I'd love to join and have volunteered to join Fran's boat.

Right so haven given this some thought my three mini goals are; 1) keep alcohol intake below 6 units per week 2) move (either on foot or by bike) at least one mile EVERY day 3) use the stairs not the lift By the time the Mid-Winter arrives - I'm going to be 21lbs lighter than I am now. I will then have lost 40lbs and will…

Hey Nice to see you back Ros! I'm up for this too but need to give this some thought - back later!
-
Ooh good thread! I generally have my ipod on shuffle but the one track that gets me out of the saddle on my bike and working hard is Dog days are over - Florence and the machine
-
Wow! Good luck on your journey! Great to have someone with you as you go along.

Missed pilates tonight a DH home too late from work so hopped on my exercise bike for 45 mins and walked the dog- clocked up another 15 miles. This time last week I'd never have guessed I'd be almost half way there!

I looked at this a while ago but decided against it as I felt that the cals are huge for some of the little boxes of snacks and I could have eaten a proper meal for the same cals or less. Please be careful - whilst they look healthy some of those little boxes carry a high calorie price.

Clocked up 15 miles yesterday so am now about 1/3 of the way to achieving the target which is a relief after a bit of a slow start!

Has anyone started a June 11 thread yet?
-
Clocked up 11.5 miles yesterday. have done another 1.3 so far today but will be on my bike later so am not yet done for today.
-
How do i get a ticker to show my miles moved?
-
A slow start for me and am only at the 7 miles point so far. Had a day off today and had hoped to knock a few miles out on the bike but have had a thumping migraine all day so have only managed a couple of gentle walks with the dog.
-
I've only been walking today but walked 3.5 miles. 96.5 miles to go.
-
Count me in too - I need something to get me back on track so 100 miles in a month seems like just the thing and great timing too!
-
think this is great - what you must take away from this is that you have lost 18lbs and moved up 2 places in the pecking order from 4th to 2nd and only missed out on the winners wine by a whisker! I'll lay money on you on you winning next year!!

thanks i'll have a look through this weekend when I have a bit more time. Definitely need to follow your example as ended up in the sandwich shop again today!
-
thanks for posting this - just what I needed to read as i too am putting a major project live and have stress levels through the roof. I'm keen to know what you take with you to work for your meals. Picking up takeaway food is quick and easy but I know it's wrong and admire you for not caving in at all. Your hard work…

Gonnabeskinny20 - congratulations that's a great start - well done you! Keep doing what you're doing it's obviously working. I have managed to shift the 2lbs this week that I put on last week after my excesses at the wedding the weekend before last. So I'm back at 10% of my starting weight now lost. This is the lightest…

Great idea. i'm now at the "roomy" stage in my fat clothes and can hear my 'thin' clothes in the loft calling to me. I need to get up there and have a look although I suspect they may be a little old fashioned. I'm hoping there's some 'timeless classics up there... Mind you they may well have come back into fashion in a…

I have to say I agree with the other posts on this. Not giving your kids junk food is NOT depriving them. If you turn it on it's head and don't give them healthy snacks i think you would then depriving them of all the vitamins and minerals they need to grow up healthy and strong. I do understand your concerns about having…

that's fantastic - you should be SO proud of yourself! I'm really happy for you
-
Ooooh I'm interested in this too - I've been looking at it since christmas wondering whether it does work, so good to know you can really feel it. Have you tried wearing a HRM whilst doing it? This would give you an idea on the accuracy of the cals.

To answer your question - yes you can drink too much but it takes a LOT to be at that stage. I've read that we should be drinking 8 x 8oz cups per day (so 64oz - or approx 2 litres). I have a 1.5L bottle on my desk at work and fill it each morning. I always have a glass of water on the go and am now easily getting through…

Ok so I'll 'fess up at the start of this reply. I run a small (but beautifully formed!) fresh coffee company in the UK so I may be a little biased but I do have some thoughts I wanted to share. Caffeine like many other products has pros and cons and sadly life is not a simple thing! Coffee is a diuretic but I've just read…

Hi all, Can't believe it's almost the middle of May and I'm only just getting around to posting!. Hope all's well with you all and that you are now on your way to meeting some of the goals you've set. Now i'm through silly season - I had an old friends wedding last weekend on top of all the bank holidays etc - I am back on…

I think you're doing amazingly well and I can definitely see a difference. Keep on trucking - it'll be SO worth it when you get to your final destination - I wish you well and lots of laughter on the road ahead.
-
Wishing you well with your journey! I'll look out for you on May 1st

Hope you all had a great easter break - I can't believe how lucky we were with the weather. having 4 days off has felt like I've been away for ages and with the sun shining I've spent most of my time outside - either in the garden or out on my bike. My sister asked me to go on an evening ride with her on Thursday after…

That's why these challenges are SO good for me. I have just updated the spreadsheet and realised I have lost 7lbs / half a stone over the duration of this one. I was beginning to feel a bit flat as my excess is dripping off and just seems to be taking ages to melt away. Seeing the half a stone off has perked me up a lot -…

I'm down another 1lb this week will update the spreadsheet now
