  • YAYYY....good for you. Those are always nice surprises. The few extra unexpected pounds lost make it feel like a Saturday. Also, without hearing your reasons for 2 scales, I could see me getting them for my own reasons. As it stands, I weigh myself 3 or 4 times in a row, in different postures, moving the scale around on…
  • Taylor...I thought you said you needed good music when you go running
  • Lazyboy...my fiance was actually given that exact instruction. Her school director said she had to call it Asian New Year. When I heard that, I flipped my ****. It isn't Asian New Year at all. It is Chinese. LOL. It is a Chinese calendar. Imagine having to call "Mexican Food" "Central American Food" instead....or "French…
  • I am offended by holiday spheres as well. Eggs are elliptical in shape, not circular. That teaches the children of this world to indiscriminately label shapes inappropriately. On a real note though, I see where you are coming from and I agree to a very large extent. My fiance is a teacher and sometimes I am boggled by the…
  • I like this post...thanks...it makes alot of sense.
  • Dont feel bad. Two weeks ago I gained 7 lbs from a weekend binge. Some of it is still hanging around. I have been stacking fiber and water and working out, but I cant reach that low again.
  • From the fridge...eat the pepper. Throw everything else away. From the baking supplies...eat the flax, oatmeal, and nuts. Throw everything else away. Problem solved.
  • I cook something that has alot of cabbage in it, but it isnt a cabbage recipe exactly. I take a cast iron pot, and put a little bit of olive oil at the bottom...very small amount. Then I chop up cabbage into thick shreds and throw it in. About 2 to 3 carrots, peeled, cut diagonally into planks and throw them in, 2 onions…

  • That happens to me sometimes, too. You icing it?

  • I weigh myself almost everyday and very often more than once a day. I agree that if you are going to beat yourself up over minor fluctuations, then you shouldn't do it. If you understand that food has mass which equals weight in your body and that hydration can really push your numbers around, then I don't see a problem…
  • Deep chocolate topped with peanut butter, microwaved for 35 seconds, then hit it with two spoonfuls of skinny cow caramel vanilla swirl icecream,,,,YOWZA!!!
  • Robinator is right about burning out. I did P90X for a week and a half before I got injured. I cut too many calories and by the start of week 2, I could get nothing done.
  • Depends on what you are eating and drinking. I had a blowout Saturday for my bachelor party. Ate about 1.5 lbs of barbecue...literally...and drank a fair amount of beer. On Monday I was up about 6 lbs. By Tuesday I was up 5. Today I am up about 4. Drink more water and hit the cardio.
  • beans, nuts, tofu, legumes, lentils, tempeh, wheat gluten, soymilk, rice protein powder, if you eat eggs and dairy, then skim milk and eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese
  • Let's change the topic title from "Determined not to fail!" to "Determined to Succeed!" This place really does help you stay on track. Sign in regularly, check out the forums, and make some friends. Becoming involved in your own process will keep you motivated. Congrats!!
  • ICK...that stuff is the worst. My fiance loves it. It has to be one of the grossest things ever.
  • Complex carbs are good. Refined sugars, processed flours, are bad. Brown rice, grains, barley, oatmeal, quinoa, sweet potates etc. good. White bread, white rice, regular pasta, cookies, crackers, bagels, etc. not the best. I still eat white rice with my sushi, but come on...cut me some slack...it is like a quarter cup of…
  • 187 to 140 is huge. And you look great. That being said, there is always room for improvement, always something more we can do. My fiance is 5'2" and about 123. She is pretty thin. I think you would probably be happy 10 to 15 lbs lighter than you are...but that is it. You have some boobies in your profile pic...don't risk…
  • My fiance bought me a pair of Superman briefs. They dont look right with my gut...motivation.
  • I like this advice. Not saying that you arent doing this, but people always try to figure out some riddle for 'the last few lbs' or 'to break through the plateau'....I personally think, change it up a little but be INTENSE. Run your body super lean for a couple of days, give it nowhere to hide. Once your insides realize…
  • And just a word on being under 1200 calories. I enjoy being under 1200 calories. It happens regularly. My weight loss has been awesome, my muscles are intact, and I feel like I am running clean. If you are trying to bulk up, you can't go this low on calories. If you are trying to cut down, you can. Eat varied fruits and…
  • LOL....this is great. I am going to wear the chest strap and monitor next time. I think we should start a new forum called HRM-Inter. We should all record what our HR and burn numbers were for the session. To avoid embarrassment, I will not post duration.
  • It is strange to me that people are discussing the frequency with which you should eat and not what the original poster is suggesting should be eaten. Just about everything listed as a carb/protein combo looked unhealthy. Cold cuts and cheese, nacho chips and cheese sauce, canadian bacon, ritz crackers?!? I would have…
  • Most importantly, do you still make pizza and what kind? I love me some pizza!!!
  • You might also just need to let your body adjust. It is used to processing more mass and stuff that is not as clean. Your MAF sensor needs to recalibrate to use the fuel effectively and clean the exhaust end up. I am experiencing it right now. Last night I ate wayyyy too little. Today I feel like I am going to burst.
  • OK....I am not calling any of you fatties, but this is definitely a fatty post!!! Last thing I need at 9 am is to think about all the randomly delicious foods that dont need to be combined ;)
  • I know this is not the same, but it is a good stand in, I think. The Smart Ones Orange Sesame Chicken is actually really good and it kills the chinese food urge. It is a good portion controlled option with a count on it and you know what you are getting. I just ate the Hunan Stirfry w Beef from Lean Cuisine, and it wasnt…
  • Did you mean to say woop there it is or WHOOMP THERE IT IS!!!!
