  • I spent 60years losing and gaining going between 11 and 14 stone and once as high as 17, @. 5'1". . Lost 1/2 my body weight/7stone with this app over 2 yrs and kept it off now for for almost 2 years. First time in my life to be this low weight and for this long, ie forever. The secret? Just keep logging. Exercise, dont…
  • After tracking through 2 years losing 7 stone, I have continued to tack through 18 months of maintenance, the last 6 of which I have added in exercise. The tracking helps me adjust to changes, experiment with changes to my diet and has really helped me understand my nutritional needs, eg I realised I need more protein and…
  • Agree with all above. I lost 7 stone (now been 7 stone for 18 months) over 2 years and took a year practicing maintenance - going up and down 25 cals at a time. It's true, you eat a bit more and your body keeps a bit more water in the cells so you panic and take off some calories when you didnt need to and the weight drops…
  • I'm a sewer so I either took some in to fit new shape or put in big tucks as I love oversize clothes fashion. Even though I am now a UK size 6-10, I still have some size 22s I wear. I even buy oversize clothes as a fashion, usually top or bottom, so I will wear tight jeans with a size 20 jacket or a tight t-shirt or shirt…
  • just like frozen spinach, frozen cauliflower, lettuce and cucumbers, you can add it to sweet smoothies and you will only taste the sweetness. ie frozen fruit or a little pure cocoa powder and, if you dont mind sweetners, Truvia or similar.
  • I would have thought a small calorie defecit, or none, while doing weights and getting plenty protein in support of muscle building. The small defict and/or weights will lose the body fat while, the bigger heavier muscle will increase your weight. Even if you dont want big muscles, you still want more muscle than fat. The…
  • agree. i forgot to add that it is good to mix it up a bit so you dont have exactly same calories each day. Just like some people use the 5/2 diet ie 5 days normal eat and 2 days fast/low cal (500-800), I think it is good to give your body a wake up regularly, nothet in a rut. Now I have tried 5/2 and while its not for me (…
  • i agree with this and middlehaitch. This is no 1 before all other advice - knowing the calories you need. The other good advice offered is about finding what is best way for you to keep yourself feeling satisfied, healthy and positive. But you first need to work out the number of calories you need to stay the same. Ad…
  • I've done that too with big weight losses on various diets. Stopped 10 yrs ago after last loss and tho it was good to give up dieting and only put it on slowly rather than the yoyo circle, its good to start losing again. Just remember the hardest bit is just before u start, that fear of hunger. It gets easier because your…
  • 1. 5:2 dasting Let us know how u find the 5:2. I use to 0 cals fast a lot about 30 years ago. Now i heard about 5:2 where fast days are 650 cals and i would adapt only if i have couple of days i feel like doing it such as when i have long sleep in or feel i need to kick start metabolism - BUT i would to adapt it to MFP. Ie…
