sausage, ham, bacon, eggs, biscuits, and hashbrown casserole. BUT, for the most part... You can count me as someone who doesn't like breakfast. Anytime…
