Nevermind. I stand corrected.

Here's the actual study, not some pop rag's interpretation of it. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/oby.21538/epdf Now, look at Table 1. Enter those average stats into your favorite TDEE/BMR calculator. 3. Compare your calculated numbers with the RMR values in Table 1. The 30 week numbers are surprisingly close,…

Oops. I forgot to add that I would probably log your green monster roll as Genji's "green dragon crunch roll" and add the tempura separately.

That's nigiri. Rolls are maki. Both are "actual sushi." ;) To answer the OP, I use Genji's nutritional info as a guide when eating sushi since they have a huge variety. Most are already in the MFP database, too. I only warn that you may have to increase the serving size by a factor of 1.5 or so. Eg., one roll at a…

Me neither. It's absolutely brilliant! I feel the same way. They help me hit some macros, taste like a candy bar, and they keep me satisfied for hours. By virtue of helping me stay within my kcal goals, they are as healthy as it gets. For me, of course. I prefer ZonePerfect bars, however, since they're just "nutrition…

I use the USDA database to look up cooked meats. A lot of the more detailed cuts and cooking methods aren't imported into the MFP database (at least I can't find them, only user-entered data). The USDA has pretty much everything you can think of. Here are two examples I used recently:…

Especially since she doesn't have her surgeon consultation until Friday. That's when she'll get the info she needs and I'm sure she's stressing at the moment. OP, This site gives you a good idea of what to expect for scheduled surgery.…

Try looking under "beef tenderloin." According to the USDA database, it can vary from 56 to 76 calories per ounce. http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/search/list?fg=&man=&lfacet=&count=&max=25&sort=&qlookup=filet+mignon

The short answer: as long as you urinate and eat (salt is the key), it'll be nearly impossible to suffer from water intoxication. If you're a marathon runner, then you need to be more mindful about it. Longer answers: http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/strange-but-true-drinking-too-much-water-can-kill/…

And I'm trying to figure out if Mike is using "uni-polar moment" as a relatively obscure reference to America being the World's only remaining superpower (for now), or if he meant "polar moment (of inertia)" in a fairly clever "America is fat" joke.

You really need to see a doctor. Now. If your symptoms are from hypoglycemia, there's a danger of passing out or seizure since you've been feeling this way for hours. http://www.diabetes.org/living-with-diabetes/treatment-and-care/blood-glucose-control/hypoglycemia-low-blood.html

Bath salts!

Yup. I learned about this when I read about the Far Eastern Party. One of the members died and another became seriously ill from eating husky liver and the resulting vitamin A toxicity. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Far_Eastern_Party

It also has no chocolate.

Oh, for f**k's sake. I'm one of those people with type 2 diabetes. Thanks for relegating me to helpless-victim status.

Yup. I add a 20% factor of safety on everything I have to estimate; If I think that piece of meat is 8 oz, I log it at 9.6 oz. Of course, at my weight, going under isn't going to hurt me. As others have said, I'd much rather weigh everything.

I agree with this. However, my doctor ordered me to take a multivitamin because one of my prescription meds can block absorption. I just take a plain ol' Centrum.

Earl Grey, chai (the fresh brewed kind, not Oregon Chai or Tazo liquid concentrates), Numi brand Dry Desert Lime, and I'll always have a soft spot for all things Celestial Seasonings, especially Sleepytime.

This. Not "kinda" this or "sorta" this. Exactly this. To paraphrase Douglas Adams, "Anyone capable of getting himself elected can in no way be trusted with the job."

Just to clarify, WIC is not SNAP. The latter is the one that used to allow for black market surf and turf sales in the Walmart parking lot. WIC's mission is to ensure that low income families have enough food to thrive. WIC also have very strict food lists from which you can buy, listed by brand and name. To use the cold…

Yup. Carly Rae Jepsen also had more than one single. Tug of War and Bucket from her first album come to mind.

I love it too and apologize for none of it!

The things you miss when you step out for a few hours! I honestly didn't know The Verve Pipe had other singles. I guess I should've Wiki'd it. I'll add Deee-Lite - Groove is in the Heart. They sold far more albums than the usual one-hit-wonder, but technically, they still count.

Dammit. All my favorites are on that list. How about Deep Blue Something - Breakfast at Tiffanys. The Verve Pipe - Freshmen.

I'll share what works for me. I increased my Coke Zero consumption on September 15, 2013. Immediately, the weight started coming off. Of course, I changed my diet as well but many of my cravings for things like chips and candy bars disappeared. I still eat salsa because it's very low calorie and there's absolutely nothing…
