Before I developed an allergy to avocado I used to love baking tilapia and putting diced avocado and mango salsa on it. Oh man was that so good! Incidentally, the avocado and mango salsa also tasted excellent on chicken breast so you could bake him one of those while you eat the tilapia.

My only side effects were weight gain because I was recreating too many recipes in gluten free form and reduction of symptoms. :)

I have some dark chocolate pretty much every single day. It's budgeted for in my calories and I don't feel bad about it even a tiny bit. It's dark chocolate because that's what I like to eat but if I preferred jelly beans that's what I would be allowing for.

I have a set of Shun knives. My favorite is the Classic D handle santuko which was my very first "good" knife. My husband happened to be in William Sonoma around Christmas a couple of years ago and they were clearing out some of their knives. He found a set of Ken Onion Shun's on sale for a ridiculously low price and…

Did you count calories before going grain free? Did you count calories after going grain free? Were you eating the same number of calories on both diets? I don't eat grains because most of them make me feel like crap but I do count calories because otherwise I eat more than I realize and gain weight. I would say that if…

I think you just have no idea how strong you actually are! Seriously! Think about the weight you are carrying around on a daily basis without even thinking about it! Now if you lost down to 120 pounds would you consider picking up a 124 pound person and carrying them on your walk? Because that's what you're doing right…

I have to be careful because I can't have gluten or corn but I do eat chocolate almost every day. I love pretty much all the Endangered Species Brand and my latest love is Bissinger's Coconut Caramel with Red Hawaiian Sea Salt. That stuff is amazing! I had to ETA that I love dark chocolate with nuts in it and Ghiradelli is…

My husband recently grew a beard and I was floored by just how much I love it! He's commented repeatedly that if he knew it would have that kind of effect on me, he would have grown one years ago! :blushing: :smooched: ETA: His is a trimmed, groomed beard. I wouldn't dig it if he was going for the Duck Dynasty look. Shudder

The "ideal" is to not refrigerate tomatoes but most of us do it all the time because, leftovers. They aren't going to be like eating sand. Might get a little mushy after a few days but I've never had mine get gritty.

Me and two of my kids get migraines from eating gluten. We cut gluten out and haven't had one since so it might help to take a look at your diet and see if something there is triggering them.

I love it baked with some butter, salt and pepper. Or you can cut it up (cooked) and put stuff on it like spaghetti sauce, alfredo or whatever you like. I've even made it into cake but that's probably not going to help you diet. :D There are plenty of recipes online.

1. That I don't have to worry about my size. I went on a zip line recently and didn't even give a thought to whether the harness would fit or if the line would hold me. The person I was with was very concerned that the harness wouldn't fit her and I realized that I hadn't even given it a though. I felt bad for her but it…

When we were much younger my husband was eating some general Tsoas chicken that was pretty spicy. My niece was a little hellion and came over to DH, DEMANDING a bite of his chicken. She was about 4-5 if I remember correctly but even as a 20 year old she still behaves this way. Anyway, he tried to tell her it was spicy/hot…

I have friends who met in an online forum and have been married for more than 16 years so I'm going to say yes, it's possible.

For me it depends. If I haven't had enough carbs to fuel me then I am wiped out and not in a good frame of mind. Also, I have noticed that if I just do weights and don't at least stretch after I am wiped out but if I do intervals or even just walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes then I am in an upbeat, energetic mood. Make…

Vertigo, which is what you are describing, could be caused by a number of things. It could be an imbalance like you suggested, an inner ear problem, very high blood pressure or something bigger. Your wisest option at the moment would be to see a doctor to at least rule out the more concerning causes and not try to fix it…

My sister in law and my mother in law both had the surgery, both lost weight initially and both are now obese again. In addition to being obese, they have all kinds of digestive problems and foods they can't eat directly related to the surgery. The surgery could be a good option for someone who is willing and able to stick…

I quit drinking and I haven't smoked for years. I can barely tolerate dairy, can't do gluten, corn, potatoes, shellfish, avocado or kiwis. Unless my throat starts closing up like with those other things I'm going to keep drinking it! It and chocolate are my last vices.

My husband is my workout partner but half the time he can't make it and I'm not missing a workout so I go alone. When I go alone I tend to go during the day and there tends to not be many people there when I show up. Today for a time I had the whole place to myself! (I live in a small town and go to a small gym.) I do…

I started lifting while still in the obese category and I am now just into "overweight". About ten years ago I wore the same size I currently do but I was 20 pounds lighter. The difference is, I am doing heavy lifting and haven't waited until I am a lower body fat %. I like being strong, I get to eat a bit more and I…

My husband and I quit because it seemed like it was getting to be a problem. When I went out of town and came home to find out he'd bought some and drank by himself while I was gone it really concerned me and when we talked about it he admitted it concerned him too. So we stopped. I have an app on my phone that keeps track…

I just read a blog about an "Egg Fast Diet" where you eat only eggs, cheese and butter for five days! I like eggs, cheese and butter but if that's all I get to eat for five days I may kill someone! Either with my aggressive attitude or some fatal gas! :noway:

Are you following a plan that has you lifting progressively? Are you pushing yourself? I don't ask that with any kind of attitude, I ask because I was struggling with the same issue of not seeming to progress and my problem was, I was slacking. :) I got a couple of training sessions because I wanted to make sure my form…

I'm 43 and actually feeling better about myself these days than I ever did when I was in my 20's. I am losing soooooo slowly that it doesn't seem to be going anywhere BUT I am doing weightlifting and have found that I love it. LOVE IT! I feel strong and confident like I never have before and while it is hard and there are…

4 oz of sirloin leftover from dinner last night and an apple with some cashew butter on it

I like honey greek yogurt with blueberries, raw almonds and cinnamon. I just had some for breakfast. :)

We used to allow our cats to sleep with us until one night, one of them was licking and cleaning himself. Apparently my sleeping self didn't like this so I reached over and hit the cat to make him stop. Only I didn't hit the cat. I hit my sleeping husband in the nuts and he was very rudely awoken. No pets have been allowed…

I have to be gluten, corn and potato free due to food intolerances and my dairy is limited to the certain things that I can tolerate. I actually gained weight went I first went gluten free because I was trying out all the gluten free recipes so my family wouldn't feel deprived. For some people you can see a loss if your…

I can't eat corn or any product with corn in it so HFCS is out for me. It's a pain in the butt because it is in every stinking thing! I feel better but that's because I can't do corn in general and not specifically related to just HFCS.
