  • It's better for cooking at high temperatures than olive oil is. Nutrition-wise, I don't know that it's any better. I use it in my hair though, and it does aaahhh-mazing things to it!
  • BBQ baked chicken tenderloins, brown rice & salad. Yum yum!
  • Are you looking to do low-carb AND vegetarian? Or either/or? Trying to do both, to me, seems like it would be difficult since people who go low-carb tend to rely so heavily on meat & eggs for a good amount of their food intake. Also, just in my humble opinion, going vegetarian should be something you do for ethics/beliefs…
  • This is amazing. Congrats, OP! No questions, but this will be great to come back and read when I need the inspiration.
  • x2. If we're really in the mood to write rants this long about a dumb song, I would think there are better songs to boycott than this little diddy you're so up in arms about, OP. Chill out.
  • All of these!!
  • There are lots of us here at MFP :) This is a great group that I belong to: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/3070-p-c-o-sis You'll find a lot of good info there from the other group members. Good luck!
  • I've seen plenty of men posting in threads created by a woman, specifically asking other women questions like "what's the best bra for busty ladies" or "what workouts do you do when it's TOM?" - so... works both ways... Just because input isn't needed or asked for definitely doesn't mean people will actually keep their…
  • I've always been a fan of high heels - they don't hurt my feet or give me knee or back problems. I don't wear the 6" heels, so maybe that's why, but I do have lots of 4" heels and a couple pairs of 5". In my opinion, the characteristics that make a heel look trashy are the design and heel/platform height. If the heel &…
  • Definitely country for me - especially older country. Ick.
  • OP, you may need to explain what Withings is...? I can't speak for everyone else on MFP, but I have no clue what that is. Sounds like it might be a Fitbit type thing, but not sure.
  • Ohhh french fries & ice cream is AMAZING. I have a huge weakness for the sweet/salty combo. I also get plain M&M's to mix in with my popcorn pretty much every time I go to the movies.... which is rarely (thank goodness) but it's definitely a treat!
  • Lemon pepper tuna (starkist) mixed with brown rice, avocado, cottage cheese and sriracha sauce! AMAZING, but yes, weird I guess. I get crap from my co-workers and friends ALL THE TIME for eating this, but I love it and it's healthy so WTF-ever lol
  • I LOVE this movie. Thank you for posting this gif lol.
  • Everything in moderation. :flowerforyou:
  • I start retaining water like crazy if I'm not on Metformin for some reason. I'm not sure what aspect of Metformin actually affects water retention, but there have been a few times since I've been on Metformin that I went a few days without taking it (weekend trips & forgot the pills, stuff like that) and in those few days,…
  • I've not heard/read of it affecting PCOS in any negative way. I eat red meat - albeit somewhat sparingly, but I do eat it. And am losing weight & managing my PCOS just fine at the moment. I have heard that grass-fed is better, as you mentioned, but that's about it.
  • Why are you acting like OP is trying to convince you to do the diet too? Pretty sure that wasn't the point of the post... Calm down.
  • The main measurement I usually hear about for being indicative of your overall health is your waist circumference. 35" is typically what is said to be the maximum healthy waist circumference for women: WebMD: http://www.webmd.com/diet/calculating-your-waist-circumference__ Nat'l Heart, Lung & Blood Institute:…
  • Check out www.skinnytaste.com - it has a ton of soups, crockpot meals, etc - and lots of traditional "comfort foods" turned into lower-calorie versions. Everything I've made from that website has always been really yummy!
  • Fish is not always considered meat - for example, in Catholic church during Lent, you're not supposed to eat meat on Fridays, but fish is allowed. Some "vegetarians" forgo meat - i.e. chicken, red meat, pork, etc - but will still eat fish. It depends on what Bob's definition of "meat" is in the sense of the book. I don't…
  • Eggs or fish would be my guess.
  • I like this one too: http://www.modelmydiet.com/ But it's more of a virtual simulator, rather than photos of real women. Still cool to see though, and to use as an estimate to help you figure a good goal weight. Also, gotta love all the people who are so anxious to find some drama and jump on the "in for the comments"…
  • Bump bump bump, I can't wait to try this!
  • My doctor put me on Spironolactone for the hair growth. It does seem to slow the hair growth SOME but doesn't completely stop it, and it's still frequent enough that it bothers me. I was shaving every other day, and I'm like you - I've never told anyone but my mom that I have to do that, because what girl wants to admit…
  • I've been on Spiro for about 9 years, and have never had any side effects. I'm on a lower dose, though. Only 25mg/day, but I'm actually going to talk to my doctor in a couple weeks about increasing the dosage. I was put on it to help with the hirsutism, which I'm still having an issue with, so I'm going to look into a…
  • I'm gonna have nightmares for weeks, thanks to all the pics in this thread lol. HATE clowns. Hate hate hate.
  • A tall skinny vanilla or caramel latte is only 100 calories. One of those, or a skinny cinnamon dolce latte are my go-to drinks at Starbucks. A grande skinny cinnamon dolce latte is 140 cals I think, so I would assume a tall is only 100 cals, like the other 2 lattes. But yes, like someone else said, they have their…
  • Let me know when you need some 22 Talls. I'm 5'11", so everything I own is "tall" lol I'm moving into size 20 now so if someone else can use my 22s, I'd rather do that than have to just throw them away!
