  • Our gym has two squat racks and for some reason couples decide to use them side by side. Yesterday I'd just had enough but asked to rotate in. The guy decided to let me and moved over to work with his girlfriend. I felt a little rude but seriously, why do they need to take up BOTH racks when they're working out together?…
  • Amazing! Great work!
  • IMO, blood tests are not the end all/be all of determining if you've got an issue, especially with something like gluten. I don't have an "official" gluten allergy but I am definitely intolerant. I get very achy, migraines, so, so tired and extremely emotional. My kids are the same way but when we steer clear, we're fine.…
  • I married a nice guy. He was in the friend zone for about a year but when he asked me out I said yes. We've been together for 25 years now and I have no regrets letting him out of the friend zone!
  • Gah! I can't make it work!
  • One thing about having food allergies and intolerances is I never feel guilty about saying no to something. If you didn't ask for it and he brought you something it's perfectly acceptable to thank him but decline. You don't have to justify yourself but you can use an excuse if it makes you feel better. :)
  • I have found if I up the incline a little bit it helps the shins. The other thing is, try using a foam roller and rolling out your calves and shins after your workout. You can get tightness from the treadmill as well as whatever your workout is (I'm assuming weights?) Rolling is delicious.
  • The majority of that "article" seemed like one of those emotion building sales pitch ads you see online where they try to sell you on their diet or health fad but you need to act now! The entire message seemed like emotional manipulation to get the good believers worked into a frenzy over something I just didn't see in the…
  • It takes me a lot longer to get dressed now because I spend too much time flexing in the mirror and feeling up my new muscles. :blushing:
  • At 7 months he's perfectly able to be ignored for 30 minutes if all his physical needs are met. I may be branded one of those awful mothers but I have four kids (19, 17, 14 and 9) and we homeschooled all of them all the way through. It was imperative that I carved out time for myself, even when they were babies. They will…
  • I LOVE oven roasted zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts or cabbage. That's my absolute, all time favorite. In fact, I'm eating a plate full of oven roasted zucchini as I type this. Tossed the fresh zucchini pieces with a little olive oil, salt, pepper and garlic then roasted until perfection.
  • Yesterday marked day 1140 for me but there are lots of people who've logged longer. :)
  • Knitting, crocheting, sewing, paper crafting, baking/cake decorating (that one is a hobby that got out of control), fishing, target shooting, coloring (and I use sparkly gel pens so there!) I would really love to take a painting class. My husband says my hobby is "having hobbies"
  • Great work and you look fantastic!
  • I stick it in my coffee, tea, smoothies and soup. When I put it in something like coffee or tea I soften it first. With coffee I just stir it into my creamer and let it sit a few minutes before pouring the hot coffee in. When doing tea I use a little cold water instead of the cream. If you do that you're less likely to…
  • I really like tea but what I drink will vary depending on my mood. I enjoy a good Irish Breakfast tea with a little milk and stevia now and then. When I'm sick I like lemon tea with honey or lemon and ginger tea with honey. My regular, everyday preferences though are those that tend to be spicy; Vanilla Chai, Pumpkin…
  • I knit and crochet so I'll often do that while watching TV. I will admit, I also like to color. I get the more "grown up" coloring books at the craft store and color or doodle while watching TV. Or I'll just put my laptop on my lap and mess around online while watching. I can't just sit and watch TV for some reason. I…
  • We are gluten free (I'm grain free). One of the symptoms that I and all four of our kids get when we've eating gluten is we get very emotional. A couple of my kids get irritable but I and my son get weepy and depressed. I've pretty much gone paleo because of my food issues and I can tell you that my long time anxiety has…
  • get airheads candy and roll them into roses.
  • I buy the organic baby spinach Costco sells and throw them in the freezer for my smoothies. I bulk shop once a month so I buy nine of them. The other produce it depends on my local grocery store sales and the quality and condition of the produce. Bananas, onions, potatoes and oranges are usually pretty good in my area.…
  • We have friends who used to own a crepe cafe. They are having a crepe night so we're all going over there for a little crepe party. I will be working out before I go but I'm assuming the day may be a high calorie day. They're going out of their way to make me grain free crepes though so no way am I abstaining. Plus I…
  • So would this be a bad time to say I've had chocolate everyday this week? I'm still within my calorie range and have been losing so it's not a problem for me. I love dark chocolate so I have a little quite often. I always log it and I only have a small amount but it's enough to make me happy. If you can't have it in the…
  • I also have a Fibromyalgia diagnosis but it magically goes away when I don't eat those foods. :) While I wouldn't wish it on anyone, I hope you find some relief. Here's a link for one of the GF groups on MFP. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/129-gluten-free
  • I am also gluten free but when we first went GF it was just for my oldest daughter. She had most of the same symptoms and they cleared within a month for her. The whole family went GF because it was just easier for me and I discovered that I too felt better and my migraines (that I hadn't yet linked to the gluten) went…
  • My husband supports me in whatever I do. In the area of health and fitness he has not even batted an eye when I've wanted something like a bike for my birthday (got it!) a power cage (he built me one in the garage for my birthday last year) a heart rate monitor (got one for Mother's Day) or weight plates (he's driven me…
  • I cooked mine in the crockpot all day and it came out nice and soft.
  • I'm in the Seattle area but there are also groups you can join. Here is the PNW group: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/297-mfpnw
  • Do you have allergies? This time of year is pretty brutal for me in that respect and when I first wake up it's the worst part of the day. This is actually the first day my head hasn't hurt since last Friday and Sunday was the worst day with me being in bed pretty much all day. I need to deep clean my bedroom again and get…
  • I know my husband prefers long hair and loves it when I wear it in braids or pigtails. He thinks it's cute. I think it's because he likes to use it as a handle.
