I would go get checked out. I have a friend who has been TTC for a long time with no success. Well, she did conceive once but then miscarried pretty quickly. She finally went to her naturopath, got checked out and had blood work done. Her estrogen and progesterone levels were extremely low and she was told if she did…

I'm mostly paleo. I've been gluten free for over a year but just went grain free about a week ago for health reasons. I don't do much dairy anyway so I'm not worrying about that at the moment but I did cut out beans because I think they hate me anyway. I am amazed at how much better I feel after only a week without grains!…

Green smoothies. Usually with the greens and the fruit I choose they have tons of potassium.

I'm not a morning person but I do have four kids that I homeschool so getting up is important if we're going to get anything done. Even though I consistently get up by at least 6:30 I still HATE working out that early! When I have worked out that early I just don't have it in me to work out at the intensity I want. I do…

My husband had/has it. For him it gets better when he doesn't eat gluten and worse when he does. I'm not sure if it's the wheat or gluten itself but even he will admit it's better when he's gluten free (which of course means wheat free). Me and the kids are all gluten free because we can't tolerate it and I've long…

I only have one large cup a day and usually it's with some half and half only. However, I have some extra heaving whipping cream in my fridge right now and the last couple of days I've used a splash of that. Oh yum! Yes it's high in calories but I seem to be able to squeeze it into my day so I'm enjoying the decadence. :)

If you can get your doctor to refer you to a gastroenterologist they would probably be the most helpful in tracking down whatever is going on. You will still need to be very aware and follow up leads on your own, especially if it seems the doctor isn't pursuing things the way you want. I've known celiacs that have taken…

Well at least you know for sure now and can just move forward. My 13 year old son had to do the same experiment. After the migraines and puking showed up he decided he was happy being gluten free.

Awesome!

Before I got my heart rate monitor I just logged it as marching or brisk walking. After I got my HRM I just wear that and log the numbers. I won't tell you what I burn for each workout though because it's probably completely different for you since it varies with age weight. :)

I appreciate your comment. I have been fighting the idea of going grain free for some time but have been thinking it was probably the next step for me. I don't do very much dairy to begin with so I'm not worrying about that at the moment but just three days of grain free has already been pretty impactful! Not just the…

Awesome! I have fibro too and have been learning lots about what my body likes and what it doesn't. For example, I learned that I can't eat potatoes! They leave me curled in a ball on the couch whimpering with widespread pain. I'm so thankful I figured that one out! My husband is building me a squat cage in the garage so I…

I got it from the library out of curiosity but didn't even finish it. I've been gluten free for over a year because I am intolerant to it and have a variety of issues when I eat it. I didn't lose a single pound when I went gluten free though. That's why it was hard to read and I didn't finish, because he was making claims…

I forgot to mention Uva Ursi (also known as bearberry) works really well but don't take it with cranberry juice. That with d-mannose was what finally kicked my UTI even after antibiotics didn't touch it. Now I start with that and if it doesn't work I will go in for antibiotics but I haven't had that happen yet. Drinking…

D-mannose is an extract from cranberry and works amazingly well. I only use that now. I had a UTI, did the doctor route with antibiotics and everything and I couldn't kick it. I cut out all sugar and did D-Mannose for three days and it was gone and didn't return. To relieve the burning you can take a little baking soda in…

I've just received a number to call so I can start the process but I was kind of assuming we were going to have to supply his food. Him being two hours away, getting glutened and spending the week with headaches and throwing up is just not what I want him to have to deal with! The idea of packing two boxes and sorting the…

We are gluten free at home but they can eat whatever they want when they're out. It's just too hard to keep the kitchen contamination free when there are gluten filled products being used. Since it's my kitchen, I win! :) My family doesn't really mind because I still cook things we like but have adapted them to be GF. If…

They fed them a liquid diet of 600 calories a day and they were surprised that the patients exhibited mental and physical signs of starvation?

I love popcorn too but the difference for me is when I eat it we pop it in coconut oil and drizzle a little butter on it. I don't like eating it without, it's like eating styrofoam to me. Plus I end up with the insulin spike and plummet but the fat keeps me from doing that. I work it into my calories and I don't worry…

Popcorn and corn are gluten free but you could have a corn intolerance or there could be added gluten to the products you ate. I know I have to be careful about chips because many of them have gluten or are produced in plants where they could get contaminated. I don't know about microwave popcorn and what additives it…

It's just food. You made a bad choice for one meal, make a good choice on the next on and take it from there. You're only a failure if you quit.

It depends on you. For some people they can feel better within a few days, for others recovery can can several weeks. I'm assuming you're "detoxing" because you have an issue with gluten and not because it's been called a weight loss tool. If you've been eating lots of carbs and have drastically cut them due to cutting out…

Whole egg! My chickens give me eggs that are very orange because they free range, I'm not wasting that! I can't wait for my ducks to start laying!

Maybe they'll have a dance off like in Westside Story! Gonna wait for that...

I work out without shoes on all the time. I do Turbofire, P90X, Firm workouts and Walk Away the Pounds all in bare feet. I used to do Taekwondo at a studio and we were required to workout barefoot. Since I love being barefoot it was only natural that I ended up without shoes at home too. I should mention that I have foam…

Welcome to MFP! Sounds like you have been through a lot of trials but with perseverance you made it through. And with perseverance you can get that weight off too! There is a ton of information around the site and if you need help all you have to do is open your diary and ask. People are more than willing to offer their…

Here's the GF group I'm in here on MFP: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/129-gluten-free I know there are others so if you do a search I'm sure you can find them. I have to ask, are you sure it's gluten that's being triggered? I have gluten sensitivity issues but I discovered that my bigger issue is potatoes. Gluten…

I'm grain free because grain seems to hate me. Potatoes too. :( Trust me, if I could eat them I would! I'm thankful for all the paleo and grain free sites though that give me recipes for grain free food because otherwise I'd be curled up in a corner somewhere sobbing over my loss. My body apparently doesn't care about…

Tomorrow I'm celebrating the 20th anniversary of my 22nd birthday. Does that count?

I made one the other day with cottage cheese diced cucumber diced peppers chives diced tomatoes herbs of choice (basil, oregano, sage) salt and pepper apple cider vinegar olive oil I mixed the vinegar, oil, herbs, salt and pepper together as a dressing and then stirred it all together. It was good the first day but REALLY…
