You are adorable and that is a great story! Great job and congrats on your engagement and weight loss!

Wheat flour, corn starch, arrowroot powder, mashed potato flakes or you can puree vegetables and use that to help thicken. the potato flakes and vegetable puree won't be quite the same texture but you might like it. I'd try a few different options over the next few times you make it and see what you like best.

I have a friend who is allergic to the casein in dairy. She can't eat any dairy or she will be in the same condition you describe. For her it's beyond lactose intolerance and is an actual allergy to the casein protein. You might want to get tested to rule it out because if that is the case you will have to be very careful…

My husband doesn't like being shirtless (never has) so I bought him a rash guard to swim in. It's just a t-shirt made of swim suit material and you can buy them at many local stores now. We got his at Costco for $20 and I bought my 13 year old son one at Target. My son likes them because they have sun protection built in…

I **CAN'T** eat any of those things because I am gluten intolerant and apparently potato intolerant. I didn't even know you could be potato intolerant but apparently I am. I have been gluten free for over a year and potato free for a few months. Let's have a moment of silence please... I have not magically lost any weight…

I make smoothies. I can stuff a lot of vegetables in a green smoothie! I also like them roasted in the oven with a little coconut oil and a sprinkling of salt and pepper and maybe some garlic. Zucchini, asparagus, brussel sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage are all really good like that.

My daughter was having health issues so we tried a few different food eliminations at different times. Each food was taken out for a number of weeks and then she added it back in. We noted how she felt at both times and the clear culprit for her was gluten. She hasn't got celiac but she is definitely intolerant. Because of…

Just like it probably took your mind some time to come to grips with the fact that you are smaller, your family might need some time too. I have a friend who lost a pretty good chunk of weight and I admit, I thought he was looking too thin and should stop. I didn't say anything because I know he and his wife are very…

I didn't notice any difference in weight gain or loss while I was on it or when I quit taking it. I quit because it was raising my blood pressure to bad places so maybe keep an eye on that.

I'm a cake decorator/baker doing it as a cottage business in my state. When I first started I tasted a lot but now my recipes are pretty well set. Occasionally I'll need an opinion but I'm gluten intolerant so I usually have to ask a trusted friend or family member for their opinion. Being gluten intolerant does keep me…

I love eggs but not for breakfast. In fact, breakfast is a hard one for me to get myself to eat most days. I have found that for me a smoothie works really well. I can blend up some vegetables and fruit, coconut oil, flax and whatever else I want into a tasty drink and just sip on it. I get LOTS of greens this way and I…

If you or someone you know have a pressure canner you can can the broth and store it at room temp. Otherwise you'll need to store what you aren't using right away in the freezer. I will occasionally put gelatin in my smoothies just to get it in me without tasting it. That works pretty well. Dissolving it in whatever warm…

I am brand new to this group and brand new to actually trying go go paleo (although I've been reading about it for awhile now). I do know that bone broths are a good way to get gelatin and other good things into your diet and bone broths help with joints, hair, skin, bones and nails. To make a bone broth you need to bring…

I have fibro and have found that the key is to listen to what my body is doing that day. The days I feel good I have to be careful not to push it too far or I overdo it and end up regretting it. I also find that weight lifting is kinder to me than cardio that has me jumping around or impacts my joints. The Leslie Sansone…

So now that you're in to your Whole30 a couple of weeks how is it going? Are you noticing a decrease in pain or anything? I know food impacts my pain levels so I'm always trying to be aware of how I feel after eating. I recently learned that potatoes hate me. If I eat them it's like someone beat me up and my entire body…

I don't think I have a horror story to rival any here but since I do wedding cakes from time to time I have learned a few things I'm mentally storing away for when my kids get married. I always encourage my brides to do all the ceremonial stuff at the reception as soon as possible. Fling your bouquet, toss the garter, make…

I make at least one green smoothie in my VM everyday! I blend anything and everything and it always ends up smooth and amazing (well, unless you throw nasty ingredients in there! There have been a few "interesting" smoothies.) My husband bought me mine about 6 years ago for my birthday and it has paid for itself over and…

Ideally you should monitor your BP at home for two weeks and see what's going on. Mine fluctuates throughout the day and different things can effect it. For example, when I drink coffee it goes up! :( The DASH diet (just google it) is the go to diet that is usually prescribed for high BP. If you google it you can find lots…

Well I have a Vitamix but they'll both get the job done so I thought I'd link you to my Pinterest board. It has lots of smoothie recipes that will work. You can google "smoothies", "green smoothies" or "green thickies" and get plenty of ideas. The thickies are one persons name for smoothies with oatmeal in them. Lots and…

I can't eat gluten because it makes me feel bad plus I get these little blisters on my fingers, brain fog and I cant concentrate. I discovered my own intolerance after helping my 19 year old daughter realize she was intolerant to it. I was in denial for a little while longer. Worse than gluten for me (both in how I feel…

Aside from the poached, fried, boiled, deviled, frittata, quiche and custard ideas did you know you can freeze them? When my chickens are in overdrive I blend the eggs all together in the blender on low so they're just combined. Then pour them into ice cube trays. For the trays I use you need two cubes to equal one egg.…

I can't stand it. I have a FB acquaintance that I don't know very well who addresses me as "hon" every time she posts. Drives me nuts!

I had a smoothie: kale, honeydew melon, banana, a few frozen grapes, flax seed, chia seed, cinnamon, turmeric, a smidgeon of fresh ginger and a little ice. It was like sunshine in a glass!

I have had FM for roughly five years and I also don't have insurance. About a year and a half ago my oldest daughter was having some issues so we did some food eliminating to see if something she was eating was the issue. First we took dairy out for a few weeks and saw no change. When we added it back in it still didn't…

My husband is bald and I think he's VERY sexy! Much better than trying to hide his hair loss. He shaves the hair he has and looks delicious!
