  • Well, hopefully you've gotten out your negative feelings on the post and can now focus on the present and future! You are still here and logging in and that is something to be proud of. I hear you on how the downward slide seems to go much faster and easier than the uphill climb, but that's gravity for you! Try grabbing a…
  • I have a question as to what "net calories" means on the reports page under nutrition. When I bring it up and see the bar graph there are days where it says that I am at 500 Kcals for the day --- which is not true and when I look back to that day it is accurate with the amount of calories I recorded. Am I missing…
  • I'm in too!!! I agree with the smaller goals idea. I will commit to 10 pounds by April 11, 2008. Thanks for the great idea to start with 10, seems much easier that way. I weigh in on Sundays and I was at 146 last Sunday (I notice quite a bit of fluctuation on my scale though). My goal weght is 125. Good luck…
  • Well, I gained three pounds and I'm actually happy about it! Not the direction I want to go in, but I fell off the wagon pretty bad and this showed me the consequences in a real concrete manner. Now I'm more motivated than ever :drinker:
  • "Failure is not an option" is my new motto. It is now written in big indelible pen in front of my elliptical trainer and in red lipstick on my bathroom mirror! Thank you --- very smart
  • Thanks Tami! You are right....I just need to get back on track . I too don't want family pics or to go to a beach...I totally get that. Congrats to you on level 17 (I don't even know if my elliptical has 17 levels - I'm on level 3 :ohwell: ). Thanks for your support and input. stephanie
  • Thank you everyone! Exactly what I needed...I'm back on track today thanks to you (and me, of course!) :drinker:
  • Hi all, I seem tp have taken a mini vacation from my health care plan and am having a hard time getting restarted. I figure I am not the only one. It has been less than a week and I am going to journal and workout again today, but what keeps everyone so motivated?
  • Way to go! An inspiration to us all...thanks for sharing
  • Every "body" is different. 1200 cals may be the bottom limit for some (petite people), but not everybody. Also, everybody burns a different amount of calories depending on their fat to muscle ratio ... the numbers on websites and machines are not accurate for everybody and just a guide. The more muscle you build the more…
  • yeah, I'm pretty sure that would put you into starvation mode. You really need to eat enough so that your basal metabolic rate is met (BMR) --- you can find it under the tools section and plug in your numbers to get it. Also, with your weight loss goals I am assuming you are not eating nearly enough which is just going to…
  • Hi and welcome. I, too, am from Seattle and just joined. I have a 2 and a half year old little girl and have the weight to prove it! So far, I've found this site to be awesome for keeping track of what I eat and reminding me that I am working toward something. It is always in the forefront of my mind now and before this…
  • Hi, I'm not sure where you learned that 24 g was a sugar limit...on a 2000 kcal diet it is around 40 grams, however, the bottom line is calories in/calories burned for weight loss. I hope you are not foregoing beneficial fruits and vegetables to lower your sugar intake. I have to commend you for being so vigilant...you…
  • That's great! Way to go! Thanks for the inspiration :drinker:
  • I tried, but nothing came up on the page
  • as did I :flowerforyou:
  • Hi, I just started and am impressed by everyone's motivation!!! My timeline for losing weight is a little different, but I'd like to join in anyway. I have my 20 year h.s reunion in early June and I'm looking to lose 20 pounds by then. Unfortunately, I have recently had abdominal surgery so I can't lift wieght at the…
  • Wow! That is great encouragement for someone starting out. Congratulations and doesn't it feel great to give to someone else! :flowerforyou:
  • Actually, new research states that caffeine counts as full liquid as the amount of caffeine is not enough to encourage diuretic properties. Our kidneys are amazing at regulating our hydration status and though I am personally opposed to caffeine...go ahead drink up and count it.
  • thanks
