I have a vague recollection that it had to do with the amount of fiber. The PointsPlus calculation is a fair bit of arithmetic: pp = max{ round( [ (16×p) + (19×c) + (45×f) - (14×r) ] / 175 ) , 0 } Where, pp - Weight watchers pointsplus p - Protein c - Carbohydrates f - Fat r - Dietary fiber (from this site:…

And to add something constructive, as vitaminddd said, a rice cooker is worth having around. You can make a lot of no-brainer meals with one. Personally, I use mine for steel-cut oats more than rice. I find it slightly disturbing that your bananas are so possessive.

My only advice is to avoid tonic water. That stuff has 125 calores per can, even though it doesn't seem much different than plain ol' soda water.

This is incredibly motivating. Thanks for sharing!

I haven't read all the replies yet, so this may have been covered already. I inadvertently found a fatal flaw in WW while I was on it last year. Basically, it amounts to rounding errors with low and zero points foods. To give an example, bananas are 0 points and I found myself eating three to five a day. While that wasn't…

Here are a couple of relevant articles about salt. The levels I eat don't cause me to retain water, so I don't track it either. http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=its-time-to-end-the-war-on-salt http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/15/health/panel-finds-no-benefit-in-sharply-restricting-sodium.html?pagewanted=all

Ooh, nice one. I'll go with start/stop time. WYR lose both thumbs or your non-dominant hand.

I second this recommendation. Here's a link to her $45 (was $40 in '09) meal plan\: http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/40dollarmenu.htm

I have type 2 diabetes and when I'm hypoglycemic, fructose and sucrose affect me the same way. Glucose picks me up faster, but it's not a huge difference. Because of this, I treat them all the same. I try to avoid sugars altogether, but sadly, when I cave, I find refined sugar much more satisfying than fruit. I'm trying to…

Well said. Here's a somewhat-relevant article about "detoxifying." http://www.damemagazine.com/2012/12/26/toxic-cleanse-debunking-detox-diet-myths The only reason you need to drink lemon water is that you like it.

Before my gallbladder removal and bowel resection in 06, many, many foods made me physically ill. After I recovered from surgery, I found that I could eat anything without pain. And boy, did I ever. So in that regard, yes, it made things *way* more difficult for me since overeating became much easier.
