  • Some fat people are lazy. Some thin people are lazy. People can be lazy. Personally when I was fatter I was lazier cause I couldn't do as much. Now I'm not lazy.
  • What were you eating the other 4 days a week ? Obviously enough to stay in maintenance.
  • In fairness I did once have a really nice steamed breast in a restaurant but I think it had been spiced quite subtly or they had been feeding that chicken some tasty grain.
  • I prefer to roast/bake my breast. I can't even imagine boiling it
  • I use chicken

  • Were you not posting some green tea junk in the other thread ? Just no. And no. The trick is to maintain a calorie deficit while lifting heavy stuff.
in Belly fat Comment by pcpop7 May 2016
  • No it doesn't. A calorie deficit burns fat.
  • Just remember that if the lowest fraction of an oz you have is 1/4 then that is 7 grams. So 4 oz could be anywhere from 106 grams to 120 grams so almost 20%. If you have higher or lower fraction then it will vary.
  • Good for you buddy. You're taking on board the good advice and being honest with yourself. The amount of times people just really don't want to hear it is unreal and being successful at this is mostly about the attitude. Good for you.
  • why not split the difference and aim for 1300 and see how that works out. Give it a month and review your loss and see if you need to go down or up. Nothing is set in stone and you don't need to think of them as such. You should review your own numbers based on how it is going.
  • Sorry and just going to include a meta analysis that seems to say the opposite. I am not saying losing fast is good I am just saying statistically quicker losers seem to maintain more weight lost. Or so this meta say. http://m.ajcn.nutrition.org/content/74/5/579.full
  • I'm not being snarky. Do you have a study that shows that because all studies I have seen show that regardless of how quick the rate of loss the regain in the sample is the same. However I would love to see the opposite, mostly to prove a point I was arguing myself with a real life friend :s
  • Just try it for today as an experiment. Log like you do it for a living. I know it probably seems like a pain but after a few weeks doing it on the scale it will become second nature. Even maybe take something you do in cups and compare it. I think you'll be surprised. The way I see it, if you are gonna invest the time…
  • Ok. Cups can be off by a massive amount you'd be totally surprised. Even packet weights can be of. I once had a pack of nuts that had 25g on the label but when weighed was around 47g that is almost double the calories. Almost everything has a substantial margin of error that can and does have a massive impact on your…
  • Open up your diary and we can take a look and give help. Are you weighing everything in grams on a food scale ?
  • Do you mean body fat % rather than BMI ? BMI is not a percent sort of measure. Any ways good luck. A calories deficit will, as always be required. And I suggest you look up 'vegetarian' that sort of means no meat.

  • Ok then. See ya. Seems like your justifying to yourself why you should just keep up your current nonsense.

  • Yes that makes more sense than my literal reading of the post.
  • What's that ? You weren't eating enough and so what put on weight ? Goodness. And now your what ? Overweight from not eating enough ? Think you maybe need to get honest with yourself.
  • Have you read the forums here much. Plenty of hangry and cranky going round. Lol. I think maybe a lot of people use the forums as a tool to let off steam. :D

  • Everytime this english muffins thread appears near the top I'm getting a wee bit hungry. :#
  • Yes ofcourse it works. But you MUST be consistent and honest. So consistent, honest calorie counting does indeed work.

  • Deadlift, Good mornings, back extensions, pull ups. Basically picking heavy things off floor in one way or another uses your back... I would also say anything that strengthens your core helps support your back so planks, etc... If though this is to help recover a sore back and not to build strength, then go speak to a…
  • I guess I have been really luck in that I have always got on with everyone I have worked with, bit of a sheltered life maybe. Or perhaps it's not so much luck eh ? More about the receiver and how it is received. smh.
  • If somebody said my food is disgusting, then I would not be particularly bothered. No. I often have sushi at my desk, my boss hates fish. I can see him pale when he sees me eat it. Is it me being rude to my boss or is he being rude telling me how much it disgusts him. In fact it is neither. One day I hope hell maybe try a…
  • You need to go see some specialist about your back. Back to the GP for you and get referred. I notice you are just along the coast from me. You should be out enjoying the good weather :D

  • No you are not in the minority at all. The majority of people are able to have normal conversations about food. And also able to comment on other peoples food in an interesting way and have a discussion about it, without anybodies knickers getting all twisted. The things I have found out about different foods from speaking…
  • Had a quick look at your diary the past week. You have to weight (in grams) and log everything. I see slices and oz and spoons quite a bit. Clean up your logging and carry on.

  • I am not being critical here, but obviously to be so big you must be muscular and you, yourself say you carry a lot up top. when you lift and train were you doing full body or have you been more about upper body. I ask out of pure interest on some of the guys I see at the gym who have tiny legs and massive upper body and…

  • Well that escalated. Perhaps because it is the real world and people like to talk to people about things, including food. The amount of times people have said to me "That looks interesting", "That smells strange", "I cant believe how much your eating", "are you just missing lunch today" - How you take it is all about YOUR…
