  • Vinegar-based coleslaw is perfect picnic food! The creamy versions have too much fat, and an acid-base, like vinegar, helps stabilize blood sugar to boot! And, if straight cabbage isn't a favorite, add lots of shredded carrots, celery, zucchini, jicama... any crunchy veggie really.

  • Add 1-2 T ricotta cheese per 4-5 oz ground turkey.... while it doesn't do TOO much in the way of adding flavor, ricotta is low fat, good calcium, and keeps turkey burgers nice and moist for grilling or broiling!
